Got my Pebble finally on Friday and have been running it through it's paces. And I have to admit, I really like it a lot! I had a bad taste from the first gen Sony Smartwatch that suffered from the disconnect issues and did not work well at all. Now with the Pebble, I have to love smartwatches again! The emails, sms, and music track controls are spot on.
The only negative at this point is that the Pebble is at it's infancy in it's product release and all I can see is good things happening if they let it.
As for the look, it needs a little help in my opinion. It needs a wider band. There is a kickstarter to create them as we speak but that means it's not available yet. I need to shop around for different 22mm bands that fit. Oh well lol...

I just love functionality thus far. I NEED an extra cord for work! Well, not really, this e-paper display is great and I don't think needs much charging. I need to find a battery app for the Pebble now! LOL
Are you a backer as well? Or did you preorder?

I preordered, so who knows when I'll get mine...
How did it affect battery life of your n4?

A bit. Not too bad, but I do notice it. It is very slight. And I constantly use email and sms, use flipboard, reddit, and occasionally browse here and there. But for an hour and a half, constant connection and getting emails, the battery went down 4%.
But I also have wifi always on because I am either at work or home, and bt now on, with all the background syncs, that's pretty darn good in my book.
Also on your pre order. It also depends on when the last of the Kickstarter rewards will finally be sent out. Right now the reds are just being shipped. Next is the Orange and then White and finally Grey. IMO the black is the way to go and get a wrap to wrap it whatever color you want it. And also I recommend a screen proctor as well. I found myself scraping the watch time to time and if I hadn't installed the screen protector and skin wrap, it would have most likely scratched. So I think they will start shipping pre orders in two months from today. (Don't quote me!)

Added a Fossil Heirloom leather strap watch band. Not too thick IMO and I have skinny wrists! I love this band! On Amazon, you can find it for $30.
I think worth it 100%

I always thought the pebble looked funny with that stock skinny band. looks really nice with that aftermarket one.

wow, it looks good!!!
thanks for sharing.

That looks awesome. Great post!
Question,
What dyou think is like, a good advantage on having one of these?

Well, you have to understand what the Pebble does first off. Which is basically a notifier on your wrist. This works if one has the phone either on a charger or in your pocket. While driving or in a meeting; someplace where you can't see you phone and don't want to miss an important message or call. And controlling your music player is gravy IMO.
For me, the greatest advantage of this is when I have my phone charging and I am not near it. Second, is the ability to control my music from the Pebble.
And being e-paper display, the watch can go for a good while. I haven't tested it on how long but for the day, the watch reads 100%. I know it's not because when I put it on my charger, it starts charging, so I am guessing it's between 90-100.

I got one of these mofos too, getting text and emails on the watch is cool, and controlling my music through bluetooth to my car stereo is cool. Battery life could be better (5-6 days), and I wish notifications were persistent, they go away automatically after a while, I also wish you could pull up past notifications, and answer calls with it(you can only reject them so far). All in all a pretty cool thinger-ma-jig.

Have you tried Augmented Smartwatch? There's a trial one to try out for 10 notifications to see if it works for you because the full version is like 6.5 bux.
The app is pretty cool and very detailed. There's a quiet time mode and notification history. Yes the notifs go away after a min or two, but I just get to the augmented smartwatch app, which takes over the music app btw, and get a list of notifications. I think it reads the past 5. I can revert to my music controller with a double click. It takes a learning curve to work it, but it works.
And why would you want to answer your phone? And how would you go about that? I mean you can probably code in an answer function, but I don't get how you would communicate with the watch where you would hit answer and the call be on speakerphone mode? I guess that would be the only way, no?
5-6 days on one charge with notifications all day? Is that the watchface you use? I have a bunch and created a few and settled on the Maurice "minutes" face. And the watch really only uses up juice when creating the notifications, so 5-6 days is pretty awesome for a device that is constantly on bt.

Thanks for the recommendation, I bought Augmented Smartwatch a day or so after receiving the watch, it's a pretty complex app so I'm not sure that I am getting the full benefit of it's feature set.

I would like to use the watch to answer the phone for times like when I am in the car, and the phone is docked on the windshield and connected via bluetooth to my car stereo that has a mic, I'd be able to just tap the button on the watch and answer the call.

