hey guys! I Am 1st to give samsung galaxy y an upgrade of cyanogen mod 7..... i dont own fone so creed tested the rom and said that rom boots but touch is not working so me,kjain and many r working on this as this is 1st upgrade to galaxy y..........
i am fonehackezhs.... i tried to port cyanogen mod 7 for galaxy y as many users requested me to do that........... now all r you happy to get a *port*>?

This rom is cyanogen mod 7 ported by me ..... guys i will upload build.prop in some days... replace with normal one and then flash the rom!

How to flash rom​Backup your current Rom
Make a full wipe
Flash ROM
Reboot​Every thing of your fone should be stock ... just stock otherwise u can also brick your phone
Change meta-inf folder.. with some rom which boots up! because many of u said rom fails to install so if u change meta-inf den only it will get a flash !

I think it doesn't work with stock kernel sir
First we must have custom kernel to handle it
Many dev is trying hard to make custom kernel first for sgy
Becouse any problem found in caynogen mod rom
Like force close app and bootlop

gyoung is rfs format not ext4
and nothing file format .ko in folder lib module ramdisk.. in galye out of folder lib i have try this not work stuk in samsung

Guys just click on the signatures of both of ours and see that we are already working good in a60. So dont think we r new and ur device will brick and all that stuff. See my and fonehackezh number of posts and number of thanks and u can think how we worked for a60 guys thats why got this much thanks in this much post.

it will work bro when we start developing for our device we also dont have custom kernel as we dont have source at that tym. we dont have source now but got .32 kernel from zte claro which is just rebranded version of micromax a60 launched in Argentina

ya u need to get back to stock and then flash this rom oderwise u can also brick ya fone

yes its necessary to go back to the stock rom,and also go in recovery wipe data, wipe cache , wipe dalvik cache and thats it now u can install the rom.............
but dont forget to wipe these things or u will get bootloop.

i made changes in our phone its not necessary to roll back to stock one but rohan told me that its necessary in galaxy y so just roll back to stock one

flashing roms without wiping cache, data and dalvik cache may brick the phone but when u do these things then hard brick will not be done
2ndly.... If rom will not boot then just again wipe everything and return back to stock one and tell the errors that will come, we will make our next version by removing these errors

I still like to commend you guys for showing interest in porting cm7 for our device

Problem Cooking Custom Rom

I tried many guides to cook a custom rom but having a big problem that I can't solve it
Every time I can cook the rom successfully and I flash it via CWM It shows that it has completed flashing but nothing happens to phone
I mean that there's no change as I haven't flashed any rom
I don't know where's the problem I used a stock RFS rom as a base to edit and tried the stock kernel once and CM kernel in another try.
I tried meta-inf and updater script from cm rom and many custom and stock roms but nothing happens and still facing error during flashing or no change after flashing
Please help me and thanks in.advance

try deleting dalvik cache and cache also try factory reset from recovery if thease problems started after some theing u did like a app or tweak try undoing it... or if youvflashed another rom try flashing stock one with recovery or odin pm me for more help

Ummm, they aren't flashing a rom, they are COOKING a rom...

i think it's a problem of framwork- twframework mismatch. think that should solve the problem. and btw which meta INF should i use because if use creeds it won't boot . so please suggest and upload.)

which theme are you using maybe it could have a problem try a different framework of another rom

framework-res.apk
framework.jar
lidroid-res.apk all should be of the same rom
and is your rom de-odexed

suggest you one thing.try the base of a custom rom edit it and voilla. it will work even my was the same problem. i used hyperdroid and now everything seems to be working. <i did'nt use kitchen>

it installed but when i rebooted its just a black screen, the screen flickers so i guess its bootlooping. cant get logcat either

[PORT] ViperDNA 4.1.0 (x920e / x920d)

Finally I have succeeded in porting this awesome ViperDNA ROM to our devices
It took me a couple of days but it was worth it
I have been using this rom as a DD for a month now in my HTC Butterfly x920e and so far it works great. It has a lot of great features I think you guys are gonna be very happy
ROM was tested on x920d, it booted and is running well :victory:
ROM info is on this page: ViperDNA 4.1.0 official XDA thread
Requirement:
for x920e: To install this ROM on x920e you have to use my edited Kairi's TWRP 2.7.0.X recovery (DLXU recovery link).
I fixed offmode charging for x920e in Kairi's TWRP 2.7.0.X.
for x920d: To install this ROM on x920d you have to use Kairi's TWRP 2.7.0.X recovery (DLXUB1 recovery link).
Here is how to install ROM:
1. Download correct version of ROM for your device
ViperDNA 4.1.0 x920d build #2 link
MD5 : 0fa8dacebe859ea6a4b8b94aa8f8f504

MD5 : abb06a812676dcbf71d07bf1bf88128c

2. Copy ROM.zip to device
3. Do a TWRP backup (system-data-boot-cache)
4. Do a Factory reset from TWRP (or wipe data-cache-system partitons manually)
5. Install ROM.zip file and follow instructions.
6. When instalation is finished (should read code:0), reboot device and wait 5-10 minutes for first boot
Voila - ViperDNA on your Butterfly !!! :victory:
Hit that Thanks! button on this post
S-OFF users just flash ROM and you are OK.
S-ON users have to flash boot.img manually via fastboot after flashing ROM.
Procedure for S-ON users:
1. Go into recovery and do a backup
2. Follow this guide on flashing boot.img from ROM.zip :LINK or this video guide :Video LINK
3. After that go into recovery, flash ROM.zip from there, reboot and wait for ROM to boot

No, Droid DNA is not x920e, and dont try to flash viperdna rom on x920e without these modifications because you can brick your device.
I ported this ROM to x920e only.

Just curious to know that how much possibility of working it ?

There is no reason for it not to work, i did almost the same thing as in x920e PORT and it works 100% on my phone. But I don't now if it will work on x920d because I dont have the HTC Butterfly x920d to test it on. So use it at your own risk...

Hello .. i tried two times to download the Viper ROM but it failed and i think link is broken..would you please upload the viper ROM files on some reliable source.

Link is fine, just tried it myself. Maybe your Wifi is not working , or your internet connection is bad. Try alternative mirror, if the primary fails

Tried almost every mirror but not able to download the files :crying: Some of them got stuck at 50 % and some at 90%. What to do ?

Try again, your internet connection is not good. I downloaded it again, runs fine.
If doesnt work, go to one of your friends who has wifi and try to download from there.

For god sake..plz upload the files somewhere else..i have tried multiple times .

I said in the #1 post i cant upload viperdna files, only files needed for the port to work.

I tried three times again at a friends home wifi..same issue..seem i cant test the ROM..
You already have viper files and x920d files..then please make a zip and share.

I want to try your guide, but you did not mention about S-OFF/S-ON device.
Mine is S-ON with kairi's recovery already.
Do i just need to backup my original rom and install the ported result?
