finally i'm here with TOUCH based TWRP recovery for our LAVA Iris 501...
Actually its ported from Lewa based MTK device.... Everything is working....
What is TWRP recovery ??

Woow, how to install ??
* Download zip
* extract it to root of your SDcard
* Install Mobile Uncle Tool (its inside zip)
* open > Update Recovery > Choose recovery_TWRP_by_akash.img
* Reboot when prompted
Whats next : I will Update recovery to latest version soon...

Yes, It will work. I already tested with Lava Iris 501 Jellybean 4.1.1

Mainly recovery doest depend on system so non matter whatever ROM or firmwere you are using it doesn't affect....

as fas as i know you cant flash one firmware recovery to another( Gb to ics or JB) specially on samsung phones. coz their kernal confined with it.

but ICS Recovery works flawlessly in JB lava iris.... may be its depend on device....

extract and copy update zip to ur sd card thn .goto settings >hcl me tablet info>system update>check for update>update...>ok...now your tab will automatically turn off....don't worry .....wait for a moment and turn it on by pressing and holding the power button......and wait for the upgradation process......(remember lz check ur serial number before downloading the rom...if u r using hcl me y3 v1.0 thn don't upgrade with Serial_No_Series_113YCE005001_onwards.rar (3rd one from above) ...it will brick ur Device .....it is only for HCL me y3 V.2.0)....so plz do these steps at your own risk:good:

rooted my phone through VROOT. it did work but im still trying to see where to get CMW for this. btw, i followed instructions over the web cause it seems like we dont have that much info about lenovo a316i in here. i mean for rooting... I only saw one article that has lenovo a316i and thats http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2798542 other than that everything is blur or not clear.

Succesfully ROOTED with Vroot
I've succesfully ROOTED my phone with Vroot. Uninstall all system software that not using. It works flawlessly.

sigh....
After rooting my phone I was able to use it okay for some couple of days. after that it messed up the battery. I don't know what to do. even on 58% it would turn off if somebody calls as if its low battery. now i don't use it anymore. its stocked up somewhere in our drawers.

[Q] Root Oplus XONPHONE 5?

Hello Experts,
I am fan of XDA forums. I have rooted XOLO Q 800. Awesome phone.:good: But now I bough new Oplus XONPHONE 5.
This is also a nice gadget with following specifications.
Dual SIM Dual Standby
Quad-Core 1.3 GHz Cortex A7 MTK 6582
Ram-1 GB
Internal Memory-16 GB
and also flooded with unwanted apps. I wan to root this device. I have tried may apps available on the forums, but nothing is working for this one.
Other brands in same category i.e. Mircomax A106 which has MTK6582M, XOLO Q1010I - MTK 6582 and Samsung Galaxy Core 2- MTK 6582.
Can any one suggest if I root XONPHONE 5 with root methods available for above mentioned devices as they have MTK 6582 common. Is that safe and will be a successful root?

If you are into custom ROM’s there are no custom ROMS available for this as of now, but if you want to root the XonPhone 5 tho, you can use the TowelRoot method to root it. I’ll link a thread on XDA with the tutorial here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/microma ... st55396787 )