I was able to get the 5-6 days after the latest update and turning off the backlight turning on via the accelerometer, I think with true e-ink the watch would probably get much better battery life. I also use "Lama" to turn off Bluetooth on my phone after 9pm and turn it back on after 9am.
I found that watch face to be the most attractive and functional, it having the month and day on it.
Do you have a link to the watch faces you created? I'd like to check them out
Is the SDK easy to work with?
When playing music does your Pebble get out of sync with the currently playing track(mine does every once and a while)?
This would be my second favorite watch face

I've only uploaded one. And used a simple quick face generator to create a black Imperial/Empire logo with the time in the middle with the date on the bottom. The others are personal ones with pictures of my 4 yr old acting weird :silly:.
You can get a bunch of watchfaces from mypebblefaces.com (best to view from your phone to download) to check the different faces. I currently love the Maurice one. It's my fav.

Awesome!
Wonder when they will finally start shipping the pre-orders. Hopefully before iWatch, and Galaxy Watch hit the market.

Oh and as for the music, yes it get's a bit mixed up, but I thought it was me being too impatient in pressing the buttons lol.

Looks great but how about we cook up a custom rom for the pebble?

I initially backed that when it was on kickstarter last year but I didn't like how it was shaping up so I backed out. Glad I did because they don't offer an Android version yet. The cookoo's only work on iPhones right now. There is a promise there will be an Android version soon, but no eta.
$129 isn't that bad. It's a little higher than the Sony Smartwatch and the Pebble is going to retail $150.

Epic desktop media dock/charging station

I was just curious if any others have had experience with the horizontal dock that is available on Sprints website? I know I saw one or two people say something about it..but was curious if anyone else has picked it up?

I bought it alongside my Epic. It was $39.99 and, in my opinion, not really worth the price. I had the money, though, and wanted a dock anyway. IMO it should have been priced at $19.99 to be more realistic.
It makes a great bedside clock and once 2.2 is out on it, the audio out will work. Until then, though, it's just a bedside clock unless I use my stereo bluetooth for audio which doesn't allow 5.1 sound. Then it's an okay stand for watching TV at work.
Where can we buy it from?
Where can we buy the dock from? Is it available online? There is one available on Samsung's site but it says its for t-mobile. Will it also work for epic 4g regardless of epic having a keyboard?
Watch out for Volume toggle problem on desk dock!
I bought three and took one back. When you set the phone in the dock it fits poorly and contacts the volume toggle. I put a small piece of velcro on the right side where the phone rests and that solved the problem for the ones I use at home and work. In the car, with all the jostling it doesn't work as well. I'll wait and take a look at the car dock when it becomes available. Sprint Premier customers get 25% off of accessories, which is a sweet deal.
John
yep I have one and I love it....but it does fit loosely.....fixed it with a little Velcro strip also....will be doing same thing for car...got mine for 29.99 with discount...imho it is a must have....easier to use when charging than with the stupid wire on top....basically i like it a lot....also there is a desktop and car app in market for it...
For those of you with the dock and charging via USB, does it not recognize that it's connected that way? I have to remove mine from the dock to enable mounting so I can transfer data. If it doesn't for anyone else, then I guess I accept it, but that would be a design flaw IMHO. Maybe there are early and late releases, but mine has indentations for the volume buttons, so as much as I wiggle it within the dock, it never contacts the volume keys that I've read mentioned.
I'm also running Syndicate ROM and kernal, so Desk Home from the Market doesn't work for the alarm or music. Fortunately the alarm app integrated into Syndicate does it all, and allows my live wallpaper to be shown, then goes to green numbers only when the display times out. I also noticed that the green time thing moves around as the minutes pass, so I assume this is to prevent any possible screen burn-in.
I bought the dock and I am so dumb I didn't realize it wouldn't work with a case. So I popped it open and did a little mod to move the port up an out so it would fit. Just a thought if you have or would like a case. Otherwise it's nice. I don't like the app designed for it, you can't customize it at all. There are better apps out there but it's no big deal to me to just dock it and tap clock. (2cents)

i used screen test with an all blue screen. it can also be seen on pure white and green. red not so much.
Thanks austin420. So I am assuming you are NOT using the dock with your replacement?
What I find interesting is this - most of the images there are static; but the time... 10:00... how could that be a burn in since the digits always change as time goes by? Why specifically 10:00? Weird.
i am still using the dock, just not over night.
i dont think it says 10:00. i think it looks to me more like 1888. i think there are more rounded numbers in the font like 2 3 6 8 9 and 0 all kind of follow the same form. the 1 is there because there is no other number optioin for that spot. you never see 22:00, you know? there is either no number there or a 1 as in 10 oclock 11 and 12 oclock.
That makes sense. Thanks Austin.

