I bought a bottle of clean screener with nice soft cloth. Does the job nicely. Fragrance free wet wipes will work nicely too.

I just use my glasses cloth. Simple as that. I dont have a screen protector either

Thanks guys. Really appreciate Your replies .
I'll look up for the screen Cleaner then.
thanks again

I try to use only a micro fibre cloth. I get them at camera stores. I use them on my dslr camera lenses, so I trust then

A little glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth works nicely...with or without screen protector.

This is strange but the GT-N8000 manual does not say, But...........
http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201208/20120806151356085/GT-N8000_UM_EU_Icecream_Eng_Rev.1.0_120806_Screen.pdf
The GT-N8013 manual on page 193 - Care and Maintenance - Cleaning solutions - Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean the mobile device. Wipe it with a soft cloth slightly dampened in a mild soap-and-water solution"
http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201302/20130212074808185/GT-N8013_English_User_Manual_MA3_F4.pdf
I just generally use a soft clean microfiber cloth to get rid of finger prints but for things that can't be removed with a dry cloth I use a biodegradable glass cleaner that does not contain any ammonia or alcohol and a clean microfiber cloth

[Q] dirt sticking to screen

Hey guys
Quite a while back I bought the case mate tough and long story short, I messed up the screen protector. I took it off and ever since then I get horrible little hairs and dirt sticking to my screen. Is there something I can use to give the screen a good clean? I just think that the screen protector may have made the screen slightly sticky. I already have a micro fiber cloth but it doesn't seem to get rid of whatever is causing it

I use the same wipes that I use on my eyeglasses to clean the screens on my cell phone and other portable devices
OR
baby wipes...just dab it a bit...and use ur microfibre cloth in circular motion
n done..
thanks i'll try it out and see how it goes!
I use alchohol wipes - they seem to do the trick
I use a little handwash soap + water, and then again with just water. The same way I clean my eyeglasses.

you can also use some after shave because it is alcohol based, it will evaporate and make the phone feel like it was new
I am using wipe from MacBookPro
You can use an lcd screen cleaner or some stuff called goo gone, i got at walmart

Special way to clean the tablet?

I've got some HDTV cleaning spray...is it okay to use on the tablet? I already have a couple times....not sure if the TF has any coating on the glass that I need to worry about.
The screen gets squeaky clean...and takes some using to feel sick again...probably from the oil on the fingers.
There is no coating on the glass.

I just windex on my tablet, just spay a paper towel or microfiber towel with a few squirts and wipe it down.
I use Windex, vinegar and water, Rain-X, or anything that's handy.
i found a pack of these at walmart on sale for about $7 or so...

little disposable lense cleaning wipes with some kind of water and cleaning solution on them. They're in individual packets so i can carry one or two with me in the transformer's case.
I use a bottle of wax and dry and a microfiber cloth. I just spray it lightly over the screen, then buff it out with the cloth. It makes my fingers just glide across the screen with ease. Also helps prevent fingerprints from building up. Been doing this for years with all of my touch screen devices with no issues at all.
I got sick of paying $8+ for cleaning sprays, so I just took one of the empty bottles and put half water and half rubbing alcohol. Works GREAT! Especially after my 4 y/o nephew puts his boogers all over it!

I wouldn't recommend windex on any touchscreen, it leaves a thin residue which after a while will affect the touch sensitivity.
cleaning
I use a nice soft lint free cloth and give it 2 to 3 sprays of general purpose window (errr no not that ms window!!) cleaner .....
put the cloth in a sealable bag and it lasts for months....
the 500ml bottle should last about 250 years.......
I read this article a couple of weeks ago on LifeHacker, they also say 50/50 mix of distilled water and white vinegar, but I didn't try it yet.
isn't vinegar acid based? won't this harm the device screen?

I also get this response whenever I mention it to my geeky friends . I figured more people did this.
I have been using turtle wax and dry on my transformer since I got it in August. I clean the screen with the wax about 2 or 3 times per week. I also clean the keyboard dock with the wax; I love the smooth feel the wax gives. Also used the wax on all of my devices in the past (iPod touch 1st gen, 2nd gen, 4th gen, Droid X, and my wife's iPhone 4). The only issue I have ever had is that the wax makes the screen a bit more glossy.
Try it out. You can always remove the wax with a bit of isopropyl.

Here a smudge, there a smudge, everywhere a.....

