Hey Everyone,
Whenever I update to any version of cm7 and flash a new kernel with it I lose APN connectivity... I can't manually connect either. No 2g/4g nothing. Wifi is fine. I've tried multiple versions of cm7, etc. I don't have the same issue with Eagle 1.0.4 and/or Team Whiskey, flashing back to stock, etc. but anytime I try to check out CM7 I can't get it going! I figure it's something simple but does anyone have any ideas so I can try to get some OC going! Lol...
Thanks Everyone...

It's already been reported. A mod will move it shortly. Next time post in the Q&A section. This area is for Development only...hence the name.
Try it without the kernel.
- BFL
I've been recently having the same problem.
Not a problem, this was a question concerning development and more or less the roms I'm downloading from this section hence I posted it here... won't happen again.
As for flashing w/out the kernel, I thought you needed another kernel to run cm7 with? I'm trying to overclock basically which I can't do on the stock kernel either.... so I'm not really sure what to do but I'll see if I can flash back to gingerbread, get my data going and flash back to cm7 w/out using any new kernel... have to make sure the rom doesn't autoinstall the new kernel either when you flash the rom
Update the apn settings for t-mobile. You can find them online just by looking them up. Try that.

What works for me is a hard reboot. Hold volume up and power for 8 seconds. Apn should be there when you boot back up (usually). I have this issue with stock and any other kernel
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
SOLVED!
I had the exact same issue and fixed it by installing the SIM card that came in the GX2 box.
I had been using my Nexus One SIM up to that point. The T-Mobile customer service rep told me that the G2X needed the updated SIM card and that without it, there would be data issues when not on Wi-Fi.
Write the SIM card information down before installing it in the G2X and calling T-Mobile (or whoever is your service provider) b/c they need the serial number in order to properly provision the phone.

Worked like a charm!!! Thank you!!
Simple yet effective lol
Finally up and running on cm7 with no apparent issues to report!
Also I found out that going into settings, into the apn settings, pressing menu then reset to default seem to kick it outta limbo
Great info everyone, thanks!
I'm still working on getting the market up and running on cm7, but otherwise everything is running really clean!
Thread moved to proper forum.
I have the same issue, and only on CM7..
Other Stock roms work OK for 3G
I have 2 sims - one uses regular APN setting (supplied from simcard) the other one is manual
The one that uses default (simcard) apn worked once after first install..
Than doesnt work..
VOL up + power didnt do the trick..
Whenever I put the custom APN simcard, it doesnt apply the settings..
Very weird..
I'm using the SIM out of my G2x box. Maybe it helps a little but it still happens when coming from a reboot, wifi, or airplane mode.
When you go to Mobile Networks, it won't connect to any of the listed networks.
This is already known and discussed, but to put a solution to this thread:
Go into Mobile network.
Let it scan
Select ANY network, it will error
Select Automatic until it reconnects again
Done.
Once it reconnects, you should be able to go into APN settings and see "Simple" and "T-Mobile". Sometimes if you can you select "Simple" then select "Tmobile" again, it speeds things up.
Works EVERY time. Sucks it requires this most of the time but it only takes a second and will stay connected for as long as the phone is turned on.
Hard reset (VolUP+Power) didnt work..
Is it a problem with their firmware?
I require custom APN's on my Network operator -- stock (or eagle blood/team bionics) work great, but CM7 doesnt for some reason..
Cant figure out why..
Even 7.1 RC0

APN's won't stick until you do what I said above. Once you disconnected and reconnect, APN's should pop up. If you created your own APN, it should THEN be displayed.
Even customs APN's won't be displayed until you disconnect/reconnect using the methods above.