I downloaded the Desktop and Car apps as well, but they both suck and I didn't like that they're limited as well. I mounted one of these docks in my car and I'm still wondering if when 2.2 comes out that the headphone jack on the back may only function using one of those Samsung apps. I'd prefer that I can throw my phone into the dock and that the headphone jack would still function while using Pandora, Slacker, etc...I've got my fingers crossed.

I'm surprised that burn-in could even happen on this screen, but I guess anything like this can happen to any screen. I'm running the Syndicate ROM and Kernal and it uses a different clock/alarm app. It's actually quite cool, has completely different backgrounds, has a disk or album art views of the music and something that the alarm clock app needed in the first place...a screen saver. When I first goto the app, it has it's initial screen, but after about 5 minutes it turns into a black screen w/ green writing showing the time, date and every few seconds it moves around on the screen to prevent burn-in. I have attached the app below for those who don't want to flash the entire ROM. Give it a try before ruling out the dock. Even though I'm still uncertain how the dock will perform once 2.2 comes out, it's still nice to have and only cost me $20 shipped.
Thanks!

So, can anyone comment if they are allowed to mount their phone while using the dock? It's kind of annoying to have to pull the phone and cord from the dock just to be able to sync downloaded apps, pics, etc.
So while in dock mode do you have to have the screen on? Or was it just being left on? I could still turn the screen off no? I am mostly curious as I'd like an easy way to keep my phone charged and listen to pandora and slacker while at work. They decided this week that we aren't allowed to waste their bandwith.... it couldnt be because you have 1000 people on MAYBE a 6MB connection which is slower than what I have at home lol. So this may be an option if I can just keep the screen off.

I just do not want to wait:silly:
But I wanna tell you I have a Sony smart watch and compare to Pebble the Sony is terrible !
-I can't just plug the charger cable and charge Sony smartwatch. It's connecting/reconnecting., so I need to find good position for stably charge. (maybe my unit is defective).
-The sony belt is always dirty and dusty. Always.
-The screen is got a bad responding to fingers. (I know how to fix it. You need to press and hold then it will work, but it's stupid)
-Bad on sun-light.
-Battery is bad. I need to charge them every 2 days. Because after 1 day I have a half charge. (and I don't want to risk, so I charge every day.)
The design is not comparable with Pebble.
I was surprised when I saw how it looks on hand. Very solid man.

Black seems like a wise choice.
Do you think it's possible to customize with other types of straps?
What would you say the gap is aprox. (where the strap goes through)?

Yeah, the creators of Pebble already confirmed that you can use other straps.
Check out the forum @ getpebble dot com.
Does it work with a bluetooth headset connected (to the phone) at the same time? If both have play/pause/skip buttons etc..

Weather function to do what? Your phone could send that info to your watch tho, so the watch won't need such thing by itself.

Thinking of getting a Huawei

Does anyone have a Huawei? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013LKLS2E/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_M6zfwbGFJG3STI'm loving the look of it, but don't know much about how it compares to other aw.
I'm new to the whole idea so any insights or suggestions are appreciated. My fitbit is giving signs of dying and rather than drop money into another one, I started looking for something to work with my s6 edge+ that will do more than just count steps.

Since this section is so quiet I would suggest giving it a shot and purchase it from somewhere with a return policy and see if you like it and will fit your needs. I personally have the LG Urbane and love it... but this looks like a nice watch.

I love the style of this Huawei smart watch.
I haven't got any of this but one of my friend already did. As far his confirmation, he is not so satisfied with its performance. He thinks that this Huawei smart watch is not so innovative.
I like the style of the Huawatch, but it's quite thick, and personally I don't see the extra cost to be worth the style advantage over the LG Urbane. Technically it seems to be pretty much the same.
For me the missing component is ambient light sensor.. So the Moto 360/2015 i's my favourite device, but it's a shame they can't figure out how to fit an ambient light sensor into a device without having to cut out a section of the display.
I don't have a Wear yet, I keep bidding for Urbanes on eBay but get outbid. I'm just a cheapskate I guess
I have the Huawei wach and, I have to say, I love it. The screen is great and the battery life lasts all day with no problem.
The only issue I have had is that the notification vibration is a little weak. I installed the Feel the Wear app and that had helped.

Feel the Wear says to, "Turn off the vibrate in the individual apps on your phone." I like them to vibrate on my phone too, so I use Light Flow to set custom vibrations. My Nexus 6 is rooted, which I think you have to be for Light Flow to do that.
It looks really good, but for that price! well I'd wait for the new gear from samsung.
This is my first smartwatch and couldn t be happier. Never had so many people noticing it and commenting on how nice it is. Don't think you'll be dissapointed if you do get one.