Anyone else noticed that if you do use your Note 10.1 with your finger instead of the stylus, it's smudge city?!??! Compared to my spouse's ipad, it's like night and day. If we both use our tablets for 20 minutes, then turn them off, the ipad shows very few faint smudges, while my note 10.1 looks like grease on top of grease.
What i really want to know is if anyone has found a great screen cover/film that doesn't in any way inhibit the stylus but that is more smudge free than the glass as it comes.
Of course most of the time when the screen is on and bright you don't notice the smudges, but if you go to watch a movie then anytime there's a dark scene the smudges are VERY annoying.
Thanks,
Eric
Well the upside is that with the gorilla glass a simple wipe on the pant leg and all smudges are gone. I have never used an iPad before so cant comment but any Android tablet or phone i have ever used gets filthy pretty fast. We humans are oily creatures.
Sent from my GT-N8013 using Tapatalk 2
I don't notice smudges on the glass at all and I rarely use my stylus.
funny, i was noticing how smudge resistant this note is compared to 10 of my other devices lol.
Same here
I also see the smudges everywhere. I just keep a microfiber cloth with me and am constantly wiping it clean. Using the Pen instead does help a lot.

Yes, it does get a lot of smudges. Two things, either matted screen protector or micro fiber cloth will do the job.
Sent from my GT-N8000 using xda app-developers app
Yes i have noticed alot of smudges. I dont use screen protectors but i do use Rainx ( 2-3 coats) on a clean screen and smudges are less and it is a lot easier to get rid of the ones you do get. you will need to coat is every couple of weeks. A couple drops on a rag- Wax on wax off...:fingers-crossed:
You can find it in most auto sections in stores. Been using it a long time and swear by it.
As is in every aspect of life every person has a different constitution of her/his finger grease. So You can't compare another one's iPad with Your 10.1 AND MOST IMPORTANT !!!!! almost all Screens of Tabs and phones are the same gorilla glass.
So why should one screen be more susceptible to finger grease than others if it's always the same glass ?

A piece of cloth designed for cleaning glasses in oneĀ“s pocket will do an excellent job too, one swipe and the GG is clean
i've used rain-x since the old nook color. it doesn't stop streaks, but makes them come off easier. i quit using it after someone said that i could destroy the oiliph-something coating that supposed keep it streak free. but since it doesn't work well i may just go back to the rain-x. and my ipad does get just as smudgy, it's just easier to clean.
Lol if there is a coating on here that is supposed to keep it streak free it isn't working.
Sent from my GT-N8013 using Tapatalk 2
I use the small yellow bottle of rainX for windshields- original glass treatment. and place a couple drops on a rag and wipe in on and wipe it off. repeat 2-3 times and glass is smooth as butter and - for me- alot less smudges- and yes the ones you do get come off alot quicker.
I have used it on every device i have owned and never had issues with coating etc....
Yes a dry rag will work too- but you wont have to use the rag as much if you coat with Rainx. just saying.
Now when it comes to flu-season: get a hand disinfectant liquid, use it always before You tap Your screen and You'll be smudgefree and free of flu :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
I always use that after i .......... nvm.. just know its like baking soda, used for everything! : D
we don't see things as they are; we see things as we are.
LOL - so the consensus is just that I have very dirty, oily hands! Thanks for that. Well, I "heard" that the ipad glass has an anti-smudge coating, but that was from an i-everything fanboy so who knows. I wondered if our gorilla glass screen was treated differently for some reason because of the stylus. Doesn't sound like it.
I do use a micro-fiber cloth and yes, it does remove the smudges, especially if used in conjunction with a tablet/laptop screen cleaning solution. I just didn't know if someone had a recommendation for a screen film that was anti-smudge, but I didn't really want to use one of those anyway as I'm afraid it would effect smoothness of use with stylus.
Still debating the rain-x idea. Never thought of that. Like the idea - little worried about long term effects.
Okay, I'm going to go wash my dirty, oily hands again now...
FWIW, I have very dry hands which would account form the lack of finger prints. On top of that, I rarely eat junk food. When I did have some chips the other night my screen showed the prints.

