Guys,
We need a Jelly Bean Rom for Xolo A500(Cherry Mobile Burst), as per other threads, I have seen that this phone has Unofficial ICS Ported to it, though I dnt understand whats unofficial abt it. My Xolo A500 came with 4.0.4 and wnt be updated. So Devs and others using this, can we port A Jelly Bean rom to this device?
A500
:good: I Am Also Looking For the Same Xolo A500 Jellybean Upgrade.:good:
Although XDA - Developers Have Given a Option to Root Xolo A500 But Still Upgradation is the best Part Of Xolo A500
Mine Also Came with ICS - 4.0.4. Still Searching In Upgrade of JB.
Rooting Is Made Much Easier To use Xolo A500 but it Lags Sometimes After Rooting It is Smooth to use Xolo A500.
Thanks to XDA - Developers:good:

hey you know your right ive read your comments and you have a point i am also searching for a solution to maximize the potenial of my phonebut all i can find some custom roms , it maybe change the looks or tweak a little but it doesnt make it run more smooth and fast...i think the problem is the low specs of the phone, maybe the ics is isnt compatible. so i have i theory that i working on 1st maybe i can change it to gingerbread since gingerbread runs low specs phone, 2nd maybe i could upgrade it to kitkat because they say kitkat can run into 512mb ram or maybe less ...i also thought maybe find other phone that has similar specs that run gingerbread and port its firmware, same as kitkat. i just dont know how...im reading a lot lately in android website about porting android to a new device..currently donwloading repo..i just hope someone could help to this project.. i hope you could help me...im still searching where to begin..and how to do it...

ICS Custom Rom For XOLO A500 and look alikes
This Room here is by far best rom i have used yet for my XOLO A500.
I also have used Team Burst Mk3,5 roms and I can say the roms are really good.
But for some reasons my touch screen went unresponsive whenever its auto reboot when hanged; only physical buttons work then.
This Rom is a CYANOGEN MOD rom called Blu Spark and is said to be a combination of some BLU Dash 4 (stock rom ) and iSpark Rom .
And yes, its based on Team Burst rom. So its light, fast and solves my above problem too.
I have only changed the Start LOGO from CYANOGEN animation to the GOOGLE animation from NEXUS
You can Write me, if you wish to have Cyanogen animation
Also, I faced the problem with GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES not installing on STOCK ROM on XOLO A500, this and every other custom solves that.
The ROM is in two parts (second part updates the ROM version with some more customs )
INSTALLATION;
- Place the downloaded files on SD Card.
- Go to recovery and FLASH the "BluSparkROM.zip"
- it may a couple of mins for the first boot.
(And yes, after the first boot, DATA Connection is ON by default
So to save your money, SWIPE down from notification bar and disconnect DATA connection
SORRY for the losses , But need not to worry, it will not auto connect from next boots.)
-Now boot again in Recovery Mode and this time Flash the "Update1.zip"
-it may take a min in this boot too.
Enjoy the Fast and Cool Rom

its UBUNTU LIGHT and I love this font

Again I ll say , All the credit goes to respected DEVs, I'm just sharing and I dont have their names and links otherwise i would have given their links.
Right now, I'm sharing these files (ROM ) links through my account.

Thanks for the reply bro..tho my question is will any other custom fw work as well ? or is it hit and go ?
Yes, any GT-I9003 rom will surely work. Just make sure you read the requirements properly incase they say anything about phone memory and stuff because I obviously haven't read everything on every custom rom forum . I am sure the phone memory doesn't matter and most roms should install/work just fine .
don't install MIUI
even though its visually more clean and organized but its battery guzzler.
if you want to know how to install it i can guide you but my recommendation is not to do it. your battery will drain in 3-4 hours

I have flashed above ROM and it does work properly.. for i9003 4gb version...
it is still in early stage probably alpha and has couple of known issues like Bluetooth not working and battery drains quickly...
other than that all the basic stuffs are working fine... Google now is also functional..
I have been using this ROM since last 2 to 3 days and other than above 2 known issues I also feel UI is somewhat laggy on I9003...

sorry guys, was out of city so could not upload the file .i m uploading the file now... wil post the link now...
Anyways I was also testing the rom and just need a working nandroid backup of a9 as I messed my a9 and forgot to take a full backup of my phone in working state.
i also got hold of an ics rom for w680/686 plus baseband files plus loader from a chinese forum. Had to register but I was sucessful in registering and even answered a few ques. in chinese
---------- Post added at 02:49 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:02 AM ----------
The download link for basebandfile is- http://www.mediafire.com/?ubx7rip7afigt5k
and loader is http://www.mediafire.com/?gsjo1lwv7fza76i
Also the baseband file is fully tested and reported working by the chinese users. Anyways keep a nandroid backup to ensure that your device works even the baseband files fail to work.
If you are able to make work the baseband files then the spice rom will work perfect as the network bug is only due to old baseband of a9
what is the use of the loader here??....and the rom in the above link has a kernel file....devs might wanna check up on that....pan.baidu link rom....also I need help understanding the brush tool...
edit:successfully installed the rom found on the pan.baidu link.....using the method stated there.....its a GB rom only.....though like i said this rom has a kernel file in the zip.....might be useful....
will try the w686 rom and post results.....
I think loader is to load the baseband files. I also have an ics rom for W680/686 , will upload it this week maybe