I have the Moto 360 2nd gen 46mm and my Huawei gets here later today so when it does I'll post my initial thoughts and then after using it for a couple days I'll let you know if its worth it.
Update
Ok guys I received my Huawei Watch at 4:00pm today and it is now 10:22pm. So far I am in love with this device. However I will give you my negatives first then the positives, then a comparison with the Moto 360 2nd Gen. 1st negative the vibration on the Hauwei is so bad that you actually hear it rather then feel it. 2nd negative is that if you go for the metal link band you will more then likely need to take it to be resized for you which can cost up to 25 bucks. 3rd Negative depending on how big you are this watch may seem thick on your wrist however to me it feels perfect. Now on to the positives, 1st Positive The screen is nothing short of breathtaking compared to the Ips on the 360 where as when the 360 dims for always on it is pixelated the Huawei on the other hand remains crisp and stunning no matter what watch face you are using. 2nd Positive this watch looks like a real watch I got compliments even at the jewler who at first thought it was a Movado which range in the thousands of dollars. 3rd positive the box and unboxing is as luxurious as the price demands it to be and you truly feel like your money was well spent. These are my thoughts on the Huawei Watch and I'm my opinion if what I say sounds good to you then go for it. This watch is worth every penny even the $450 black with black metal band version I have.
Could you comment on the vibration on the Moto 360 in comparison to the Huawei? If the Huawei is as bad as people are saying then, for me, it defeats the whole purpose of having a smartwatch to notify you about notifications, if you can't even feel the vibration in some cases.
The Moto 360 has very nice vibration that you can feel so of that's what you want go for the new 360 I could feel it even while I was at the club with all the bass around me
Besides the vibration and missing light sensor (in combination with the brightness setting begin pretty deep in the Android wear menu), which I think is annoying;
- ambient is still pretty bright in dark room (again, no sensor). Can be annoying when watching TV, this made me having the watch with screen off and only manual screen on.
- can only measure heart rate when resting, while running is no option - it doesn't work and isn't accurate
- the pixels wont completely turn off when black, there is a red tint (my watch its unnoticeable (only while testing the extreme it is) but there is a topic here on xda with other examples.)
- the charger isn't as good as others, you must align the pins perfectly and pay attention if its charging.
Next to all this it's a pretty damn nice thing with a beautiful screen and probably the best smart watch, if it wasn't for the price. I hate and love it a bit more i guess

Try the app SWApp True Dark. I have found it to be the best way to have separate brightness for ambient mode. Note: sometimes you have the toggle the switch "On for Always On" off and back on again to make it control ONLY the ambient brightness. If you turn that off, it controls both, and gives you way more levels of brightness than the stock 5 (like 20 levels). I use watchawear and make custom blackout versions of the watchfaces, and set the brightness for ambient on 65 in SWApp True Dark and can almost get two full days (as in 45 hours) on a charge. If I wanted to I could only charge every other night.
Edit: BTW, the app is free with no ads...not a plug.
Oh yes that's so much better! Got it at 75 and it seems like a normal non glowing watch in a dark room now, love it.
Didn't even think to check for an app, cheers!
Edit: doesn't really work as it should, after the night I'm unable to get it to control only the ambient mode, somehow the toggle doesn't work either.
I've had the HW for a bit over a week. I got the M360 2015 46mm 2 days ago. I am returning the HW to Best Buy today.
I posted a long, detailed comparison over on the AC forums. The short version is the Qi charging and the bigger screen on the M360 won. Also, I and other people I showed them both to all agree the M looks nicer (comparing H Silver/Black leather to M Black/Black knurled bezel/Black leather).
The M is also just very slightly thinner. And, as another poster noted, the M ambient mode is not as bright, which is actually nicer (to me).
Also, the M 46mm has a 400 mAh battery. The H is only 300. The H got through the day with about 40% battery left, normally. The M seems to be getting to bedtime with 50% or a little more left. That could come in handy on days with extra heavy usage. Certainly, being able to plop the M on the Qi charger on my desk at work or the one in my truck could be handy.
Huawei has a speaker like the ZenWatch 2 for when 6.0 drops.
Thats all the reason you need.
I found some good deals on the Huawei Watch.

