Don't worry, I'm sure moderators will delete this thread.
sorry my bad .....
Installing custom Rom and relocking is not recommended @ any stage.
Install stock Rom and relock if you want.
If you relock the bootloader after flashing a custom ROM you'll be stuck at the HBOOT screen with a "security warning". A locked bootloader checks the signatures of boot and recovery partitions on newer HTC devices
Relocking can be done when a custom ROM is installed. And, the ROM would boot too. But, as @BANNED said, its not recommended.
edit: sorry guys. wrong info! relocking can be done, but then, your ROM wouldn't boot. You would face the fastboot screen with *Security warning* clearly written on top :silly:

Well, I was on COS, I did:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
And, HBoot showed the Re-Locked *Security Warning*. But then, I could also boot up the phone.
edit: could not boot up the phone. there was a slight mis-understanding. I locked the device, unlocked it, and had booted it :silly:

herpderp, sorry for misleading info. One can't even boot the phone when you lock the bootloader I had locked bootloader, unlocked it and then, rebooted the phone. But now, when i tried, i found that the phone was continually booting only into fastboot.

Hi guys, i have a problem with my Sensation, OTA ICS update giving me boot loop
So here's the story:
I used custom ROM, then decided to go back to stock ROM
Flash RUU 2.3.4 then S-on, all seems normal at this point
OTA update a few times to ICS
First few update phone still normal, then ICS update and boot loop
Now the main problem:
I can't seem to do anything anymore to the phone
Phone is locked with HBOOT 1.27.000
When I try to go to recovery or factory reset it just goes to boot screen and boot loop
Steps I have tried:
Try to install RUU again by renaming zip file to PG58IMG.zip and it just says version is outdated (or similar, I forgot)
Try to flash various firmware using bootloader, but it just says parsing zip file then nothing
Try to flash firmware using CMD (flash zip) with admin privilege, but it says not allowed
Try to flash recovery img (Stock, CWM, 4ext), using CMD it says OK but nothing changes
Try to flash boot img (Stock, customs from Revolution HD 6.6.7) it says OK but nothing changes
Unlocked bootloader using HTCdev then retried all the steps above still the same
Please help, I don't know what else I can do...
Sorry if too long and confusing...
If your at the boot loader then it look like you can access fastboot. If you can there is a program called android flasher ( for windows computers and can be found in the sensation thread here on xda, if not i can upload it to dropbox for you). You can flash img's from there. Also make sure to read all instructions carefully because the Htc dev unlock has issues with bootloaders (BE CAREFUL), the revolutionary method is better, and give you a full unlock.

Hey Darryll, thanks for the response
I tried the android flasher, but when I tried to flash boot.img, it says error, your phone needs ENG bootloader.
I don't thinkI can use the revolutionary method tight now, because my hboot is already at 1.27.000
Do you know what might be causing the boot loop for my phone?

I was originally on GB rom, then I downloaded the OTA to ICS from my sensation 4g. Everything (The OTA) installed fine but when it booted the device i just get the white HTC and then it reboots and does the same thing over and over. Do you mean stoc ROM? We need your CID to get it. to find it boot to bootloader and use the following fastboot command:
fastboot getvar cid
If you are unlocked and just want a ROM to flash, all ICS and JB ROMs are compatible.

It seems that you re-locked your bootloader. Can you try to unlock it? it may help restore your phone without using an RUU. Use th following command:
fastboot oem unlock
Edit: also, how did you get to this situation? It might help solving it.

