Lollipop Full Screen? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Xposed is still not supporting lollipop yet, gravity box doesn't work. Pie is not supporting L either.
I have been spoiled by pie and full screen. Any current alternative solution? Thanks!

I've install but dont find how to hide the original navbar ? Thx

solution
Been trying to figure this out recently myself.
The below 2 apps have worked for me. Must be rooted though.
I have a htc one m8.
1. Softkey enabler by Fate Development Group (disable softkeys)
2. Pie control by Coolace (run at startup)
Only side affect I see is I cant seem to have a pin security lock anymore. Pattern works though.

Im looking for fullscreen aswell, full immersive mode causes issues with the keyboard on lollipop, i think the issue is the navbar but i can disable the navbar but cannot get the status bar to act immersive on its own. I can use GMD to get full immersive but causes issues with the keyboard due to the immersive navbar. Is there an app that makes only the status bar immersive or a way to edit an .apk to disable navbar immersive whilst keeping status bar immersive?

You can get near with nova prime. It dumps the top bar and makes bottom transparent

apps to hide status/menu bar ?

now we have root, we'll finally be able to use apps to hide status/menu bar.
I've found several ones and don't know if someone already test them on Thinkpad ?
- HoneyBar (not test yet)
- StatusbarToggle (don't succeed to use it, long press on search button don't do anything)
- Hide Bar (cannot show back the status bar by swyping the bottom of the screen, maybe I should try this)
- TabletBar Hider (hide with rotation; not tested)
- script for Tasker (I don't have tasker)
- hide the system bar via power menu (not tested)
and another one I forget te name (but that cause me to wipe the tablet because power button doens't seems to work correctly anymore...)
I'm using Honey Hide Widget ( https://market.android.com/details?...251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS52bGFyYS5ob25leWhpZGUiXQ..) By far one of ugliest apps I've seen but works great.

Also using this app. Yes it is a tad ugly, but works wonderfully and it is quite small.
Honey hide widget just works, thats my choice, very simple too.
Thanks for this widget, works good (but I don't understand why using 2 buttons? One would be enough...)
For the moment, I find that hide bar and honey hide are the bests.
Honeybar causes some lag and most video player have also the play button on the bottom center of the screen.
And I remember the apps that I suspect to makes my power button not working, it's "no system bar".
HoneyHide Widget has been updated to address your concerns
So far I've tried HoneyBar and HoneyHide Widget. Both work well, but I prefer a clean home screen, so I'd rather use an app than a widget.
The new HoneyHide Widget does work well with the hard Home button on the TPT.

How do you use it? It did not appear in the app or widget list after installing.
e: required a restart is all.

I have the same question. Any app or way to hide ics status bar?
There is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1487647&page=4 this thread but as it is a custom settings panel, probably it won't contain the 'pen only' button anymore etc. Did anybody try this?
Or can anybody do a version for the thinkpad ics?
Or any other solutions?
Thanks

GDM HideBar (it is the same as the one used in the GDM gesturecontrol, only that this is free and is only for hiding the bar)

Lock Screen Slider

Does anyone know how to customize the lock screen slider so it will open apps instead of just unlock? I've done it on my galaxy tab 2 I dont see why I cant do it here.

Download Widget Locker?
I don't really want widgets but that's what I'm doing for now. Apparently we can't change the slider til custom Roms come out

i've been looking for the same answer. it's a bit silly you cant customize the lock slider with just stock Os. that was quite a disappointment...and now i'll probably go back to Cyanogenmod 11 when it comes out. really miss those shortcuts.
also, another small quib...i miss the little persistent play store icon in the apps menu.
cool feature with 4.4 is uninstalling apps from the app menu with contextual menu from icon press.

Don't believe one comes with the nexus 5. Will have to get one off the play store probably.
It isn't a stock feature, you will have to download one.
alright, thanks
It's weird that it isn't stock. Flashlight and a compass should now be essential like the calculator.

Agreed.... If you consider a calculator a "tool" app Google then make a great flashlight one.

TeslaLED is great. I also am using HD Widgets in Text Clock / Switches mode on my lock screen, which allows me to put a flashlight button on the lock screen.
I'm using Power Toggles until a stable cutstom ROM comes out that I can place Torch as a Quick Setting tiles and have the notification drawer default to Quick Settings as opposed to the notification drawer.

Widgetsoid does this, and has a native flashlight app.
Moderators don't mean to spam widgetsoid everywhere, but it solves the problems listed in all these threads.

[APP][5.0+][FOSS] Lean Launcher, the customisable Pixel Launcher

Download Lean Launcher from the Google Play Store
If you prefer the debug version, no worries, you can download it from Github, here. Look for "LeanLauncher-1.0.0-5-play-debug.apk"!

