Hello
Is there a way we can get the status bar to hide automatically, and then swipe from the top when it's needed?
Similar to the app: smart status bar.
But, instead of the killing the system ui, can we just get the status bar as an overlay over the screen that will disappear soon? And then we swipe and it overlays?
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, I wasn't sure where to request this.
Thanks!

Thanks for the reply!
Similar, but that doesn't do what I'm asking.
I was planning on having the status bar with the description above, and then GMD gestures.

Anyone know an app that hides the status bar when an app or video for example needs to use the entire screen? Automatically. Similar to a feature in cyanogen 9??

Is it possible to hide the notification bar when some apps are running?i know custom launchers allows us to hide the notification bar when the user is at the home screen. But while invoking apps the notification bar again comes up.
I was just wondering whether its possible to hide the notification bar in all cases so as to effectively utilize the entire screen area while running some of the apps.

Hi all,
I wondered if it's possible to remove the bottom navigation bar. I'm using the latest CROMI 4.5.
Most threads say to use the full screen apps, but these remove the status bar also which I wish to keep. So ask in all I'd like to keep status bar I.e on 4.2 but remove the navigation bar and instead use LMT.
Thanks
Edit: solved with app GMD HIDE SOFT KEYS.

I suggest using GMD Gesture Control. It enables you to use gesture to hide/reveal your status bar and such with ease. It also allows you to modify what gestures do what on your tablet. It's VERY convenient.
I hope this helps!
Edit: Oh oops, I missed seeing the edit part. Same branded apps, still works. lol
Yeah! Got it sorted so was okay in the end! Thanks for the GMD tip though.
So I rooted my Verizon s3 to cm 10.1, and so far I LOVE it! But I want to be able to disable the status bar. The issue I'm having is that I won't be able to see if I have a text message or anything. I've looked everywhere for and answer and haven't been able to find one. Is there a notification like on the stock where it will show me how many messages I have on the icon itself, not just in the status bar? I've looked everywhere in the settings too but can't find anything. Thank you.

Stock launcher does not contain unread counts on icons. Need to use a third party launcher.
Grab Nova launcher and the Telsa unread plugin.

Thanks guys. I just wanted to get rid of my status bar but still know when I receive a message. Should have simplified the question. Sorry.
You could get rid of the status bar for specific apps using Xposed framework and the App Settings module. You could even use Floating Notifications to have notifications in a Halo-esque manner.

Dude that's exactly what I suggested. You could hide the status bar. There is a setting for that in Nova launcher settings. Then using the telsa unread plugin you would get message counts and missed call counts on the icon itself

Xposed is still not supporting lollipop yet, gravity box doesn't work. Pie is not supporting L either.
I have been spoiled by pie and full screen. Any current alternative solution? Thanks!

I've install but dont find how to hide the original navbar ? Thx
solution
Been trying to figure this out recently myself.
The below 2 apps have worked for me. Must be rooted though.
I have a htc one m8.
1. Softkey enabler by Fate Development Group (disable softkeys)
2. Pie control by Coolace (run at startup)
Only side affect I see is I cant seem to have a pin security lock anymore. Pattern works though.
Im looking for fullscreen aswell, full immersive mode causes issues with the keyboard on lollipop, i think the issue is the navbar but i can disable the navbar but cannot get the status bar to act immersive on its own. I can use GMD to get full immersive but causes issues with the keyboard due to the immersive navbar. Is there an app that makes only the status bar immersive or a way to edit an .apk to disable navbar immersive whilst keeping status bar immersive?
You can get near with nova prime. It dumps the top bar and makes bottom transparent
Look here.
