[Q] New I727UCMC1 Baseband. Should I flash? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I'm running CM 10.1 4/22 Nightly
Just got a message for an update from Samsung which I'm not going to run since I'm already rooted/running custom ROM
However, the update does include a new radio/baseband UCMC1 I'm currently running UCLI3.
Would it be wise and/or beneficial to flash just that new baseband?

That sir, depends on how happy you are with the cell signal you're receiving.

[Q] How is the LTE support on the current CM10.1

I'm thinking about flashing the latest official CM10.1 nightly on my skyrocket. For those of you that have it, how is the LTE support? I have AT&T in Philadelphia.
Does that ROM currently support it? Will I have to flash additional radios? Will I have to constantly change my APN settings?
Good,yes,no,no lol

Radio stress 4.4.2

Howdy
I really want Android 4.2.2 but I've tried every ROM out there and same issue. I lose my cellphone service
I've been using custom roms on my phone for a while and never had to deal with radio issues before, I've been reading about radios/APN's etc but no matter what I try I can't get radio on a 4.2.2 ROM.
Help
AT&T Skyrocket
Thanks
Paul
You didn't say what radios you've tried. A JB radio does indeed work. But why 4.2? You'll have other issues until there's a stock ROM to base it on and work out the bugs.
Are you changing kernels as well? What radio are you on?
I'm running SoA 4.2.2 w/ stock kernel on the latest radio and I've not lost signal once. I have had baseband issues on other roms and with other kernels, but I don't know if it's related to those or something else.

[Q] P500 Baseband issue after going to AOSPA 4.2.2 ParanoidAndroid 3.15

Hey, i recently flashed my P500 to [AOSPA 4.2.2] [UNOFFICIAL] [ROM] [30MAR] ParanoidAndroid 3.15 - LG-P500 | Build #1 and now my baseband is unknown, is there a fix for it or is it possible to get back my old baseband?
Flashed from 2.3.4.
Also if this helps, the baseband version that was on 2.3.4 was:
v07u-000-000-mar-23-2009
The rom you flashed does not change your baseband. Although it may not recognize it if you have old baseband. I have seen this v7 listed in the past (incorrectly on custom rom), but I really don't remember if I had old baseband at the time. However, chances are that you have old baseband, and the 4.2.2 rom that you flashed is made to work with new baseband. The oldbbfix:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963815
Will allow the rom to use your old baseband. This will need to be flashed every time you install a new baseband rom. It does not change your baseband, and is reversible by using the newbbfix from the same thread. If you choose instead to flash new baseband via lgmdp, beware that you can lose your imei permanently if the flash goes badly. So the safer option is the baseband fix.
sent from the p509 that I thought I killed again... no trouble at all
thank you very much, it worked
Glad to help.

I have the exact same baseband and want to use the exact same ROM, so thanks for this thread.

[Q] OK to use ANY CM rom on my older device, esp if not using radio?

I have a AT&T galaxy note 2 SGH-I317 upon which I recently installed the latest available nightly CM rom (10.2), which only gives me to Android 4.3.1.
I was wondering if its ok to upgrade the phone using a more recent rom for a different phone from the CM website, ie CM 11 for the Galaxy Note II (GSM LTE), keeping in mind that I do NOT need any radio functionality (I only use the phone in airplane mode and connect to a freedompop hotspot).
If this isn't possible, I did find a custom CM rom with CM11/4.4 on the web, but I'm unsure how this differs from my current CM setup, ie. will I still have options to upgrade my phone via the regular OTA CM updates if I am running this custom ROM? Are there any other issues I should be aware of with custom CM roms?
Also, since CM hasn't upgraded my phone since April, what are the chances they will be any updates at all for the SGH-I317 in the near future?
I've searched the threads/web extensively on both topics but I am still unclear on the ramifications, so any help is much appreciated.

[Q] OTA Updates for S3 not working

I am using an AT&T s3 on cyanogenmod 11. I am trying to get back to the stock rom. The latest version that I could find is 4.1.1. Since my s3 is unlocked on T-mobile, I can't get OTA updates. I have also tried kies. Is there anyway for me to get back to stock 4.4.2 touchwiz? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am new to rooting and flashing roms.
Can anyone help?
