How to install... Better instructions here for novice..
1. Install the recovery .img
2. Use "Recovery Manager" apk to install this recovery...
3. on your sdcard there will be a folder "recoveryy" (note 'yy'), place this recover image in that folder.
4. Install from "recovery manager".
Alternative...
You can use "Android downloader" tool to directly flash the recovery...
Purpose of this recovery...... I can see only few... To clarify others doubt...
1. We can utilize latest format of updater/update scripts... while flashing....
2. It does backup of sd-ext also.. not sure if u hv observed for v2.5 or not...
3. Better and faster....
4. Most important... A recovery have nothing to do with any ROM... so it's 2.1 or 2.2 or 2.3... Its sole purpose is to backup the partition

For those who are using the recovery for first time
1. Root ur phone. check here
2. install busybox from market.
3. Install "recovery manager".. check there is a "recoveryy" folder on ur sd card is created.
4. Download the latest recovery or the v2.5 recovery.. links on my signature..
5. place the downloaded recovery in "recoveryy" folder and flash it via recovery manager..
For those recovery 5 isn't work.. try v2.5 recovery first..
Follow the instruction carefully...
A better way of doing this on the way.. stay tuned...

Sorry for d delay friends......
I did tested things.. nd all work fine.. jst usb toggle isn't work this time again..
it's detecting my sd-ext partition too... since i don't hv anything on sd-ext not sure if it will take backup.. for first few test it hvn't created any backup...
so just wanted to double sure before i post here.. that you guys don't loose ur valuable data of sd-ext..
so please b patient...

@ngage_me-yes you did that again by making a new recovery as u made earlier, just one bug as you said in the mount corner except everything is fine........

confirmed successful flashing with android download tool on micromax a60.

Stuck at Micromax Screen
I installed the recovery from Recovery Manager App.
Now I get stuck at the Micromax Boot Screen whenever I try to enter recovery.
Any solution?

@ngage_me Yours Eclair recovery is working but Froyo one is giving error in Android Download Tool and when installed through recovery manager, it is stuck in micromax logo.
Note:- In Eclairs recovery , the kernel version of froyo (in About) is not changing and everything is working.

bro i flashed the stock rom dump which u provided and i got my cell working but the thing is my sdcard is not detected and nothing is opening messages contacts camera it is showing that android.process has stopped working force close please bro tell me what to do

OK cool!!! seems u messed of few things...
Try factory reset from recovery....
else
follow this... (2.1 original rom)
1. download full dump, link available in signature..
2. In case Android tool is detecting ur phone gr888.. just flash all the image available in the zip... MAKE SURE U HIG ERASE CHECK BOX WHILE FLASHING..., else first install the usb driver available in zip...
3. then repeat the step 2.
i sure ur phone will be back on working.... u can directly flash this recovery instead of using stock recovery from zip...
later u hv all options to using ny other rom...

Can you please elaborate.....
which rom are you on.... in case froyo recovery hv problem i want to stop my Claro frnds to flash before i fix up the things....
It won't change anything in About... cauz that purely depends on boot.img and so not to worry...

@ngage_me I am using Jet 2.1 (froyo one) and yours froyo recovery is not working (not installing through ARM 11 and if installed using recovery manager it stucks in micromax logo when going into recovery), but eclair recovery is working I have taken backup from it and everything sceems fine even sd-ext was backedup.

yes cwm is now available for a110 but i haven't tried it :d (maybe root is required as i am unable to root after updating to jb 4.1.1)

pls mention the rom version and for rooting u must download the attached file
download it and extract it then connect ur fone to pc and then open runme.bat (u will get after extraction) then type 1 to root or x to unroot
other instruction can be seen on the runme.bat window

hello, i m in a big major problem. my recently phone and contact app got deleled as i was installing suvi roms contact and dialer by cwm. Now cwm is also not working nor letting me to go to stock recovery. every time when i switch my fone , the fone shows the start setup like date setting and enter language etc. and also process.android.acore has been stopped is coming. please guys help me
and also m nt gettimg sim networks. my sim management tab is faded.please guys help

i think you must re-flash your phone with the original ROM, use the software tool to do it... but what's your phone brand

Bro
You have to flash stock rom through SP Flash Tool.
Reason you have lost recovery and when you try to boot to recovery mode its going to factory mode or so called factory reset mode.
Also try to flash recovery img only through sp flash tool....

vous avez perdu vos contact et application pas de probleme reinstalle les apps mais les contact sont perdu

i did it but it didnt detected. but anyways thanx a lot. i gave it to my friend nd he already flashed it by giving it to service center. and ya 1 more thing when i installed jmp rom, i installed sbi bank app. the problem is that when ever i log in to that the screen goes blank and return after some time.

Have you checked whether that app works on other ROMS?...otherwise it's a problem of the App

At last we have got the CWM of this mobile, thanks to kamal882. Here is CWM for 454:

anybody plz help in this following points:
1) as i have already rooted my phone accidentally with other model's(iris 400) software, is it possible to root my phone with proper software?

4) after installing the custom ROM how can i reinstall the stock ROM when needed?

Does the CWM works...??You said it works....

i tried in phone but..dint work...actually rom manager dint work... here also i tried mobile uncle tool to install but dint work...so no other safe option...risky option is to try mobile odin flasher....if you can dare to try it...if works do reply me....

Finally Lava Iris X1 CWM ready!!(PORTED)

Lots of people were asking to build a cwm for iris x1...well now guys ur cwm is ready...
Thanks to patenpisan,ajaz35,n but obviously me ...
Procedure to flash recovery:-
1)root your mobile.. (If you don't know what is rooting then u should google it first)
2)download flashify app from play store.
3)give the app root permission.
4)backup your current recovery & boot.img through it.(*important)
5)now go to flash option & select recovery there...the window will pop-up asking to choose a file or dwnld custom recoveries...
6)select choose a file...browse n select your downloaded img....
7)then select file way...
8)nw app will ask you whether to flash file or not....click yup! There..
9)Taaaadaaa....reboot your phone to recovery by pressing power button+volume down (power button first when mobile will vibrate immediately press volume down)
10)nw u successfully flashed cwm on iris x1

If anyone finds a bug rather Dan screen blinking(*I mean when we reboot our phn to cwm n scroll down the menu will divided n wen backing up ROM or flashing or anything the screen blinks n not so stable) den post it..we will clear DAT bug...

But we are already rooted and these binaries mess up with already existing binaries
So don't fix root permissions.

but there is a problem when I try to backup or anything else on cwm mod the screen is divided (what should I do sorry I don't know English properly). every time on cwm mod screen is divided two part

that is the only graphical glitch in the cwm
But it is working fully.
U an use it until the issue is fixed.

[Q] accidentally Factory resetted my pre rooted micromax a110

Guys
I have a prerooted MMX a110 .when I was changing some settings in gravity box my ROM got stuck and I factory reset ted my phone .now I lost root access and also cwm recovery when I try to boot into recovery it shows that android is upgrading type progress bar and again resets my phone.. when I tried to root it again the so tool flash is not detecting my device (I get the plugged and then immediately unplugged sounds continuously ).I have a custom ROM installed with no access to army of my contacts and am not able to make any calls .pease help my guys .. PLEASE GIVE ME IF SUGGESTIONS .:crying:

i got cwm(now) but it shows i am not rooted and when i try to flash a rom it shows status 7 error.now i have wiped my data and it is not allowing me to flash any rom. :crying:
will this be corrected if i reflash cwm please reply

you need to first root your phone i suggest bin4ry by sagarwep for rooting i use it.
after that you get root access
You can do whatever you want to do man.