A tip for installing Glass Screen protectors

Yesterday i bought the Spigen glass.tr screen protector
it's a dry protector and no wet solution needed
the biggest problem any one can had is the dust under the screen protector
anyway
i installed the protector after cleaning my phone screen very carefully and i was sure that there was no dust there
and of course after the installation there was some dust between the protector and the screen
i was very mad . it's a 30$ protector
i removed the protector and using some alcohol (the white one that u can find in any drug store )
i cleaned the protector
then i made sure that the protector stays wet with the alcohol and i applied it then used the squeegee to remove any small drops of alcohol between the screen and the protector
and now its perfect no dust and no bubbles at all
i wanted to share this with everyone having trouble applying his glass screen protector

Thanks for the tip! I just ordered mine yesterday and was looking for a solution to this ahead of time. This should work great!
So no hazing or issues with the alcohol coming in contact with the edges (case or what have you)?

How did you remove it? Most stories I've read of someone removing have led to a problem in the area where they first pried it up.
Usally whn this happens i just get tape and stick it under the screen protector without removing it totally or screen and remove the dust. And lay the screen protector again. Always works for me.

Mime ghost glass comes with an anti-dust film. All I did to install was wipe the screen down to remove oils, stick on the film and remove it, and put the glass on. Not a single bubble or spec of dust on the first try.
Great tip!
One has to be OCD about cleaning, to ensure dust free surface before application!
I was able to install it in one go without any dust particles!
I had it in a very well lit room on my workbench with table lighting + my ledlenser headlight looking at the screen from various angles and gave a final wipe with the included mf cloth ( had cleaned the screen prior to final wipe with included ipa swab quite a few times)just before removing the film to install glas.tr.
Not to mention I minimized airflow throughout the room which really helped to prevent dust movement and recontamination of the screen surface!

not if you dust is on the middle
and if you have a cat or dog , it will be a miss
i use your method always when there is dust at the corners or edges so it easy to remove it
Thanks for this. I ruined and discarded a glass screen protector because I tried to remove dust using the old tape method. By the time I was done so much other stuff had landed on the sticky side that I gave up. I then tried water but it was too sticky to make a difference. I may buy another one now knowing I can use rubbing alcohol!
If you're really nuts about no hazing from alcohol then use some true 190 proof Everclear.
Also, use a bunch of bursts from a can of compressed just before you apply the protector, but be careful to not blow anything on the exposed backing.
I would use an isopropyl or ethyl type alcohol, no acetone.
I've always just gone into my bathroom, run the shower at hot until the mirror glass begins fogging up, clean off my phone screen, apply the protector.
The steam will weigh down the dust particles in the air allowing you to install your screen protector without finding dust immediately after you just cleaned it.

That sounds like an interesting idea too. Only downside I might see is if the steam gets between the glass and the phone, and the steam is from impure water (no tap water is perfectly pure), and those mineral deposits become visible in between the glass someday. But I'm probably overthinking it. Will have to do an install myself in a few weeks, tough to decide between the steam room and the alcohol methods.

That's why I said "as soon as the mirror starts to fog up" instead of "wait until everything's so foggy you can barely see in front of your face".
You can also wait until you start seeing some steam, then open your bathroom door a crack and turn off the shower. That'll stop the accumulation of steam but still allow you to proceed with the installation.

How do you clean your Nexus 4

I found that the nexus touchscreen attracts tons of fingerprints compared to other phones. It may just be my screen protector, who knows, but I was wondering how do you guys properly clean your nexus ?
I just simply wipe it down real good with microfiber cloth. I need to find a way to extract the dust from the front speaker grille. I've tried gum method but didn't help

First you said its the touchscreen, then you said its your screen protector. Buy a higher quality oleophobic screen protector like Spigen. You can carry a microcloth with you as well.

I just use the corner of a piece of paper, such as a PostIt note, and gently run it the length of the gap.
Glasses cloth. If really sticky, soap & water and glasses cloth
Get a keyboard co2 dust spray???
I wonder if you could apply an oleophobic coating on a screen protector? Like I bought the spigen crystal cause I figured the oleophobic one would lose that layer eventually anyway just like glass screens. But if you could DIY it you could get whatever screen protector you want and then just buy the spray.

I lick the screen with my tongue and wipe it dry on somebody's shirt. Works with any phone, difficult with tablets though.

My compressor set to 100psi...although a can of dust off should work
I used an old toothbrush and it cleaned it pretty good.
I generally just wipe it off with my shirt... if I'm at home I'll give it a good lick and wipe it off. Way serious.
