NANdroid Question - General Questions and Answers

I've made a backup using stock recovery. But I am unable to restore it due to checksum error. Now that I've installed CWM, it doesn't shows that backup file. Is there any way I can have a restore of the my original .backup file?

[Q] CWM 3.0.0.6 Failure question

I am not sure how or why but I have had two instances now where the Nandroid backup has failed. Once with a backup of CoreDroid 4.9 MD5 mismatch wont restore and once now with CoreDroid 5.0 same error when i try to restore. I have tested and verified that it is not the rom.
I did a full wipe again
reinstalled full version ROM
set it up with a few apps
did a nandroid backup
rebooted
restored backup from SD card
Restored and booted no issue
All Normal! I do not know what happened on the other two backups?
Normally I boot to CWM by means of Rom Manager which gives you the option to name your backup. It is possible that I did those by means of CWM (Going directly to CWM with ADB) which does not allow you enter a name. It just starts and assigns it a name (number) and then I changed the name later on? Not sure. I am also not sure if this would cause a MD5 mismatch?
Always a concern if a backup does not work 100% of the time until I find a cause.
Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks all.....
Has there been any other reports of this? This is the first time I have had an error with CWM and I have had it twice.....

[Completed] Backed up with CWM navigating to the folder in restore says "no files"

Hi i need help ASAP,
I backed up my phone with CWM it made a folder as a backup.
When I tried to restore the backup I navigated to the folder and it showed me inside that folder (like there are no files) instaed of starting the backup procces.
one more problem is that now i flashed another ROM with TWR and I didn't know it will be with TWR so I am not sure I can backup CWM with it.
please refer to my 2 questions as it combined.
Can you clarify if CWM is able to restore the Backup ? If its not, then the backup was not made successfully.
To your Question, are you saying you flashed TWRP Recovery and then flashed the new Rom ? If that's the case then the CWM backup can't be restored by TWRP.
EDIT - I should caution you that it is not a good idea to restore the backup made by one Recovery with another.

[Q] phils recovery problem

I've taken some backups using online nandroid backup (default settings, which makes a CWM type backup). But now, when I try to restore it using recovery, it is not getting detected.
I did ensure I copied it to correct folder. I'm also able to see it and restore content using nandorid manager. But ,when I'm inside recovery the restore from sdcard1 is not detecting that.
Any ideas, solutions,pointers?
