Star B92M Kernel Development - Android General

Dear All,
I'm also looking to customize the kernel for overclocking and maybe CM10.1. I have found the kernel source for other Chinese phone TSL S600, TCL S710, TCL S800, which has similar spec:
CPU: MTK6577 ARMv7 Cortex-A9 Dual-core 1.0GHz
GPU: PowerVR SGX531 Ultra
Memory: 512MB
ROM: 4GB
Dual SIM
The source file can be downloaded here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/alca...?source=navbar
Maybe we can port the kernel to B92M and from there develop on the kernel.
I'm have experience in C programming(in my academic days) but no experience in kernel porting. I'm think of trying but don't know how to go about porting it. I have already setup a Ubuntu development environment and trying to compile the Kernel now.. Please feel free to try it out if you have experience with Kernel development. Please contribute and share your experience / problems here!
Let's breath life to this great device!
Stanley Lim
Cheers.

[Q] Xiaomi MI-2s // Jiayu G4s Port

Hey everyone, I am very new to porting ROMs and this is my very first attempt at it. I am trying to port Cyanogenmod 11 (4.4.2) from a Xiaomi MI-2s to a Jiayu G4s. I've been reading as much as I can from different sources and from what I've understood. When porting a ROM, you mainly just need both ROMs to be the same CPU type (In this case: ARMv7). But other sources and information around suggest that doing such a port isn't that simple at all?
- Xiaomi MI-2s
CPU: Quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300
- Jiayu G4s
CPU: Octa-core 1.7 GHz MTK6592
Could someone please explain, because I am starting to believe that my little project is impossible..
Can I port the Xiaomi MI-2s ROM to a Jiayu G4s?

I would start by using a source phone that already has MIUI support and the same MT6592 System on Chip. There is already at least one MIUI ROM for the G4S in the forums at this link http://www.592zn.com/. Use Google Translate to read the forum if needed - I certainly had to.

Unfortunately I can't find much information about you're phone and no cyanogenmod builds exist for it. All I can suggest is for you to ask in the Q&A forum if any developers would be kind enough to build CM for you if you're unable to do so yourself. You'd have to list as much information as possible about the hardware. Good luck, I hope someone out there will be willing to help build CM for you

Avvio L500

Hi.. well can you made a llolipop rom for avvio l500 5" pulgadas
1gb ram 4 rom qualcomm snapdragon 400 1.2ghz andreno 305..
Or can you tell me a similar rom...this phone is made in colombia..thanks
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
If you want a custom ROM made for your device because there are none already available then you will have to ask around in the forums to find someone willing, they will have to have one of the devices to get he ROM working properly, you may have to donate a device for them to do. Or you could learn to Port ROMs for yourself or even learn to build a ROM from source if the source for your device is available.

Build LineageOS for Amlogic M3

Hi guys!
Wanna build something fresh for my JXD S5110(Amlogic M3 8726M ARM Cortex A9 1GHz CPU, 3D graphics acceleration ARM Mali400 hardware GPU, 512MB DDR3).
All current firmwares have kernel 2.6.34, but I found kernel 3.10.33 with that chip support, which I suggest can be used to build at least KitKat: openlinux.amlogic.com:8000/download/ARM/kernel/m3-2015-03-25-901e2d54cf/
So my questions are:
1. Is it really possible to build KitKat with that kernel?
2. Is it possible to use that kernel with newer Android releases?
3. Is it possible to somehow adopt newer kernels for that chip?
Don't have enough comments to post that to developers' forum, so writing here.
Thank you