I feel like we're missing a step here. There isn't anything to select, unless you go under Network Operators or Access Point Names. APN is blank for me, so i can't select anything, and doing anything under Network operators doesn't work...
Ok guys, having a pretty weird problem here. Thought I'd try and get some help here.
I was on my HTC Sensation today and I was looking at a few of the settings under the 'secret' *#*#4636#*#* menu on my phone. Out of curiosity, under the 'phone information' bit, I selected 'WDCMA only' (from WDCMA preferred) to test the coverage in my area. And after that, I haven't been able to get a sodding bit of reception in any way. I reset the option, restarted, pulled the battery, removed the SIM, reflashed my rom, flashed other roms, tried reflashing and flashing other firmwares, everything. No joy.
Curiously, even though I can't make or receive calls, or send or receive texts, data still works (not wifi, data) - I mean, lolwut? And WiFi works.
And there's nothing wrong with my network because my SIM works fine in another phone I have, and I've talked to Vodafone (which was a frankly useless call).
Does anybody have any suggestions? I'd really appreciate any input.
Thanks!
Update: Now data doesn't work. Humph.

Already tried that. Turns out my phone has been IMEI locked. Hmm. Which is strange given that it isn't lost or stolen...
I remember this happened to me on my Nexus One.. that i couldn't set it back no matter what i did..
Always do a Nand backup before tempering with those settings. I dunno how i fixed it but possibly i reflashed my Rom. Try that without wipe..
Sensational sent from my Sensation.
Hello.
Yesterday I decided to try out ICS and then upgrading to JB... I flashed the roms correctly but the wifi wasn't working at all so I went back to stock and the wifi wasn't working either! The weird thing is that I'm connected to the wifi and it says connected but I don't have internet connection and my laptop does has internet connection so I don't know what it is...3g is working well but my wifi is not. Also the text messages arent working well. For example I send a message at 7:10 am and when someone answers I get the message at 9:11 but it's actually 7:11 am so they go on top of the message I just sent instead of going down like it's supposed in a conversation.
Thanks in advance.

I did the factory reset and nothing... What can I do now?
Hi,
I have a 32GB Nexus5 with Android 4.4.2. It was rooted. Last night all of the sudden the phone froze up on me and when I turned it off and back on it had deleted everything in the phone and just booted up as if the phone was new (Hard Reset maybe?). That was weird. But once it booted up for some reason my phone can't find any signal. It just has a blank signal icon on the top right corner. I switched sim cards with a few friends and its not the SIM Card. I added the APN Settings for my carrier (Straight Talk) and still nothing.
It's the first this ever happened. Today I flashed back a stock 4.4.2 image to my Nexus5 and set up the phone again but still can't get any network coverage. It's as if the antenna or something got damaged out of the blue.
I'm also including screenshots of the home screen highlighting the blank signal icon and screenshots of the Phone Status page that highlight that the mobile network is unknown and other information.
If anyone has any idea what this could be, please let me know

Have you gone into the carrier menu and checked the settings are right?]
dial
*#*#4636#*#*
turn the radio off and put your settings the way they should be depending on your service and carrier
select the band option and put it to the country and then save restart radio and reboot.
If this doesnt work then perhaps the files that contain the IME (i forget what they are called) blew out.
When I had my nexus s I kept a backup of them because it was pretty regular for people to accidentally delete them
good luck

So the IMEI number for my Nexus 5 right now is 0. I called Google and they already sent me the RMA Form and will be getting a new Nexus5. However, I'm still curious as to why this may have happened all out of the blue and what steps I can take in the future to limit the chances of this happening again?
Btw... I tried to turn off the radio and continually pressed the button but never got a confirmation that it had turned off.
Best thing to do is backup your efs. And make it available to be flashed

Every time I reboot my phone, my text messaging stops working (for roughly 3-4 hours). Everything else works fine - I can make and receive phone calls, connect to the internet, etc. I've tried using 3 different SMS apps in case that was the issue, but it doesn't make a difference. I try updating the PRL, updating the profile, even reactivating but still nothing.
I've had the issue on Lollipop and Marshmallow, and this is my second GS6 Edge. Doesn't matter whether I'm connected to wifi or Sprint network. Stock ROM, not rooted. Anyone else ever have an issue like this? I thought maybe I could mess with the settings, but when I go to 'mobile networks' I don't have the option to edit or add Access Points, and Network Operators is grayed out.

Try dialing ##72786# then don't touch the phone. It will do its thing and reboot a couple times

I have tried that multiple times, but no luck. Even tried ultra power saving mode in case one of my apps is impacting my text (however, still the same issue after a factory reset so it shouldn't be an app issue).