Huge thanks for the excellent work of Amir, without his work, I don't think Lean Launcher would have been born.
Full feature list:

- dynamic shortcuts on support devices
- extra shortcut option to edit or uninstall apps
Dynamic icons on supported devices

- swipe down for quick settings with two finger

Google Now

- change search provider
- colored G icon
- hide app search bar
- hide app suggestions

Other
- allow home screen rotation

- toggle navigation bar transparency
- lock your desktop to prevent accidental changes
- double tap to lock
What has happened since 0.3.0?
First of all, I wanted to create two companion apps, one for At A Glance (this is ready), one for Google Now. Sadly, so far all of my implementations sucked for one reason or another, so I still need time for that. If you can't live without Google Now, I suggest you to use the debug build from Github. If you don't really care, use the Play Store version.
But than, Amir released version 3.2 of Rootless Pixel Launcher, so I changed my mind: rebase Lean to make use of 3.2, and implement a few more requested feature. Look at the changelog, I think it looks nice.
What's next?
I have my eyes on two things:
stabilization, this is the most important. I have now included crash reporting in the builds, so I can monitor if I need to act on something.
proper implementation of Google Now companion app.
TL;DR: Download Lean Launcher from the Google Play Store!
This launcher runs flawlessly on my Pixel 2XL! Just one question - is there a way to turn off at a glance? The option in Lean setting is grey so I cant turn it off. I'm using the debug version 1.0.0-5 from github (the google now page works perfectly btw)
Thanks! I like that icon size can be changed and also the double tap to lock!

This is a mishap from my side, in the next version, you will be able to turn it off!
It seems at a glance weather is not working in the debug version even after installing and launching the companion app...
Running playstore version, everything ok till now. Thnx!
Cheers

That's weird, it should pick up messages from the Google app sooner or later. Once it only started to work for me after I launched the Google app manually, than launching the companion app one more time. Does that maybe help?
Really loving the 0.3.0 version. I have a request. Is it possible to turn off the scroll bar in the app drawer? Scroll bar is really messing up the immersive experience for me. May an option to toggle in the settings.
Thank you for lean launcher
Awesome launcher smooth! My weather doesn't show, any work around?
Hi,
Your Pixel launcher runs really smooth on my Note 8 (and I've tried others Pixel launcher less smooth for me), great work!
I love the options already present, maybe an option to change per app icon, but maybe not a good idea to clutter your launcher with a ton of options and loose the performance...
I prefer stability and performance instead of having options slowing down the launcher.
keep up the good work and thanks again! :good::good::good:
@Anand durai: I will see about that, not yet sure.
@fullmetal509: For the weather to show, you need to install a companion app, which you can download here. After installing it, launch it once, and then it should start to receive and forward messages from the Google app to Lean Launcher!
@Manson79: actually, per app icon change is planned for the future
the Google Now page not changing dark mode
Google now page looks like old design compared to Rootless Pixel Launcher
I can't install the LeanGlance APK, it just keeps saying the package is corrupt. I am running the debug version and I've tried using older versions but nothing seems to work. I'm using an S8+, if that's significant.

Do you have any other Pixel Launcher variant installed? If yes, you will have to uninstall that first, since the companion app has to have the same package name in order for it to be able to receive and forward messages from the Google app!
Love the app
Would love the ability to change the app drawer to transparent an grid sizes
the playstore version is really smooth
Have you considered making a toggle to have a transparent dock, preferably rounded edges just liket the Android P launcher ?
Feature request: to be able to move the dock search bar up to the top of the home screen like in pic attached but obviously with the actual Google search bar, I'm just using a widget from playstore.
Thanks for this launcher I'm using it as my daily driver ?

A perfect compromise between the too simple stock Android launcher and the too "complicated" Nova launcher !
There are just the usefull settings in this launcher !
Thx a lot !
Been using this since yesterday and I must say it is damn well smooth added with flux white substratum theme it's looking sweet! hope you can add Android P like dock and other P launcher features in the future. Keep it up! good work and thank you

You can set the dock to transparent: Settings > Look & Feel > Hotseat background > Transparent. However, I think you mean translucent, like the P preview launcher is. That is planned, but for now, I'm waiting for Google dropping the latest launcher sources.

P features are planned for later, first Google will have to drop the latest sources for it. After that, I'll most likely rebase to it, and the launcher will have the latest look & feel.

You're not likely to find that as it would have to control the actions on a system level across all apps. Android simply isn't built for that yet.
I use native immersive mode with GMD Gesture Control for swipe navigation with no nav bar (swipe up to show it), very customisable. Needs root. Generally good at recognising the gestures.
