This evening I connected my phone to WiFi and I have been notified about an update. I have a Vodafone-locked handset.
This is my current phone version:

Has anyone else received this update today? Anyone know what is included in this update?
I shall download and install the update now and then post back my phone version page in this thread...
No replies? Huh, ok?
Anyway, this is what the update said it was:
And this is my version after the successful update (took about 10 minutes):
This is what I received this morning on my c625a (unlocked):
Yip i received this update last night too, appears to be a firmware & bootloader update, not os, so will need to see what the update has 'fixed'. Hopefully related to random reboots but that is unknown at this time.
Lets test and find out
btw, carrier unlocked 8x.

stuck on update screen
I've tried to install this update but the it was stuck on the update screen with the two cogs rotating... If I turn off the phone it reboots itslf imediately and goes directly to this same screen... I can't turn my phone off and can't even do a hard reset!!
Any help?
Does anyone have battery problems after this update? It seems to me that after installing there is much more battery draining. Connection seems to be improved.
Edit : seems that the battery drain is gone after I disabled some background apps.
Looks like the htc update is a step forward in the good direction. Overall satisfied with my device.
Battery drain appears to be worse post-update; however it could be Kik Messenger. Not noticed anything else beneficial though.

About 1 week ago when I checked for update manually I got the message there is. (2 small ones and after a bigger one). Several people installed it (talked to them on internet). Some days later I wanted to install it and it says there is no available. I contacted HTC but I have not got any useful answer. T-mobile Hungary. Actual one: 1.28.401.1. The update would be: 1.47.401.4.
Could anyone help me what the problem could be?
This update was peace of s....We all have now broken WIFI, that is why it dissapeared...
Up to now none of the people who intalled the update and I am in contact has noticed WIFI problem. I asked again them about it.
In Poland, on T-mobile phones, all users have broken WIFI, HTC claims to repair it soon
2-3 people answered my question up to now. Nobody has problem. It is very strange.
I also got the update message, so I downloaded the update, but when installing it my phonescreen shows an error..
Update ( 1.47.401.4 (35.39)) is still there and ready to download/install on my phone.

Based on your posts above, it seems you guys haven't changed your ROMs to any Custom ones.. Just a quick question though, has anyone of you experienced the so-called Wi-Fi Death Grip? I trying to find ways to fix it. Please check here.
Now I got the info about the available update automatically. But I am not sure I should install it. Has the previous problem of update been solved?
Anyone else getting this?
I have rooted before, but now I'm on stock 19.5.3 after FXZing from 4.2.2 to KitKat (the lose all data variety, not preserving data). Checking for updates just last week told me I had the latest version, and I haven't touched anything under the hood since then. No, I didn't use the WP Off "permanent" hack.
I am using disk encryption though...

I've seen this reported on a few sites today. The most likely explanation is that Motorola's update servers were down (maybe still are?) for some reason last night. I still haven't received the OTA; I'm patiently waiting for it to push.

I'm seeing this message but it takes several minutes from the time I tap the check for system updates button and when I see this message. In between I see the spinning wheel and "checking for available update please wait". I would suspect its probably 50 gazillion other people out there checking for system updates and the servers are just too busy.
I was having the same problem this morning. Just tried it again, tapping system update does nothing. It doesn't even open the box saying checking for updates anymore.
Same here, just now. Used the Motorola Device Manager program with a usb connection to my PC. Told me there was no updates available yet it is still listed on the web site. I did have a OTA downloaded this morning but it was only 10 MBs and it gave me errors. So it went bye bye.
What...

For what it's worth, I can't test the update myself because hours after posting this thread, my beloved LG Flex2 died.
Sometimes there's only a few lines on the screen, sometimes it boots in QHUSB 9008 mode, oftentimes it boots a little bit but then dies, etc.
The same here - with this update it was getting slower and slower. Finally today my LG G Flex 2 died - it didn't boot anymore.
Mine is fortunately still alive and i did the update but didn't really see much difference in performance and whatnot?!? Update didn't even include newer security level which is odd. I guess this update just improved something that is not very visible for common user like me. Well, update is update and i was glad to see this model isn't totally abandoned by LG

Got the update also. I think it was just for new eu privacy law.
Nothing much changed.
Just got it this morning with a May patch. After the download it took just under 30 minutes to install. So far so good.

Thanks!
Can you please share any screenshots with regard to this? One that shows the new software version, perhaps!
Sure, no problem!

Here, this is our screenshot - download is over 1 GB in size, not the typical OTA patch with security update only, take a few minutes & when finished. Continue to update & it will reboot, be sure that your battery is 80% charged or connected to a wall charger/source - took about 10 or 15 minutes to finish.
As always, best practice is to backup to cloud and/or a external/USB drive of anything important, although data or storage partition wasn't wiped & nothing lost with user/data on the device.
Upon upgrading from Android 8 to 9.0 Pie, some of the Apps will be updated as well.
South America got a June patch already.
Just got the August update this morning.
So, this is a little bit odd.
I have long since moved from using a Samsung phone as my daily driver, but still use my Note Edge while on the go as a mobile sketchbook. Well, last night I accidentally approved the OTA update that had been pending on my phone for several years straight, which updated my device to Marshmallow. The 6.0.1 update caused my performance to tank hardcore, to the point where it's borderline unusable and my battery drains in less than an hour. Unacceptable.
I used Odin to flash back to 4.4.4. I grabbed a stock ROM for my device and Odin 3.12.7, put it into recovery mode, and started the process. Surprisingly, everything went off without a hitch and I found myself with a green PASS box and no errors in the Odin log. Sweet.

However, something's not right. I'm still on Marshmallow, but with all of the old KitKat apps having replaced the ones that updated. All of the icons are their older versions and even the system font is back to its old thick, round self. The OTA update is back, somehow, and my phone's About page says I'm still on 6.0.1. User data was also not touched. The baseband of the phone matches the file I used, so I definitely flashed the ROM.
Obviously I missed a step. I thought this process would factory reset my device?
