I brought karbonn a12 phone with ICS 4.0.4 12 days before but from the day of buying there is WiFi problems. I.e. the Wi-Fi only connects in full range. It gets connected when I m near the router. It is never connected in average or good range it needs excellent network only. But other phone like karbonn a1+ and colours x factor and Samsung galaxy pocket gets goon connection even in poor network quality. So it is not my router problem
The Wi-Fi even gets disconnected even in full range after any call.
Anyone please help.
I m new to forum so we please move this thread to proper section.
This isnt ur routers problem,so u cant do or change the wifi hardware,so the final way is contacting the service center, and get repaired...

I am shifting to Voda in Delhi.....
Where are you and whose yr Operator ???

I guess on switching on the WiFi also your phone will shutdown immediately.
You have a battery issue.

Thanks for advice

Thanks Prajith. I've ordered a new battery. I hope this will solve my problem.
About Airtel:
It seems airtel network is very confusing for HTC vox. I also use this sometimes it works properly sometimes its annoying. I've tried almost all radios. But the version I suggested above is quite good. But it seems sms and internet data is not flowing properly with this radio. I'm thinking to switch to vodafone again. Any suggestion about vodafone or Idea network.
Thanks
have no idea regarding the Idea n/w but vodafone works fine.
guys.....
my phone must be having a Hardware issue.....as after relying on the "so called 99% Solution of mine".....
I continued to have problems....
I have DUMPED the phone for now and bought Samsung.....
HTC service providors----salora..refused to repair the phone and decided that the "Main PCB" needed to be replaced ...as this is what they do for all HTC Phones...... and asked for 9000.00 Bux or about USD180....first I thought they were kidding but what the hell.....went ahead and bought Samsung....
I will continue to finger the phone and try as and when I get time different solutions and let you know if something really turs up......
Request to all the "LEARNED" in the forum...... please give your inputs for a complete solution.....
BTW..just remembered...that once while Flashing the ROM I got an error but I reboted the Phone and it Flashed the ROM fine.... after this I have flashed the ROM 3-4 times all were fine......but if that Error had anything to do with Call Drop.. ??????
Any input by the "Learned" will be highly appreciated.....
Also any other Solution will also be higly appreciated....
thanxxx
Dear seasoned Xda members,
I love my GT7+ and have enjoyed the versatility of the Android Os (my first device). As I carry the device around and (attempt to) use it at work the size is perfect. However, I have terrible issues with the WIFI. At home there is no issue - but I work in a hospital, and the device is only good for me if it can get WIFI.
Well... in the hospital it will connect to both the "guest" wifi and the "secure" wifi (for which my device has been setup), but in both cases the connection just "dies" after about 2 minutes. The only way to get on again it by re-booting the device.
I had hoped that all of the firmware updates would address the issue - and I have read that some routers are troublesome for the GT7+. Unfortunately I will have little control over what routers are being used.
The device is no use to me if I can't use it at work - and Im wondering if I should sell it or if ICS will resolve the Wifi issue.... I would appreciate any guidance even if its speculation.
[btw the device is entirely stock, not rooted, and using ADW instead of TW]
Cheers!
Here's samsung's ics update list.http://androidandme.com/2012/02/devices/official-samsung-android-4-0-update-list/. You'll probebly have to wait until Q2 or Q3 for ICS, unless someone ports CM9.

I guess it was my fault to get the WIFI only version thinking it would be easy to switch between networks. Seems like a bug that they should have wrinkled out before shipping a "Wifi-only" device.
In any case, if anyone is looking for another device to play with - shoot me an email (aliota [at] gmail.com)
I had the same issue prior. I bought this Tab twice and with both devices the same thing happened at work aswell. At home it was working perfect. At work any wireless connected but dropped in like 2 minutes. Very Frustrating. I was actually thinking of picking it up again assuming the issue had been fixed..

Have you tied to do a factory reset on the device and then reconfigure the wifi connections? I bounce between many wireless networks during my day and the connection is stable.
I did have a few reboots until I set the wifi to turn off with the screen and never to turn off when charging, now the device is rock solid.
I believe that once ICS is dropped there will be some custom firmwares (ROMS) available for the device. Every new device I see posts like this where there is one feature or another that is flaky, once the developers start working their wonders on it the device becomes wonderful. The biggest hold up right now for development is the WiFi driver. Based on history of other devices, eventually that will be overcome as well.

Interesting... I've tried this in the past without any luck, but will try again. I really want to keep the device because it is quite powerful and the 7" size makes it much more portable than a 10"+ tablet.
Thanks for the feedback.
I have noticed some wifi issues with mine also but they dont seem to big of a deal for what I use mine for. I would really recommend keeping it as it is duel-core, lightweight, can even fit in some pockets.
But rather you keep it or not I suppose depends what you use your tablet for mostly I suppose.
Hello all members,
My device has this problem, when I try to connect to WiFi it says "Avoided Poor Internet Connection", unlike other phones which say Left Click>Advanced>Untick the avoided poor internet connection, my HTC seems to be no option. I tryto search in the device for another options that might could do but i havent find none...
I have eard that HTC One X use to have some poor wifi signal but this is NOT the case...the wifi signal is excellent!
This issue is in fact a device problem (hardware or software) or is more a problem with my router?
Im running the original stock ROM and have all the updates available installed on it...
Can anyone help me about this problem?
Thanks in advance for the help given...

Hi all
I am having an odd issue with my Desire S..
when I tether the speeds are very slow and drop outs...
I tether a lot so it's a must for me to have good connection speed and reliable connection..
But yet even thought when browsing on the phone there are no issues and speed are great soon as I tether well it's worse then having dial up.... Downloading files on the pc or laptop rarely get above 50kbs and page loading is at times painfully slow!!! And after a while it simply disconnects any devices that are connected to it too!!!!
Now before you go blaming my network(Three) I know it's not them as if I use the same simcard in my spare phone which is a ZTE Blade 2 and another which is a Samsung ACE 2 the speeds are excellent and no disconnections...And even in my work phone(Lumia 520) it's great too...
The issue is with the Desire S... And have same issue with several roms have tried... It should also be pointed out I have the SAME issue with my HTC One V too!!!!!!
Is there some settings or tweaks I could try? Desire is running DS ICE android 4.0.3..
hoping for some input and help as getting annoying..
regards
Lohtse
Hi, I own an h60-l12 and if I transfer some file from my phone to my nas over wifi I get very slow transfer speed (100kbps). Even when I watch some video from my nas with dlna I get some buffering and this not happens with my galaxy s2 an galaxy s4.
I have read the review of the honor 6 on anandtech and they also noted a poor wifi peformance. Any solution for this problem ? Maybe a custom kernel can help...
Did you find a solution for this? Same issue here..i can't even see most Wi-Fi networks, Wi-Fi reception is too weak. .

@nothingman1976 , I've recently upgraded to the latest lolipop 5.10.1 and still have very very weak wifi signals, almost can't use the wifi if not very close to the routers. It happens with 90% of the routers.
Did you find any solution please? Is it only us or is everyone accepting this ridiculous performance? I am considering returning the phone as I no-wifi is a showstopper for me...let me know
thanks in advance!

I don't have problem with wifi signals with the 3 or 4 router I used, but even with lollipop transfer speed from my nas is very slow.
I think is a limitation of the device.
I got the same problem, but my gf and my brother got the same phone with no problem on the same router... used to work just fine, but lately it has slowed down - is it possible that the problem is external? Maybe dust has penetrated my phone? I work with metal, they dont...