Hello,
I have searched the Motorola Atrix 2 forums for a guide/thread that will help to update my Atrix 2 to Android Jelly Bean.
I have the Cyanogen downloaded along with the required Gapps. This is one of the links that I was referring too.
http://ndroiding.com/motorola-atrix-2-mb865-update/
Now, I have the following questions;
1. How do I root my MB865? Currently I have ICS 4.0.4 (AsiaRetail) and the phone is unrooted. The ICS update was installed OTA.
2. How do I take a backup of my current ROM? I have installed ClockworkRecovery MOD (ROM Manager). The one that I have installed does not support MB865.
3. We have multiple OS(say Win7, WinXP) on one laptop and we boot whichever OS we want when we powerup. So can we do that for our
phones too?
I was referring this xda thread.. and I felt that the information given there was a bit hotch-potch. Also, this one might be old.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1396650&highlight=root+atrix+2+mb865
Can anyone post the latest thread if there is any?

That link what you posted is a custom ROM & did not look much in to it beyond that. First up everything I am posting is for non AT&T device. Be informed that our device does not have a direct fxz for JB 4.3 & what you need to do is go to the developer section & d/l official Moto stock (leaked unofficially) JB 4.1.2 then fxz via rsd to your current ICS phone (obviously you got to read all the steps, drivers, usb debugging enabled etc etc). This gets your device on JB 4.1.2 official and then install Boot Menu Manager 0.3.4 (search development thread again) & thereon read extensively on working of BMM and that point forward you are free to install any Jelly Bean 4.3 custom rom's. Good luck.

So you are on stock ICS and your phone is not ATT... You need to download jelly bean official leak 4.1.2... Install RSD lite on your windows and then install jelly bean rom . To install official jelly bean 4.1.2 , you dont need to root your atrix 2. I have tried this rom and its good.
and if you want to try 4.3 rom then you should try PA 4.3, it is good.
your second answer about rooting- I used swapper method for rooting because one click root method did not work for me.
3rd answer- Yes you can multiboot your atrix 2 for that you install BMM ( boot menu manager ) ... hope it help

Hello,
I have searched the Motorola Atrix 2 forums for a guide/thread that will help to update my Atrix 2 to Android Jelly Bean.
I have the Cyanogen downloaded along with the required Gapps. This is one of the links that I was referring too.
http://ndroiding.com/motorola-atrix-2-mb865-update/
Now, I have the following questions;
Also, there is a request to the moderators of the group. Please collect all the guides and post them together in a separate section (If it's there then sorry.. I missed it).
Thanks

Hey even my friend having atrix 2 . We both tried one click root method on 2 different Pc and laptops but we stuck on boot logo... So we use swapper method, I also suggest you to check that method. But it depends on you.. which one you like :good:

Good luck.

How many times are you going to ask this question? Do a little bit of reading for yourself and you will find that the bootloader is not unlockable. Also, if the op of the ROM says to install gapps, then install gapps. Just follow the directions, it's that simple.
If I had a dollar for every time I said that, I'd be making money in a very weird way.

Yep U can get jb looks
Yes you can get the jb UI but the 4.0+ apps won't work. You can get most of the features of jellybean.
A simple example is Ace 5830i which don't have jb but you can get UI using custom roms.
where to get the custom rom for a9220

You have to search the internet for a Custom rom or here on XDA.
I recommend XDA since almost every ROM here is stable enough to run on the specific device
thnx for reply....

He meant that can it be ported.
@saisaranp Yes brother it can be ported .
sorry for the late..how it can be ported
hey piyush,
I am actually very new to this.So is there a custom rom available anywhere or whether it should be created??
Google it........
You can check for custom roms on Google and here on XDA ........
if you find one then its nice bt if you can't find one it may be due to lack of developer support....
if your device becomes popular it will surely have many custom roms.......
the best way is to ask any developer to make custom roms ......
and if you want Cyanogen mod better ask at cyanogenmod.org forums.........
no cyanogenmod at the website

Hey everyone, I tried to port this ROM from the i9000 (Galaxy S). It's called the Smoothie ROM. I tried my best to make this ROM. The Base is the Zhao Edges Stock ROM. I just need somebody to continue development for this ROM as I have a lack of knowledge. I've uploaded it to Google Drive
The Ported ROM, or the source ROM is a CM9 Based ROM. You can find it here
In which stage is the development now.Till where did you port it?

Hey I don't think nybody will help you in porting the rom..Its just a stock like ics rom made for gs.Nobody will have any benefit porting it to a89 ninja..PLEASE NOTE THIS:The best ROM available for a89 ninja is the stock rom itself.

What is the need to port that ROM.It is not even good as the stock ics.We all know that GS does not have ics. Therefore this rom will have many bugs. Also this is a rom for GS.So porting this ROM will almost be impossible..
Meantime if you can spare some time please check out the new rom for a89 that I am releasing this april 26.You can find it in the a89 ninja development section.Hit thanks to support me.
