You, me and 33 pages of other people in the Official AT&T Galaxy S4 Preorder Status Thread are all excited.. Maybe another thread wasn't necessary. I won't hate to much today because I'm thrilled my S4 shipped and I can stop worrying.

I would've thought so, but I didn't see ONE topic on the main page in this forum LoL!

Where to buy bell sensation?

I tried to buy it from bell but they dont ship to US.
Is there an alternative place I can order this phone from?

Last time I checked, I didnt see any postings.
It is kinda annoying to wait until somebody post one up to purchase one.
Negri Electronics or GSM Nation have it unlocked with the new codes released yesterday. 621 CAD(549.99 plus the crazy taxation that funds their universal healthcare) is roughly around 637 USD as of today. From my experience, you can roughly get it for 640 something after googling coupon codes and google checkout with Negri. In a way it's cheaper since you don't have to pay for the unlock code. Your next best option would be to visit our friendly neighbors to the North and buy from a Bell store, then try to get a tax refund at the border. However unless you live near the US border, I'm pretty sure, traveling to Canada would offset any savings you could get by buying in person.

I wish I was close to Canada. I live in SC so it is a lil bit of a drive
Wow $640 is way too much for that phone. I love and everything but that price is pretty absurd.
It's a very strange sensation (pun intended) reading about americans coming up North to buy something up here.
It's always the other way around. Not available in canada, no shipping to Canada, this COMEDY CENTRAL video is not available for you peasants.
Canadians going down to the states to avoid tax, buy cheaper products, etc. I could go on and on.
Why can't americans buy it from their own stores down there, I thought it was out there earlier than Bell released it up here?

Haha, it's opposite land. Canada has been improving in getting cellphones in a timely manner, especially with the XPERIA series. The iPhone 4 came unlocked here, Nexus S, etc...
Anyways, you'd be correct, the Americans got the Sensation before we did but they got the 1700mhz version for T-Mobile. This is the same frequencies that Wind and Mobilicity use here. Unfortunately, Rogers/Bell/Telus (at AT&T in the States) doesn't operate at 1700mhz and instead operate on 850mhz/1900mhz, which is what the Bell Sensation was released at.

No nexus s / nexus prime for at&t?

I'm confused i have seen expansys selling nexus s for AT&T but it's nowhere to be found on the AT&T site :/ , so it's only a Canadian model that happens to work on AT&T bands? the iPhone 4 is not on the AT&T site either, what's going on with that?
I'm hoping to get a nexus prime but since they don't seem to fully carry the nexus s, there's Little chance that they'll sell the prime

Well, no carrier stocked the Nexus One in their stores either (US).
When Google set out with the Nexus S they got away from distributing the phones themselves and needed someone with a distribution network in place. They partnered with Best Buy in the US and Car Phone Warehouse abroad to accomplish this. Part of the agreement was that it remained an exclusive device (for obvious reasons).
This gave them not only an established distribution network, but also a partner who could advertise to a broad customer base and get a hands on experience with the device. Every Best Buy had a Nexus S on display and they pushed it for the holiday season (Dec 16th release). This potentially drew in customers from other mobile networks who handled the device as well as gave existing mobile subscribers the chance to get a "hands on" with the device before purchasing. This was a huge step forward.
If you want to blame someone for not having it on AT&T's site, blame AT&T. They are the only ones who control that content. Best Buy has it listed for new lines as well as upgrades.

Advice on Contract Upgrade

Hey guys, didn't find a specific topic for this so thought I'd stick it in the universal 'General' section
Quick advice:
My phone upgrade is due on February 2013, I've currently got the HTC Evo 3D. I was planning on getting the HTC butterfly on EE's 4G network (once it comes to the UK) even though their network prices are ridiculously high.
However as the company I work for are promoting EE, we're getting an offer which will allow us to get 40% discount on any of their 24 month tariffs. Which means I can get a £46 or £51 contract for about £31-33. If I do go for it they can buy my remaining contract months out.
The only downfall is I don't want the current phones that are out in the market at the moment. So should I go for it and get the iPhone 5 for now (deal with their boring UI for a couple of months) and sell it when the phone i want comes out and buy that one.
These are the EE 4G phones that are available: http://shop.ee.co.uk/mobile-phones/pay-monthly/
Or should I just wait it out and get a contract once the phone comes and hope the standard 4G prices go down
What would you do?
Anyone?

anybody wanna make a new holiday?:laugh: lol
So... by the time you're renewing your contract, will T-Mo have scrapped their classic plans and phone subsidies completely yet?
My contract is due next week. I want a Nexus 4 and use it with a prepaid service. Here in PR, TMo signal is not good or maybe is this phone not being able to pick 3G. I don't know. My mom has AT&T and she has signal everywhere with her Samsung Focus. So, I think Nexus 4 with one of those minor carriers that uses AT&T network. Won't go back to a two year contract hopefully never in my life. It's been a pain in the...
My gf got a Note 2 and it's great, but without contract is too expensive, worth 2 N4. So Nexus it shall be.
Im waiting on my N4 to get here. Ive already bought the sim from straight talk. I advise any of you guys that plan on using straight talk to goto walmart.com and buy the att micro sim while its in stock. After they are gone no more att straight talk byod sims. Apparently they lost a contract with att to sell just the sims. Ill be picking up two more in the coming weeks if they are still available just because.
Chris if you are going to goto a att mvno make sure you can bring your own phone. Most of them restrict you to their phones. Atleast in the states they do.
My contract expired over a month ago and as always it will depend on $$$. I want my next device to be LTE capable. It's great that T-Mobile is finally implementing LTE yet it's only in a few markets right now. last time I looked the Note 2 was the only LTE device T-Mobile had. I heard they'll be getting the LTE capable Galaxy S3 soon. Until T-Mobile steps up with adequate devices it's pointless to upgrade yet. Just my opinion.
I'm on Chris' s same track. I also live in PR and Tmo's signal is unpredictable. My contract expired 3 weeks ago, and my wife bought me the Note 2. I can't complain, I'm in love again with my device as i was with my SGS4G. Battery life is amazing, considering the 3100mAh and running pure stock, with some bloat removed.
I still lurk around this community and test some of the Roms here, as I gave my SGS4 to my son.

