Howdy
I really want Android 4.2.2 but I've tried every ROM out there and same issue. I lose my cellphone service
I've been using custom roms on my phone for a while and never had to deal with radio issues before, I've been reading about radios/APN's etc but no matter what I try I can't get radio on a 4.2.2 ROM.
Help
AT&T Skyrocket
Thanks
Paul
You didn't say what radios you've tried. A JB radio does indeed work. But why 4.2? You'll have other issues until there's a stock ROM to base it on and work out the bugs.
Are you changing kernels as well? What radio are you on?
I'm running SoA 4.2.2 w/ stock kernel on the latest radio and I've not lost signal once. I have had baseband issues on other roms and with other kernels, but I don't know if it's related to those or something else.

I was running stock rooted ROM on my HTC Desire a while back, then I first flashed Oxygen 2.0.1, but I found bugs in it, so then I flashed Cyanogen, there's no marketplace in there, and now I'm utterly bugged with the bugs of these custom ROMs. I really need to get back to stock rooted ROM
Any genuine stock ROMs which I can flash? Also, if I need a different radio, then I need a link to download that radio and the procedure to flash the radio.

i've just rooted my dhd and done a radio s-off and installed revolutions 5.1.4.
my question is regarding flashing a new radio - if i do flash a new radio, how could i restore my stock radio for warranty purposes if i ever had to?
thanks

Make a note of it then check the DHD Development Forum radio thread to see if it's there in which case you can install it again.
But if going to stock you'd probably flash a stock RUU which unlike a custom ROM will contain the stock radio too.
Guys don't know if this is useful however I found that sometimes the radio which comes with the ROM isn't always the best one to use. For example with ARHD 2.2 I was using Mike's ROM with the official radio, and I found my device would often disconnect during calls.
I switched over to LeeDroid and his suggested radio, and this worked absolutely fine. So I then tried Mike's ROM again with the radio for Lee's ROM and it worked a treat.
I'm based in Italy and not sure if the ROMs are tested by the guys when developing in the UK, but I've found you can play around a bit.
My boss gave me his galaxy s2 skyrocket to flash
i was originally running JB 4.1 on a custom rom, but i tried like 2 roms and they were to buggy for him and not stable
so since i couldnt find a really stable JB 4.1
hes asked to see if i can find the 4.0 Firmware of this phone but for the INTERNATIONAL version
I wasn't even aware the Skyrocket had a international version
What do you guys think
?
Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE comes in:
ATT: SGH-i727
T-Mobile: SGH-T898
Rogers: SGH-i727R
International: GT-I9210/T
ATT & Rogers are easily interchangable, the Hercules (SGH-T898) may need a little tweaking to get it working right but not too sure on the international version, I've heard people flashing the international version with CM9 for the SR but haven't heard of anyone flashing the International version of ICS to the SR.
The hardware is identical with only difference being the CPU Model# which is the same CPU they used on the T-Mobile version (APQ8060) vs (MSM8260).
Really its best to flash only the ROMs that are made for your phone but if the hardware is similar you can probably do it but I don't see why you want to.
If he wants he can use AT&T stock, CM9 or a custom ROM.
Does he want something from the international version of ICS?
Remember using a different ROM for a different phone you will need to have a different Modem and may have a chance to brick so only do at your own risk.

He wants international so he can get be able to Text in Chinese etc etc
When I upgraded him to 4.1 the Chinese stuff was all good to goo
Had issues getting it to work on 4.0, the text would come out in Chinese, but the receiver would get a bunch of symbols, like i said upgrading to 4.1 fixed this, i think 4.1 and more languages or something
Thats why he wants international, he travels a lot as well so its convenient.

I've flashed several phones with several roms, I have my own Galaxy S3 running perfect on a AOKP rom
When i flashed my bosses phone I did the usual, wipe data/ dalvik / factory reset / flash rom
First ROM i used was Superlite, phone would go black and would require force shut off, this would happen randomly during idle or something or overnight
So i switched to SKYJB 5.0
no more screen hanging up black but got screen flickering issues, so i went into dev options and checked the H/W option..
as of now he took the phone back since he said that was the real issue.
Which rom would you recommend that runs very stable?
things have changed, like i said all new cm10 are stable, well mine is which is superlite v7.0, but that one has no chinese support, but superheavy does, cm10 is 4.1
as for international, he just has to worry about the radio and apns
So which CM10 would you suggest? specifically

not a good question to ask on this forum, "which is best", read the individual rom threads and see which ones would suit your/his needs, but since i only use my rom, then superheavy should fulfill his needs, its posted on my sig for superlite

I'm about to flash your Superheavy rom. I believe i might be on a custom kernel, could you point me a stock kernel or kernal that runs great on your rom? Thanks

Lmao
Sent from my GT-P5113 using Tapatalk 2
I'm running CM 10.1 4/22 Nightly
Just got a message for an update from Samsung which I'm not going to run since I'm already rooted/running custom ROM
However, the update does include a new radio/baseband UCMC1 I'm currently running UCLI3.
Would it be wise and/or beneficial to flash just that new baseband?
That sir, depends on how happy you are with the cell signal you're receiving.
First of all, this issue isn't just gonna get fixed by flashing a Sense-based ROM, then going back to CM12. This goes deeper than that...it seems to be working fine for guys running the same ROM with TMO and other carriers.
What does anyone know about GPS not being able to communicate with GPS satellites when running most CM12 ROMs with Verizon's 4.4.4 firmware on your M8? Could this be kernel related? Is it that Verizon 4.4.4 firmware (CDMA) is conflicting with something? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
same issue on Sprint m8

I just flased to CM 12 Nightlies and my GPS lost as well. The GPS worked great on stock kit Kat.

That does fix the issue for a lot of people and is recommended across devices when trying to get a GPS lock on an aosp Rom (example: vzw note 2) also, some people have to do it a couple times before it works. If it still isn't working for you you can try a clean flash to stock sense get the lock etc, and then copy gps.conf from /system/etc, restore your bAckup of cm12 and paste it in the same place (back up the original first), set perms to 644, reboot and hope for the best
GPS not working on HTC one m8

Just so I said it, I've got the same issue on the sprint version.
Lost GPS
I did as you suggested and tried Skyfire. The gps worked But no service or mobile data (waa waa). I made a copy of the ect/gps file and replaced it once I flashed back CM 12. Un fortunatly that didn't do the trick. Thanks for the suggestion though.
