revert to stock rom!

hi guys, this is my first time posting here, and i really hope you guys can help me out
I have the htc magic, with the official SenseUI rom from htc.
I would like to revert back to the stock rom,so that i can root and use the custom roms that you guys have over here, its simply amazing!
I have searched high and low,but have not found an answer as to how to achieve this.
help would be really appreaciated!
my phone specs are:
Model : htc magic
Firmware version 1.5
Basband version 63.18.55.06HU_6.35.07.29
Kernal Version: [email protected]#901
Build Number:3.03.707.5 CL#75968 release-keys
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT -1.76.0007(SAPP10000)
CPLD-12
RADIO 0-6.35.07.29
This phone is from Starhub,in Singapore.
If it is possible to root, using the official senseUI please teach me how to,as when i tried to back up using the recovery flasher, the backup could not be done.
Thanks,css626
Hi, where did you get the official senseUI rom from, Where can i find it on htc site?
Thanks
Hello,i got the rom from the HTC website, here is the link http://www.htc.com/sea/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=267&cat=2&dl_id=757
seems like you'd have to enter your phone's serial number to get it,i could upload it for you if you'd like.
Thanks for your help!
cheers! do i install rom as normal or do i have to partition sdcard? im on 32B
you'd have to install it as normal.
The official update from htc,i suppose its for 32A magics?
as over here in Singapore we get 32A magics
Ok mate thanks for your help.
To revert back to stock rom, did you do a nandroid backup before you flashed sense?
thanks again, and nope i did not,i just followed the instructions to on the htc website,as i am new to android
any way to solve this?
thanks in advance!
1.76.0007 is a perfected SPL and I don't think it has been hacked so far. There is one way to get an engineering SPL, but it's very dangerous and you might end up bricking your phone. Best thing to do is wait 'till someone finds a way to root the rom you've got.
i see,so there's no way to revert back to the stock rom as well?

question

ok, i am a experienced android flasher. i have been using cdma devices and my friend has a t-mobile sensation. he is jealous of my ics roms i have been running this weekend. on my cdma i just flash the rom after wiping. firmware updates are optional and they are generally one for all types. i keep seeing super cid and mid stuff having to do with firmware in the sensation dev section, and from what i have read u need special firmware to run the ics roms on his phone. but u have to choose the right firmware according to your mid or cid whatever that is. so if he is using a gsm t-mobile(usa) sensation what firmware do i need to get him?
he is s-off with clockwork recovery and we have flashed roms before i am just confused on the firmware requirements for these gsm phones.
i am the one who rooted his phone as well. i just don't want to f up his phone
thanks
btw i asked him for his current firmware version and he told me 4.0.1. he is going to come over tomorrow and we are going to try and get him on ics so any help is much appreciated
No 4.0.1 is the version of the Android OS he has on his device, it is not the firmware. If he has that as his OS version then he should have the 3.32 firmware as you have to have the 3.32 firmware for any 4.0.? ROM to boot.
CID stands for Carrier Identification, this is specific to each carrier. If the CID of the ROM does not match your device's CID, it will not flash to your device. If you Super CID your device, you can flash any stock ROM you want too. But CID is usually only relevant to stock ROM, although if the ROM is based on a stock ROM you might have to have Super CID to flash it. Cid does not apply to ASOP or AOKP ROMs.
Pm coming your way
Sent from my Sensation using xda premium
Never heard of a 4.0.1 firmware
His cid should be supercid with 11111111
And his firmware should be 3.32, good luck.
I think he is on a sense 3.5 rom so the 4.0 must be his rom.thanks for the responses and pm. Starting to understand. Going to shoot for super cid if he comes over today

[Q] How to get back to stock on Orange UK

Hi guys
I have been looking for a while for the ruu file for the sense 3.0 official update but I can't find the one for Orange UK
I tried footballs post and it wasn't there so I was wondering if anybody knows how to get it
My Desire S is rooted, S-OFF, unlocked boot loader and running custom rom and recovery
This might just be a stupid question but I am quite unfamiliar in some ways with the world of developing

Why would you want to get back to stock? And if you still want to, just run the official GB RUU, which is debranded with no Orange bloatware.

Hi.
Best solution : restore your cwm backup.
But i guess you might not have any...
There aren't any RUU for branded One SV's roms, as far as I know, but let me just ask : why you want to go back to a branded rom ?

Hi
Thanks for the help you
I could have to branded rom But I noticed that there is a general problem this rom!!!! And I came back again to custom rom
My main reason for returning to stock rom or baranded rom:Back to the warranty conditions
thank you..
Ok.
Without a ruu matching your original cid there's no way (that i know of) to go back to a branded factory phone. But I'm pretty sure that if you just reset it to unbranded stock (there's a guide on how to do that somewhere, I'll try and find it if you don't), you won't have a problem with your warranty.
Since your phone'll be back to S-ON, locked bootloader (not relocked), original stock recovery, boot and rom, it'll be the same as a new one.
If yoy want to use your warranty, I'd suggest that, but if you're just worried about having messed with your phone by unbranding, rooting, using custom roms or custom recovery... well stop worrying, you're fine, evreything's ok (as long as you keep following the guides' instructions carefully !).
Just to be sure, is arabic available in the SV stock roms ?
That's what you're missing, right ?