You can buy a SIM cutter for a few dollars that will punch a micro out of a standard one.
For example, http://www.amazon.com/Noosy-Generation-Micro-Cutter-adapters/dp/B005EMS1YG/ or http://www.amazon.com/QQ-Tech®-Cutter-Standard-iPhone-Adapters/dp/B009P16FKY/
(I have not used one of these, but the reviews seem good)

Does that mean that they'll also loose the tower contract with ATT? I haven't looked into it at all but isn't the tower contract part of anti monopoly law? If so is this ATT's way of finding a workaround?
I've got to say that getting off the subsidy-based plan makes far too much sense to me now, especially with T-Mobile re-farming the spectrum in the US. With better alignment of the bands, I find it hard to consider a T-Mobile-crippled phone (both hardware and firmware). When you take into account the difference in price in the plans over a two-year period, even if it is only $20 a month (and it is significantly more for me), that is $480 -- which is probably more than the subsidy would "buy" you anyways.

Yep. Add to that that unlocking a carrier based phone is "illegal" and I'll only be buying non branded phones. Plus the international versions always have better specs than the US versions anyway. I don't live in an LTE area so that is far from a deal breaker for me.

No just the sims for the byod plans. I just ported my number to straight talk today. It was a pain in the ass but ugh finally. From the limited info given out straight talk just lost sim card contracts. Tower usage is still the same. But if you get the t-mobile sim you CANT connect to the att towers.
Unlocking your phone is not illegal as long as you get permission. I am on the fence on that as I think people shouldnt buy phones subsidized then unlock pay etf and change carriers. But if you have been a customer long enough for them to give the code it shouldnt be a issue.
Is the note 3 and s4 going to be LTE? I live in Tennessee and im sure theres no LTE out here but it wont bother me any.
And isnt it only illegal to unlock a phone if it was bought after a certain date? Or is it legal if you buy it straight out or from another owner

[Q] Tmobile & Nexus 5

So I currently have Verizon. I saw that T-Mobile has a way to get me out of my contract (pay my ETF). However, I've heard that T-Mobile isn't that good, so I've come here to ask anyone who has T-Mobile and the Nexus 5... How is their service? How is the phone? Is it worth switching to T-Mobile for the Nexus 5 vs keeping my Verizon Moto X.

You guys wouldn't happen to have any clue as to the trade-in credit would you? I have a VZW GS4 and a Moto X Dev to trade for T-Mobile for the "get out of my contract" thing, and I can most likely get $0 down on the Nexus', but I want to put forward atleast $200 on each phone in advance with the trade in credit. I mean these phones are not even a month old, and they are in mint condition so could anyone knowledgeable give me a rough estimate of what I should expect? it goes up to $300 apparently, and I should get that or over $200 for the Galaxy, but even if I only get 200 for the moto, I'd still be happy.

Ah okay because I've got a Galaxy S4 and a Moto X Dev Edition. They are in perfect condition (cases since day one), and I haven't even owned them for 30 days so hopefully I'll atleast get 200 each.

You should know that tmoblie only offers the 16gb version. I have tmoblie and got my N5 from gplay cuz I want 32gb. I live in central va. I drive all over alllll over. In cities and urban areas like Richmond, Baltimore and DC I get LTE 30 plus. Surrounding suburbs are the same. In places like boweling green, south hill I get G and E. I also visit family in pasco Fl and the Boone's Vt. In FL it's 30 plus. In Vt , new Hampshire no service at all.
P.S all I needed down was 60 bucks

I'm not one to complain about the size of the phone though either way because I only put a few albums and a few apps.

Well as far as coverage goes it looks good. Also, you can get the phone's unlocked after 90 days of service as long as your in good standing and your device is paid in full right? I mean just in case, I would like to know. I couldn't find much info on their website about this, and I've gotten mixed answers from the local stores I've called. One guy said they are locked to tmobile, another said 90 days, and on google i found a site that said 40 days.

I just did exactly that.
T-mobile is hit and miss. It really depends on where you live.
It works GREAT where I live.As long as I stay out of the hills (i'm guessing, haven't had to go up there since I switched over) I'd say T-Mobile's coverage is actually better than VZW here.
We got $100 for each of our S3's (16GB) and like $46 for my daughter's like 4 month old iphone 4.
My store told me they'd unlock after 90 days of good payment history if you call and ask.
And BTW, they have an estimator on their website you can use.

Yeah but the estimator gives me some unwanted prices. I did talk to a rep and they said the price can go up depending on the condition but in any case, I'm going to get the Nexus 5. As far as the Nexus 5 being unlocked, is that true? I mean I could literally buy it from T-Mobile and if i dont like the service i can pay it off quick and just go to straight talk?