Oh please be careful! Cuz it seems like it is per device basis right now! I've read tons of posts here and there that people just cant't get this to work on the mini. Just saying! Just because I got it working I can't say that I have "the" solution for this.
I ended up doing the following:
1. Unlocked my bootloader at htcdev
2. Flashed recovery to Twrp 2.6.0.0
3. Rooted with superSU
4. Did a super wipe (Dalwik, Cache, Data and System)
5. Flashed the my ROM to JmzM4StockRootedOdex-WWE-1.22.401.1
6. Flashed my boot to the boot image of JmzM4_Kernel-09-4-13
7. Flashed my Kernel to JmzM4_Kernel-09-4-13
8. Wiped (Dalwik, Cache)
9. Rebooted system
10. Made sure superSU was installed and configured
11. Downloaded revone using the browser on the phone
12. installed a root file browser and terminal from the play store
13. Moved the revone file from the download folder on the phone to /data/local/tmp
14. Ran the chmod command on revone and finally "./revone -P" as su/root.
15. Got the error message -2 and thought god damn!! rebooted and ran the command "./revone -s 0 -u" and success!!!
Try it if you want but I can't say that this is the solution!!!

It doesn't really matter. You only need the unlock if you are using fastboot to flash something. Recovery will work normally being s-off and locked. As for fixing it, I doubt it will be. The same problem exists on the HTC first

You can boot s-off and unlocked. If you get stuck at boot logo just hold power and vol down until it shuts off . Then just press power. Repeat steps if needed but it will boot. I'm using 4.3 unlocked and s-off write now.

I am trying to restore my device to stock but i am unable to. Im trying to use the ruu. but i keep getting the 155 error. I relocked my bootloader but its not working. im using a telus htc one. My hboot is: 2.15.000 and radio 1.13.50.05.31. No os btw
But i can get to the bootloader
I might be wrong, but as far as I'm aware, it can't work on a locked bootloader, so you'll need to unlock it again.
Make sure you're using the correct ruu, double read the instructions for flashing it...
That's the most I can say, I don't really have that much experience in this.
Also, another option will be to send the stock ROM.zip to the phone using adb, flash a custom recovery, and boot into recovery and flash the ROM.
i could have swore that it needed to be locked. and to do adb,i need a os
still doesnt work

If you want to be sure of the recovery you can find the good one in the RUU. You'll find guides to get the firmware.zip from the RUU on XDA.
Same problem here. Anyone have a android backup I can try?
Is it possible to unlock the bootloader when the phone is stuck in Encryption Unsuccessful screen?(basically the phone will only go into stock recovery) I tried through HTCDEV and that didn't work. It seems like the problem is, the bootloader is locked, I can't get into the phone to enable USB or developer options and only have stock recovery. Every option I read requires enabling USB and developer options first. Any Ideas???
The phone was baught this way. I'm just trying to get it back to stock. I figure I need to unlock the bootloader, put a custom recovery on and then flash the stock file.

Just getting ready to start, but I have a couple more questions before I start... sorry I 'm a rookie here and never done this before. you can save me some time and effort
1 - Do I need to install adb/fastboot on my pc first or can I just have the phone in fastboot mode and run the commands through the stock cmd.exe?
2 - The OS# is 4.17.605.5 so do I just download 5.0.1 RUU EXE and run that or do I need to download and run hboot first?
Sorry for extra questions here - Thanks!

ok,I perform the process
-fastboot oem task 28
-fastboot oem task 29
-once I install the ruu
and I locked the bootloader still appears, my question is , to make this process should appear unlocked the bootloader or run commands on htc dev to get the token ?

You cannot HTC dev unlock this phone. Vzw phones are blocked. So if task 28 doesn't fix it you are sol.

I figure I need to unlock the bootloader, put a custom recovery on and then flash the stock file.

it's a complicated, the internal storage locked by encrypted and hboot locked too, so you can't ubl or s-off bcause no more space /link to move command .
cannot to ruu mode. and recovery with red triangle.
change emmc with stock backup dump is 1 way's

You won't be able to unlock the boot loader. Vzw blocks HTC dev.
Put phone in fastboot mode. Run the following commands from your PC.
Fastboot oem task 28
Fastboot oem task 29
Then run the ruu located here. Match the one to what your boot loader screen says for os

Thanks I have almost given up on my phone.I have downloaded several Signed RUU to fix that encryption unsuccessful error to no avail.I just had to give it one more try, though I did something extra before my phone started working. After running the above command I Factory Reset in Bootloader mode before the phone started working.
