[Q] Help! Cyanogenmod 7.0.3 Desire HD port.

I have managed to port Cyanogenmod for Desire Hd to my Desire S but there are two problems with it. One of them is that the camera won't work it just hangs on black screen. the other problem is that Bluetooth won't turn on at all. Any help will be appreciated. Everything else works.

try replacing the camera and bluetooth library files from stock and see if that helps.

That didn't work, I have tried many different combinations but when I switch the files or add new one the build doesn't boot any more. I hope I get some help with this.

Have you tried reporting your problem to cyanogen forum ?

No way,DHD isn't locked BL,but DS is.

the locked bootloader is unimportant for porting cm 7.0.3 to desire s, u still can unlock it with xtc clip

So r u suggesting dat widot s-off or rooting we can use cm7 ???

I have s-off and root. I gained it trough xtc clip for 20 €at a local phone repair shop.

i guess rooting is what is needed...
cos for rooting ppl havent found a way with s-on this s-on thing has become an issue...
but rooting is more dan enough for it

can you upload the zip file that worked for you? i'd like to try it.
if the changes are trivial, just post them here.

queloo: u will need another kernel, it's the same reason why sense kernels don't work with cm7 at dhd... camera, bluetooth and wifi only work with the proper drivers

i never really got how the "sense" kernel is different from the aosp one. they are both linux kernels and any kernel based driver would have to work for either one or at least that's what my close to 12 years of expierience with linux tell me...

[Q] Need Help with signal. Radio Update?

Hello, Firstly Im new to XDA, I have looked around but cant find this question, But my apologies if its already been asked.
Im fairly new to the whole flashing android scene, Ive done it a few times to get the latest and greatest OS but thats about it.
Im currently running SuperXE build5 with clockworkMod recovery.
Everything is running brilliantly except I have very very low signal, I have always had bad signal where I live, but its usually sorted by just walkiing outside, But not with jellybean :L
Its a real struggle to find signal anywhere on my property now, and It got me thinking, My sensation is overclocked to 1.5GHz ondemand govenor (192min 1500max) and I figured that almost every part can be overclocked or boosted in some way by clever people who develop mods
I dont mind if it drains battery more by putting more power to the antenna, as long as I get signal lol, can anybody help with this?
If youve done it before with this or any other phone how was the overall experience and did you get much of a boost in signal?

Im not S-off, But I am rooted, Hboot is 1.27, I dont know about the others, where would I find them?
I have had the problem with low signal since I got this phone, It doesnt seem to be as strong as My previous htc magic with reception, Ive been running jelly bean for 2 days now, I also had very bad signal in stock ICS and android revolution HD.

Hi,
If you are s-on,then,you cannot change the radio or firmware.
I am not sure if you are able to change the ril.
It is worth a try.
Go to market,and get "Getril".
This will show if you have the best radio/ril combination,or show what might improve it.
Try it.
If not you would have to consider s-offing and changing the radio.

thank you very much, im installing the app right now, I'll let you know back here if it works, If not Then I will continue my quest for signal haha, I have found that its very difficult to get S-off with Hboot 1.27 as I cant use revolutionary to do it :S

p.s, It has came back with RIL/Baseband doesnt match, and yet it shows the recommended baseband as an older one that I currently have, but i'll download and install anyway and see how it does

Hi,
Baseband is radio.
You cannot install it with s-on.
You might brick trying it.
S-off is achievable for you.

Well somehow it worked (its now showing my baseband number as the recommended one) and I have 3 bars of signal xD before I have 0 bars on a good day ahha, I cant thank you enough malybru

Hello,
I need your help for a problem. I tried 3 different roms but the problem still remains. When I play games or when I am using the internet for some time, my phone reboots! I do not know why is this happening so I want to tell me if anyone knows why is this happening or if there is an application that can tell me why my mobile restarted?

Check if the firmware matches the required version for the ROMs you tried. It may also be a battery issue.

