[Q] ROOTing Samsung S3 (International) - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi all and thanks for the precious and detailed information you posted in the Forum.
I am quite new with Samsung (Android).
Just left the other World few months ago.
I was using the iPhone and switched to Android because of different considerations like battery, higher display, etc.
I am interested in ROOTing my device (Samsung S3 - GTI9300 International).
May I ask you a couple of questions about this step?
- The ROOT process will remove my installed applications
- After ROOTing the GooglePlay will still be available to update my Applications
- Future FIRMWARES update from Samsung will be available also for ROOTed devices
- unROOTing the device means (easily) reinstall the original FIRMARE or there is an easier step
Many thanks for your (all) help!!!
Happy Android

This is not for your device, you will brick it, please for the international forums.

Your in the wrong section. Look for the s3 i9300 section and there is a toolkit for you or you can Google framaroot which is a app that can root your device quicker and simpler

[Q] Is it safe updating a rootd device via Samsung Kies?

I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy S2 X from koodo and I was wondering if I can just straight up update my phone the way it is now through Samsung Kies when the JellyBean update arrives for my device in April? I have no custom roms NOR have I flashed anything on this device as far as I am concerned. The only thing I've done after rooting my phone is download root required apps on Google Play and APK files off the internet. I know for a fact that my root would disappear and I'm not concerned with that, since I don't want my phone to be rooted anymore anyways. So i figured I can hit two birds with one stone if I was able to update my phone and get rid of my root in the process. What's stopping me is that I have read that updating through kies while rooted can brick your phone. Or does that only happen if you have custom roms installed?
Don't you already have a thread about this?

No you can't. However you can go onto cm's website and download the one for this phone. Or follow the links in original android development section.

If I've helped, please hit the thanks button
That's probably not a good idea, as the kernels are different between different carrier versions. Generally.
Flashing a rom for the international version is the fastest way to get a true brick. Jtag is the only way to fix. Flash roms for your version only.

just to add to whats alraedy been said you might see your verizon s3 come up as d2vzw on some rom downloads.

[Q] big problem

We don't have 4.2.2 firmware...?

ITs a very big problem. It sounds like you have fallen into a temporal anomaly. I suggest you hit warp 9.9 and slingshot back to our time frame , where stock is 4.1.2.
THen tell us what you installed to invoke the temporal anomaly and maybe we can help.

OK there isn't a 4.2.2 firmware available yet for this phone unless you have the international version of the device. If that's the case then you are in the wrong thread.
I used to feel sorry for those that flashed an international rom on the Verizon model of the s3 but after seeing all the threads from people doing it I just laugh now and wonder when they will learn to read the device titles.

He might have installed CM or AOKP. In any case b4 you start flashing ROMs on your phone you should know which carrier you are with and what is your phone model, there are 5-6 different models. Each carrier has his model plus the euro I-9300. Then flash the appropriate rom for the phone or carrier, also have backups of the stock ROMs for ODIN if anything like this happens again. And PLEASE read and read and read b4 you flash again.

[Q] How to re-root galaxy s3

Your phone has to be rooted to install any os on it. I could be wrong but my android device required it
Well to start your phone was never rooted so its not a "re-root" or anything like that. You just need to simply root your phone & install a custom recovery. Im sure you can find those instructions googling or here on xda

Ide recommend a stock rom like cleanrom and I think there are a few on xda.
Until you get used to recovery and the other aspects of rooting. It gets a little complex when you first start down this path. Be careful and always follow all instructions.

[Completed] At & galaxy note 3, assistance please?

First off let me say thanks to all the devs on here whose work has helped me in the past.
I'm not at all new to all things root, my first tinker toy was a DROID milestone. But today I need some help for the first time. I recently traded my LG G2 for a&at note 3.
I no longer have a computer. So I had to gain root via towelroot
I found that on this phone safestrap 3.75 does not work with aroma installer... But to install a recovery that does I have to have a pc, is there a way around this or am I stuck? The rom I'd like to run is Echoe rom v15. The recovery I wanted to use is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2567283
Hi,
There is a good chance of finding a method without using a PC, I would suggest asking in your device specific Q&A thread
