wifi problem when switsh to custom rom

hello everyone
i have a rooted sensation xe
every time i flash a sense 4 rom
the wifi just doesnt work
is there any way to fix it

hello,
You're s-on, enable smart flash in advanced menu in 4ext or clockworkmod then flash the ROM immediately. But if you don't want to do this everytime flashing a new ROM, just turn s-off.

hey man
i did all what u adviced ... now i can turn wifi on/off ... mac adress shows up ... but no ip adress ... and the major bug is that it cant see avilable connections
is there a way to fix this !!?

and yes i am s-on ... everytime i seek for s-off methods it shows the wire trick method which freaks me out :/

Aha, so you do need wifix manager.
Download and install wifix manager and reboot.
Done.

i downloaded the wifix manager but i cab acitviatevit. .. evwrytime i enter the code it says wrong im code !!!

Join the club.
Been stuck with the WiFi error for almost a year now. Check out all threads relating the error.
Try flashing the boot.img from the rom manually, I guess wifix didn't work for you with an invalid code. Try deleting the wpa supplicant file in data/misc/wifi.
Also try flasing a custom kernel.
I've tried em all even most RUU's with GB and ICS but all in vain.
So be careful with all this as it might permanently screw with the WiFi as it did for me.
Also read the thread about the hardware issue and fix for it with heating the flex board.

If it says wrong code, be sure that it is.
"in my opinion" If wifi did not work, it would have one of these features:
1. It does not turn on, stuck on a "Turning WiFi on..." loop;
2. It gets back to "off" status as soon as you tap to turn it on;
3. It turns on, but finds no network;
4. It turns on and finds networks, but when you enter the password of one of them, saves it, but saying "Not in range" and you are not able to connect at all.
By the way, BEWARE THAT YOU WOULD NOT TURN THE PHONE OFF OR REBOOT IT WHILE WIFI IS ON.
But if you are sure that it is true, then flash a custom kernel and remove and re-install wifix WHILE WIFI IS OFF and then reboot.

[Q] Random restarts

Hello,
I need your help for a problem. I tried 3 different roms but the problem still remains. When I play games or when I am using the internet for some time, my phone reboots! I do not know why is this happening so I want to tell me if anyone knows why is this happening or if there is an application that can tell me why my mobile restarted?

Check if the firmware matches the required version for the ROMs you tried. It may also be a battery issue.

Hello,
what kernel are you using? It can be for some reasons:
1. Kernel
2. Kernel settings, like max frequency, or UV amount.
3. ROM
4. Battery
But, if the firmware version is lower that what the ROM needs, it will strat a bootloop. The ROM won't start at all.

You haven't paid attention well, mate. Read all my former post carefully and all the causes I mentioned, I said if it was your firmware incompatibility with your ROM,it will not start up at all. Despite that,
What is your current ROM in which you get reboots?

To check the firmware version (go Settings->About->Software information->More-> and the Baseband version (it's your firmware) or Power Off your phone and pres VOL Down + Power Button. If you say you've changed 3 kernels... try to change ROM, for me works perfectly ViperS 1.6.3 + Sultan kernel r16.5.

No i paid attention and the change of rom and kernels didn't help as I said before so firmware is the only thing I didn't check.
Currently I am running on Viper Rom but it is not rom or kernel error I think. I tried ARHD with stock kernel, AOKP with sultan kernel and Elegancia with sultan kernel. Always I have the same problem. Reboots while I am playing or while I am browsing...
Is there any app to show me what is the error?

Aha! I think I found out what's doin so! Put this file in root of your SD Card and boot into your bootloader, then it'll ask you for the update. Accept it using vol up and reboot at the end and see whether it's worked or hasn't.
Then delete the file at the end. i think this is gonna solve that :thumbup:

No I Do not. But I said before that it isn't rom problem because I have the same situation on every rom and kernel I tried =/

Yes! I didn't change anything. I don't know why is overheating after 5 minutes of playing.
Does anybody know any program-application that can monitor and tell me what is happening the time before the reboot happen?

I had random reboots for awhile. I was told to back up my SD card. And reformat, repartition it. Reload the Rom. It work for me.. I haven't had a reboot since..

Are you using the battery that came with the phone? If so, then that may be the cause of your random reboots.

The stock battery that comes with the Sensation is known to cause random reboots. If you want to make sure that it isn't something besides the battery then download THIS app and right after your phone finishes rebooting from a random reboot, open the app, get your last_kmsg, and post it here.

WiFi error....

alot of people have the same problem but i couldnt find anyone who knew whats wrong so im gonna ask again here and see if someone knows..
SO the thing is when i turn on my wifi it says error after a little while but my bluetooth works. And alot of the time the wifi is turned on and i cant make it go to off so its like stuck on "on". And also i cant see the (Mac-adress OR IP-Adress) so everything is fuc?ed... xD
hopefully anyone can help me with this!!!
ALSO i tried to flash in Android rev. HD but it didnt work on that one either, so now im using what ive been using all the time wich is ViperS.. And it just suddenly started not to work so im out of clues here guys, please help me with this cus my 3g sucks ass.. !!

Try another kernel it might help
Have you ever changed your firmware version or the radio version or something like that or even an ruu
Because if you flash wrong one it could cause these kind of problems even a slow 3g connection

I havent flashed anything except the ROM after the wifi got wierd.. but i will try a new kernel!

Are you s-off?
if you aren't, then you gotta flash the ROM again smartflash enabled in advanced options in 4ext recovery...
in case you don' wanna do this everytime flashing a ROM, then turn s-off.

hello; i have the same problem; when i install a custom rom, my wifi doesn't work anymore; no matter which custom rom; i tried SuperXE, CM 10.1 and viper S; in all of them my wifi is disconnected; i also s-off my phone; and installed other radios, firmwares; yet i have the same problem; just in stock rom wifi works!

Yeah, I tried, it worked after it, But wifix has issues, if I restart phone, wifi disconnect again, and I have to dial,... And I feel the signal is low, why with stock roms there's no problem?! Isn't there any solutions?

It just stucks I have to remove the battery and turn on the phone again, and than it happens again.
I've tried several roms but at last choice I used the orginal RUU.
But without changes.
Can somebody help me please.
Maybe it's good to know; my phone is almost 2 years old.

Hello,
If I have inferred correctly, you have got no issues with the RUU, have you?
If so, then you could be sure that it is something either a ROM issue or the kernel's.
Please give complete detail on a specific ROM you use and have the issue.

it was to good to be true..
I'm on hboot 1.29 but no success..

The phone worked for about 8h without getting stuck..
But it now it's again every time im using the phone..

Download Ubuntu 12.10 (32bits)
Burn it, then Boot with your new Ubuntu Live CD.
In the main menu choose "Try without install it"
Then you start on Linux Ubuntu, and then u will be able to try UnBrick ure fone
I have now a Sensation XE, But my Sensation (only) was Bricked, this forum helps me to found what i have to do....
I made it. I Buy This and additional things for communication with sensation ....
Now i got 2 sensations one XE and the other in only sensation.
It takes time but when u finish with it..; it's very good !!!!
