[Q] Safe to factory reset? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

My brother has an S3 and he doesn't want to have it rooted anymore.
He changed from the stock ROM to a Slim ROM.
Can he factory reset it and everything be back to normal?
This was the method he used to root it:

Yes flashing back to stock will sort you out. Since there is a custom recovery installed already, (since he already flashed a custom rom) you will need to use Odin if you want 100% stock.

Easy.
Just flash stock again via Odin
XXKPE would be good.
You will find it here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1004647
Guide:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133787
Then try the DDKP3. It's the latest.
thanks
but like i said i heard that even flashing STOCK rom doesnt really remove everything...they still leave traces
how true is this?
Just flash with odin.
Wipe user data/factory reset.
After boot format your internal card.
Then there's no chances of any traces.
you have flash back to DD*** firmware, india region firmware.
xxkpe is for euro region. no way it is your stock firmware.

Question regarding rom manager and Verizon Samsung galaxy s3

I apologize in advance as I am a noob, I wanted to install the google wallet app, so using these instructions I rooted my phone:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792342
Amazingly simple
So I installed rom manager to help backup my phone, in the process I flashed clockworkmod recovery, after the fact I realized that this customized my phone farther than I probably should have gone...
Because I flashed this custom recovery does that mean that I cannot get the stock recovery back? If I do get the stock recovery back will it show that I flashed the phone?
Thanks in advance!
No, you have multiple options to get back to stock. Easiest is follow the pinned guide in dev section. It shows how to get completely back to stock without tripping the counter. I even did it myself and it works like a charm.

[Q] NOOB question

On the other day, I manage to soft brick my phone. Since then, my journey started on improving my phone.
My question is this. The steps I took were all correct right?
Flash Firmware ( I535VRBLK3) using Odin,
Flashing the Bootchain (VRALEC.bootchain.tar) with Odin,
Flashing CWM6012TouchVZW.tar.md5 with Odin,
install ROOT and Unlock Bootloader(SuperSU + Unlocked Bootloader) from storage by using CWM recovery,
Flash the VRBLK3 Bootchain using ODIN to restore the Original Jelly bean VRBLK3 Bootchain,
Copy CleanROM to storage
Reboot to Recovery
Recommend wiping data / Factory Reset in Recovery!
Flash ROM and choose options
Now, here comes my question. I want to do these steps again because I messed around a bit too much again. The main question I have is Firmware is necessary in order for Roms to work??? To clarify, I535VRBLK3 firmware needs to be installed in order for CleanRom to be installed? Am I getting this correct?

No, you can be on a ICS build then flash a JB rom if you want. You dont need to reflash with odin either, you can just wipe in recovery and reflash the rom.

[Q] Need help removing SuperSU, and staying unrooted.

Hi everyone,
Now I know I'm not alone on this because I've seen quite a few other questions about this and I haven't really seen any straight forward answers about this same problem.
Anyways I own the N8013 and like many I couldn't wait for the US version of 4.1 so I flashed the german n8010 version. No problems there, Ive been using it fine. However I always intended to go back to stock, and for the most part I have. I got back on the n8013 ics, reset the flash counter and all that so I am no longer custom and it says I haven't flashed anything. Downloaded the 4.1 OTA update, checked to make sure I wasn't rooted, I'm not, so almost everything is perfect. The only problem I have left is that SuperSU is on the device and I cant uninstall it.
Now I heard something about rooting to uninstall it but Im confused because if I root then remove it how do I unroot? Also Im worried that this will somehow affect my flash counter and official status. Anyways I'd really appreciate some help on this, I know there are others like me who could benefit from maybe a simple step by step process of getting SuperSU off and getting to unmodified, stock, unroot status. I have a physical defect with my device and even though I've heard samsung is lenient id like to not take any chances.
Again I'd really appreciate any help people have to offer, thanks for reading.
Root, run triangle away to reset counter. Go to supersu and find in settings the unroot and remove supersu setting. It will remove super su and unroot. You may need to reflash the stock recovery or stock rom again via ODIN. Stock recovery is only a few seconds, stock rom about 4 - 5 mins.... Your choice....
Should be completely stock now...

Well I already rooted and reset the counter, the problem is I can't find any setting in SuperSu to remove itself. I found the unroot which I ran but I dont know where to remove SuperSU, maybe I'm missing it? Or do I need to re root and follow these steps again? Or do I just flash stock again? Also if I flash stock through ODIN will that affect my counter? Sorry If I'm just missing it, I really appreciate your help.
Via recovery format system cache data and sd card and nothing is on the phone .
Boot to download mode and flash stock rom via Odin .
jje
No, flashing a stock rom through ODIN won't raise flash counter..
