Hi,
I am quite new to the topic, so I hope you bear with me. I installed an X-Note Rom (made for N8000) on my N8010. I am very happy, it works like a charm and is very fast. I have two small problems and I don't know, if these problems are caused by the ROM, the tablet or (of course) me.
1. Keyboard changes back to Samsung on each restart
I use the Swiftkey Keyboard, as a matter of personal preference. When I reboot the device it always changes the keyboard setting to Samsung. Can I change this somewhere?
2. Launcher changes back to Nova on reboot
X-Note comes without Touchwiz,it uses Nova instead. I installed Action Launcher Pro, as I prefer it. When I reboot the device, it always returns back to Nova.
Here my question becomes twofold:
1. Is there some workaround to make Action Launcher Pro the Standard?
2. Is it very hard (I want just a pointer) to change the Rom to make Action Launcher Pro the default?
Thank you for your help in navigating this unknown territory!
Best regards
Sven

After having the phone for a little over two weeks now, i think i am going to keep it. There are a few things in the software that irritate me, but overall it's a good phone.
1) I'm ready to give up on Kies. It is just not stable. It won't connect unless certain files are not on the Internal SD card and as best as i can determine, those files are generated by the Phone/Apps automatically. Even when it does connect (usually after formatting the SD card), it will randomly swap contacts' first and last names. It will also give me duplicate entries for people's birthdays in outlook Calendar.
2) The Camera on this phone does not seem to be as sharp at the 3.2MP camera on my Fuze. Its colour handling however seems to be superior. The auto White Balance actually corrects for tungsten lights fairly well. It would be nice if the volume buttons could be mapped as shutter buttons. I am also having trouble telling much difference when i set the exposure compensation. I also notice that you can't use exposure compensation and anti-shake at the same time and that is lame.
3) I tried ADW Launcher is it felt slower than TW... yes slower. Things like the phone dialer took longer to load and search. the main thing i liked about it was the sliding dock at the bottom and the ability to use the expose like preview screens. Just which is worked better. Not sure if i'll give Launcher Pro a try or not. Also, if i set ADW or Launcher Pro as my default launcher, how would i set it back w/o uninstalling?
Thanks,
4) tried a few twitter clients, but haven't found one nearly as good as pockettwit on Winmo. I loved the side swiping interface and how it would autofill the handles of people i follow when i type @and the first few letters.
Still love:
1) the screen... it is utterly beautiful
2) the call quality so far has been great
3) i'm getting more used to typing on a touch screen. I have found portrait mode is easier with swype and landscape the android keyboard
I haven't uninstalled KIES yet but will probably soon. Haven't discarded only because I wanted to try to the movie conversion engine and a few little extras. Handbrake does a very good job though.
I too have tried ADW launcer and wasn't impressed. I lost the 3d app drawer capability, which I do like. IF ADW supports it and someone care to share where the settings are, I would appreciate it.
Launcher pro gives me the ability to hide the apps that are not common or everyday use and the 3d app drawer. I have stuck with LP for the time being.
If you go into settings-applications-manage apps-and select ADW, the 4th section is the default one. Tap on clear defaults and next time you hit the home button, it will ask you which launcher to use and give you a default checkbox.
thanks for the reply. i think i might give Launcher Pro a try
You can also try home switcher. Lets you use multiple homes as well as multiple lp's, ect for a work, home, play type profile.
Sent from my AOSP on XDANDROID MSM using XDA App
I found that home switcher program, that should be useful in case i ever want to give Kies a try again. On the overall whole, i love Launcher Pro. It works great. I even paid the extra for the additional widgets.
Hi to all , since a couple of weeks I bought a new (first one) android phone. I've downloaded an app called "Lancher Pro". Anyone can explain me how to use it ?
Thanks in advance
It's a homescreen replacement. When you press the home key it should ask you if you want to open with Launcher Pro or whatever other homescreen you have installed. If you open with Launcher Pro and tick "always do this" or something to that effect it will boot into Launcher Pro the next time you restart your phone. Launcher Pro is fairly customizable and generally preferred over "stock" launchers.
In addition to the previous post. If you want return the previous launcher, you need to go to «Settings — Applications — Manage applications», find Launcher Pro and press on «Clear defaults»
hi, first off sorry that have to resort to asking you guys, but i've kind of become desperate to get this resolved (again).
first off :
i'm running android 2.3.6 on a zopo zp100 purchased from etotalk.
it's rooted and currently using go launcher (but not go locker).
on the proximus (proximus) & base (mobile vikings) networks in belgium.
the problem i'm having is that after changing the lockscreen background, i am unable to restore it to default (witch is always automatically the same as the current wallpaper) .
pretty much all search results on google keep saying people should use a custom locker (ie widget locker, go locker, ....) that i do not want, i just want it back to default.
worst of all this has happened before and i resolved it after 3 days or so but for the life of me i cant remember how
thanks in advance,
Dr zombo
Hi, all!
I, and I'm sure many of you as well, have a lot of icon themes / sets installed to my device (currently a VZW Samsung Galaxy Note 3). Lately, I've been sticking with Nova Launcher Prime, and I've noticed that I can click through a few layers of menu to see my currently active icon set. I tend to change these sets pretty often, and sometimes I can't remember which one I'm running. Now, granted the answer is only a few taps away at any given moment, but I'm interested in hooking into wherever Nova is storing that variable and making it available to Zooper Widget Pro so that I can stick it in a cute little box on my home screen.
Yes, this is more an academic pursuit than a functional necessity, but does anyone have any idea if that's doable, and even better where I would start?
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated
Thanks!
Tom.
Hello everyone,
Aller many months using my Mate 7,i'm pretty happy with, but something is annoying me. Well, I had many Samsung devises before and everybody knows that it's really easy to customise anything on it, it's not the same at all with à Huawei device.
I'm aware that Xposed Installer doesn't work properly (so sad) and i was wondering if this were any way to customise our huawei phone ?
I'm talking about True custom, Like sms settings, launcher settings, New features... Etc exactly Like GravityBox.
Thank you all
And, I noticed that the huawei launcher is sometimes refreshing Like the icons dissapear and reappear... It's so annoying ! Do you have some things similar ? Any solutions ?
I guess the easiest way to start is to install some different launcher. I use Apex launcher and pretty happy with it. Various animation effects, tons of icon packs, gestures etc. I think that Nova and others will do more or less the same.
One thing I truly miss is statusbar customization (this battery icon and text with "%" is just horrible). I've tried Flat style bar indicators module, but it does some strange things on my device (GSM signal icon disappears and other), but there are some people that have it working. You should try at least.
I don't want to change the launcher, ireally Like many ios-Like features and i'd Like to keep it.
I tried, but i can't install xposed properly, the normal install bug and the auto recovery and manual recovery neither, the emui recovery is pretty bad !
