[Q] Cannot RUU running 1.73 with hboot 2.14 - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

How can this be possible? I'm running 1.73 but my hboot says 2.14. I tried using the 3.18 RUU to update to Jelly Bean but got an image error (158) then I tried to run the 2.20 RUU but I get a bootloader error (140). I understand hboot 2.14 is from 3.18 but I'm running 1.73, how can It be? Is there anything I can do to update my phone to Jelly Bean? Please help. Thank you.

As long as you are S-ON you cant downgrade HBOOT any way...not even by running a RUU
as you are 1.27 HBOOT....you can try JB SOFF noob proof guide here
then once you obtain SOFF you can run any RUU
Also for running RUU ...your cid should match the RUU's otherwise RUU will fail
if you are superCID and SON then any ICS RUU runs
or
if you are superCID and SOFF then ANY RUU will run for you
use JB soff and then you can downgrade you hboot by flashing 1.18 firmware

[Q] return to stock problem 155

Im trying to return to stock
villec2
hboot 3.01
radio 16.09.20.11_m2
trying to use ruu
RUU_VILLEC2_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.15.401.100_Radio_16.21.20.02U_16.09.20.11_M2_release_286571_signed
comes with error 155
extracting the ruu says the hboot it comes with is hboot_2.11.0000_I04a6df2_0914_signedbyaa.img
so i assume im on too high a hboot but why and how has it upgraded? I thought since i came from 4.04 ruu that i could go back?
nevermind found out hboot got updated whilst doing a testing procedure with a dev. updated all the firmware manually.

[Q] Trying to update from Hboot 1.09 s-off

I want to flash to CM 10.1. I'm currently running a viper rom.
I am on android 4.1.1 with hboot 1.09 with s-off but understand that I need to be on a hboot of 1.28 or newer. I am having trouble figuring out what I need to do to update my bootloader and don't want to mess up and brick being that I'm s-off. My cid is 11111111. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance

I do not believe that is not a valid hboot number (1.28) for the dual core Snapdragon EVITA.
Be careful, I suspect you are mixing up instructions for EVITA with ENDEAVORU (the quad core Tegra3 version).