Got mine yesterday, and I think it's fantastic. I previously owned a Samsung Gear Live, and this is much nicer - the screen is brilliant, it's much better looking, the button is nicer and the whole thing feels very solid and well made, battery life so far is much better (I turned off the detection of bringing the watch up to look at it, which helps - when I do that mostly I only need the time, and I can press the button or screen for more), and the charger is better too (though still not the best).
Hi, I am using black steel with blackleather bracelet for 2-3 weeks. It is my first watch so I cant compare to anything and say what are pros and cons.
So shortly I am very very satisfied with the build quality and it's design.
The only thing that didn't met my expectations was that it doesn't have built in GPS. However I am not sure if it's very bad thing
Good work Huawei!

Gear s2 3G compared to Apple Watch size-wise.

This is not meant to be a full comparison here. Just was in my local ATT store today and put one on next to my Apple Watch to see how it compares size wise. Here are the pics.

As you can see, the thickness of the Gear S2 is for real. More than the Apple Watch even, at least eyeballing it. And it was pretty heave on the wrist too. However, this may have been related to the security device that was attached to it as well. The speaker on it was decent. I turned on some Samsung tunes with it and turned it all the way up and could hear it pretty clearly in the crowded ATT store. Functionality is basically the same as the non-3G version of the watch that I have for now.
Still torn on weather I wanna stick with this, or go with the LG Urbane 2nd generation.

Thanks for the pictures. Looks hideous! Maybe it actually looks better than your top picture? Was gonna run up to my local at&t store today, now definitely will to see for myself.

Thanks for sharing...wow that looks thicker than i imagined (or wanted). Looks like I will stick with my classic after all, considering i already have a gear s.
Fyi, I read the lg urbane lte will be 14mm...also very thick!

yeah the Urbane LTE is thick, but since it is larger overall, it probably won't look as weird.

Exactly my thoughts. I think it will hide the thickness better because the lugs and band are bigger too.

???
Even? Of course it's more than the Apple Watch. Apple Watch is thinner than a lot of smart watches..
Apple Watch - 10.5mm
LG Watch Urbane - 10.9mm
Gear S2, Huawei, Moto 360 - 11.4mm
Gear S2 3g, 13.4

That is just the case though, Apple is kind of being disingenuous about the real thickness of the watch which is 12.46 mm including glass and sensors:
Too bad! I've been waiting for a while for the gear s2 3G to show up, but as everyone can see, it is NOT worthy at all. Look at the thickness of the normal Gear S2.
The normal one is beauty, but it doesn't have a speaker. The second one is ugly af, but DOES have a speaker.
Conclusion: Wait for LG Watch Urbane 2... 1 week ago or so I was happy knowing that i'll buy the gear s2 3G sometime soon, guess i'll just stick with something else. Too bad, it was too good to be true...
just dont wear it under a long sleeve dress shirt, and it will be just fine..
It's not that bad. It's not really noticeably bigger/thicker than a normal 42mm watch (ex rolex)

Just went and checked one out at my local AT&T ... it's DEFINITELY bulkier, and it's extremely noticable, I had every intention of going 3G version, but it literally looks like you have a mini cereal bowl strapped to your arm and I'm a big dude and it still just looked big, bulky, stuck out too far and overall just kinda dumb looking, if I went straight from the Gear S then maybe I wouldn't notice, but after having the S2 reg version, the 3G looks like crap, can't say it's really the thickness that ruined it, it's more about the contoured bottom they put on it, that's what makes it look weird.
My 2 cents ... but I guess I'm gonna go ahead and just stick with my non smartwatch looking, sleek beautiful Gear S2 BT. .. damn Samsung lol

Nah, we were kind of in and out, spent about 10 minutes with the wife looking at it and both of us trying it on, she's petite and she has a S2 BT that she loves and looks good on her, but when she tried this is just looked ridiculous, can say the same for me as a big guy though, just looked really odd and bulky and even one notch below what I would put to fit me properly with a little extra space it still felt like the edge of the bottom was poking into my wrist bone, the way it's shaped and the edge around the bottom contour aren't confortable, from straight on it looks good, but from the sides it looks like a dolls bowl on your arm, feels heftier which was a concern, feeling cheap or something from the added plastic but I can say I didn't feel that was an issue, but everything else was.
I'm 90% sure at this point I'm not gonna bother with the 3G version and the 3G was all I wanted and just 1 try on turned me off of it.
I wanted the GPS for when I bike or hike, but my S6 Edge+ in a book bag will work fine for those days, and same with the speaker function, man do I miss that feature lol and there will be times I'll keep missing it (quick answering at work or while driving) but for the rest of the time I can grab my phone, and when I'm walking, biking or hiking I'll just wear my BT headphones as I would anyway ... I'm definitely sad the 3G doesn't seem to be what I hoped but if it was never an option the BT model is a win regardless.
But again I'm only 90% sure it's not for me, I might go grab one after release and give it a real world run, or maybe not. But I figured I'd give my 2 cents on it, they seem to be at every local AT&T so if anyone has any doubts definitely go play with one.