Hello,
what kernel are you using? It can be for some reasons:
1. Kernel
2. Kernel settings, like max frequency, or UV amount.
3. ROM
4. Battery
But, if the firmware version is lower that what the ROM needs, it will strat a bootloop. The ROM won't start at all.

You haven't paid attention well, mate. Read all my former post carefully and all the causes I mentioned, I said if it was your firmware incompatibility with your ROM,it will not start up at all. Despite that,
What is your current ROM in which you get reboots?

To check the firmware version (go Settings->About->Software information->More-> and the Baseband version (it's your firmware) or Power Off your phone and pres VOL Down + Power Button. If you say you've changed 3 kernels... try to change ROM, for me works perfectly ViperS 1.6.3 + Sultan kernel r16.5.

No i paid attention and the change of rom and kernels didn't help as I said before so firmware is the only thing I didn't check.
Currently I am running on Viper Rom but it is not rom or kernel error I think. I tried ARHD with stock kernel, AOKP with sultan kernel and Elegancia with sultan kernel. Always I have the same problem. Reboots while I am playing or while I am browsing...
Is there any app to show me what is the error?

Aha! I think I found out what's doin so! Put this file in root of your SD Card and boot into your bootloader, then it'll ask you for the update. Accept it using vol up and reboot at the end and see whether it's worked or hasn't.
Then delete the file at the end. i think this is gonna solve that :thumbup:

No I Do not. But I said before that it isn't rom problem because I have the same situation on every rom and kernel I tried =/

Yes! I didn't change anything. I don't know why is overheating after 5 minutes of playing.
Does anybody know any program-application that can monitor and tell me what is happening the time before the reboot happen?

I had random reboots for awhile. I was told to back up my SD card. And reformat, repartition it. Reload the Rom. It work for me.. I haven't had a reboot since..

Format with 4EXT recovery?

Are you using the battery that came with the phone? If so, then that may be the cause of your random reboots.

The stock battery that comes with the Sensation is known to cause random reboots. If you want to make sure that it isn't something besides the battery then download THIS app and right after your phone finishes rebooting from a random reboot, open the app, get your last_kmsg, and post it here.

Hi,
When I use my phone sometimes an hour, sometimes 2 minutes.
It just stucks I have to remove the battery and turn on the phone again, and than it happens again.
I've tried several roms but at last choice I used the orginal RUU.
But without changes.
Can somebody help me please.
Maybe it's good to know; my phone is almost 2 years old.

Hello,
If I have inferred correctly, you have got no issues with the RUU, have you?
If so, then you could be sure that it is something either a ROM issue or the kernel's.
Please give complete detail on a specific ROM you use and have the issue.

Im trying it right now so

it was to good to be true..
I'm on hboot 1.29 but no success..

The phone worked for about 8h without getting stuck..
But it now it's again every time im using the phone..

Ok so i just want to know something about ICS on our Sensation, not so long ago i had a Samsung Vibrant Rooted and the dev's on that device told me that ICS for the Vibrant was the worst system to run on them cause it wasnt stable and could lead to a lot of trouble with the Vibrant so i was using old builds 2.2 or 2.2.1 and then the dev's got the 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 running on the Vibrant and it was great using them, but whatever to the point, since they told me ICS was the worst Android OP made, i wanted to now if that's the case with our Sensation?? is ICS a bad OP or not?
My Sensation is not Rooted, i dont have the bootloader unlock and the s-off, i did manage to get those two at some point this week but wasnt able to run a rom on my device so i decided to go back to stock but i still have the s-off :/ and i wanted to know if its ok to run the Sensation with ICS stock or not, or if theres a way to go back to Gingerbread? I know it sounds kind of stupid, but i just want to know.

Stock ics is good on the sensation pal and since you are s-off you can downgrade as you please

Of course it's not. And by installing a Gingerbread RUU you could easily revert, in case you wanted. But ICS is not bad at all. Some apps even don't work on lower than Android 4.x.x. So, give it a shot!