Hi everyone!
My team and I are working on a edge notification mod concept which I'd like to share with you (we're taking part in the transform the smartphone challange). Here's a quick look:
We missed led notifications and came up with an all-around edge light system - we're almost finished with the prototype. Small leds, which can be found on some phones are very underwhelming- we are planning to spice things up a bit.
The prototype has 20 individually lit leds, which can glow in basically any color. This allows for pretty much unlimited customization - patterns & colors.
We're linking this to 3rd party notificactions (facebook, twitter, instagram, gmail etc), text messages, calls, calendar events, emails and so on. You'll be able to set any color to any notification you like.
There's also additional functionality like:
- a low battery status
- gradual illumination and color shift as the battery recharges
- option to save settings for different time/days
- automatic on/off at specific time/day
- option to link to specific contacts (calls and text messages)
It's a quick way of reading between the lines and knowing what kind of information your phone is reaching out to you with before you even unlock the screen. It also lets you priotitize - for example, you can enable it for the notifications you want to receive at a specific moment and not worry or get disturbed by the stuff you don't care about.
You can link specific notifications, like social media with color 1, work contacts with color 2, family & friends color 3 etc. Simple, quick and efficient.
There's no impact on battery life, as we're planning to squeeze in a 2000mah battery in there. It's going to be enough to power the enhanced notification for a few days or you can also use it to add some power to your phone if you have to.
You'll be able to set a specific battery % to start and stop charging at or straight after snapping it in - it will recharge the phone automatically.
Here's a quick look at the app:
You can read more on our website: www.modmyedge.com
Thanks,
Tom
cool idea
I like it, but while I hate to be "that guy", what does Razer think about the name? Referring to their "Chroma" keyboard.

Shouldn't be a problem as our logo is different. However, we have several other ideas for the name/logo in case we run into issues like these . Currently we're mostly focused on development and functionality.
Sweet! I'd buy that!

If you are able to squeeze that battery in, do you plan on making it support wireless charging?
Also, Idk how far you are in to development, but do you have any expected price range?

We get that question a lot! It's definitely possible. However, we need need to look into some design guidelines and see how much would the thickness get increased by. The edge notifications and additional power are a priority, but we'll take all suggestions into account . We want to be competitive when it comes to pricing, but it's too early to give an accurate estimate. There's going to be a 25% discount for everyone who pre-orders though, stay tuned!

It would be nice if you would actually cover the phone up and make it a case to protect the aluminium body and the screen. Or make 2 versions, one that acts like a case and the other one just like a style shell

It's an option Not sure how that would work out with the pin alignment and Motorola's Moto Mod requirements though. Will look into it!

Why is the indiegogo ended??
Intrigued...quick questions about the battery portion...
1. Would this be able to work as some of the other mods do with the "efficiency mode? That kind of trickle charges the phone and keeps it at 80% battery?...
2. Does the battery in the mod charge when the phone is plugged in?
Also, I agree with the idea of making it sort of like a "case." Reason being, I like using a bumper case when I have a mod attached to the phone, but it looks like the available.bumper cases from Verizon or Incipio would cover up the colored led portion...If you could integrate a softish material that protects the sides and wraps around to the front it would be AMAZING

We haven't decided on how the battery portion will work yet, but our idea is a bit different. We want to implement a setting in the app that will enable 2 modes:
1. phone battery starts recharging straight after the module is snapped in (this would probably use trickle charging, but we're still not 100% sure)
2. you set a fixed % value that you would like your phone to start and stop charging at. Lets say you set start to 30% and stop to 70% - when the phone drops to 30% it will recharge till it reaches 70%. This, in my opinion is a better option and manages battery life more efficiently.
The bumper has been mentioned by others a few times, so it is definitely an option. The question remains though if Motorola's requirements for Moto Mods won't get in the way. We'll be looking into it
I wouldn't make a case version of this. I actually just recommend you putting stretch goal for 3 optional bumper cases. One for each current Z device and then future ones if your still doing stuff later on. That way if you get the mod you can still use it next generation. If you do the case version you are limited if next gen doesn't have the same dimensions.
