your thoughts?
I'm thinking of getting one, only 2 things standing in my way - no reserve battery and no screen protector(but I think that you could use one from a Galaxy note)

Please list which 5 upcoming android phones interest you the most. I compiled a list of possibilities below, but other new phones may be accepted. Discuss why if you want, add to the pros and cons.
Galaxy S3:
Pros – Exynos quad core 32nm processor that’s LTE capable, Ceramic casing, bezel-less design, ICS (rumoured to be stock vanilla not TW) 4.6+"large screen.
Cons – It’s all one big rumour for now. Plus will likely have TW.
HTC One X:
Pros – Tegra3 quin core, large 4.7” screen, 32GB storage plus 23GB dropbox, Bluetooth 4, 8MP 1080p recording. ICS, Available Now. Excellent Camera features.
Cons – No micro sd support, look of camera, heard dropbox only valid for 2 years. Debatable whether sense 4 falls in here.
LG 4x HD:
Pros – Tegra3 quin core, large 4.7” screen, 8MP camera w/1080p recording, good battery 2140mAh, NFC, Bluetooth 4, micro sd card ICS
Cons –MWC video demo seemed laggy
Asus Pad phone:

Cons – possible rumour, nothing really known. Motoblur.
Motorola Atrix 3:
Pros – Tegra3 quin core, large 3300mAh battery, desirable 4.3” 720p screen, 10 MP camera. ICS
Cons – Almost all based on rumour with very little confirmed. Motoblur.
Fujitsu F12arc:
Pros – Tegra3 quin processor, highly water and dust resistant, Big 4.6” screen, 13 MP camera , 4GLTE (??? Thought it was incompatible with tegra 3 so far.)ICS
Cons – Unknown battery life, still ironing out ICS development glitches, maybe Q3 release or later.
Panasonic Eluga Power:
Pros - A fairly good processor 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor, Big 5” screen, water and dust proof, 8 MP camera, Fast Charge, ICS
Cons –Mediocre battery 1800 mAh, global launch details still speculated.
Hauwei Ascend D Quad:
Pros – Fast quad core, lovely 4.5” screen 1080p recording, good size 2500mAh battery ICS
Cons – Quality unproven, GPU unknown, might be a bit late to the game Q3-Q4
Because I'm on att, I would have to pick Galaxy s3, atrix 3, HTC one x, LG 4x HD, and Asus padfone in that order. nice gathering of all the rumors btw!

Those are good choices. Tegra 3 is lovely and I hold a lot of respect for it, but the Exynos really intrigues me and 32nm will likely provide good power efficiency.
My list is similar Galaxy S3, Atrix 3, Fujitsu F12arc, HTC One X, Asus Padfone. Although the LG4x HD could easily be swapped for HTC One X. Optus didn't get any of the Atrix series though so I have to see what ends up here in Australia.
Im eager to see the eluga power.
Some more pros and cons for it:
Pro: Small form factor: As big as a galaxy nexus but with 5" Display, On Screen Buttons
Con: apparantly no LED Flash, no MHL or other video out, fixed battery
I have to add, that the device is ip57 certified - that means it is actually waterproof not only water resistant.

So voting for a tougher version, water proof version of the galaxy note with what should be a greater a15 version duo core s4 snapdragon processor is a great choice. A processor that is suppose to stand toe to toe with tegra 3. Or surpass it if certain benchmarks are to be believed.
The waterproof phones (I believed the F12arc also says waterproof, I don't list until I know it is) are now getting competitive processors, unlike the defy. Phones with great build and processors should always rank high on our lists. Glad to see someone voting that way. Just hope we get to see it. Aussie land hasn't seen the Razr Maxx yet, so I can only pray for the Eluga power or F12arc.
I just have ordered a Tablet PC, but not pay it yet. because it is 7 Inch Capacitive Screen Android 4.0 and only $79.5 , free shipping
I do not know whether it's worth!
looking forward more ideas!

Mali 400 is very good GPU in this GPU you can run most games!
And CPU A13 1GHz is too very good for this price! You can in this tablet watch fullHD movies and i think web browsing in for example Opera Mobile would be nice
I've got one of these similar devices. Trust me, they might sound good, but they fall apart if you plan to use it extensively. Mine randomly doesn't install apps for some reason, I have to install apps 3 - 5 times before they will install correctly. Pathetic.
The deal-breaker would be 512Mb RAM and 4GB Storage. If there's no expendable storage, you shouldn't buy.
by the way, check this one out

Hmmmmm..the other specs seems too good for the price..but..the resolution seems tooooo low for a tablet. 480x800 looks good on only smartphones. It will look ugly on a 7 inch tablet

Tablet would be a good for development to test your apps. Not sure about daily usage though, might be a little janky......
That tablet sucks.
Cheapest tablet for the money is the Ainol Aurora. Anything cheaper will disappoint.

thanks, everyone!
this is one of the many models of the Chinese market. a 2-fold lower price it's a gimmick. Look on the characteristics of the tablet is mnogo.protsessor A13 is the cheapest right now.
There are a bunch of different models of the ICOO D50.
You have to read the specifications very carefully.
The one with 1024 x 600, HDMI out and 8 GB doesn't look bad.

I can't post links yet
it depends on how you use it,don't expect it can work like ipad.
however the price is not good for this chinese tablet, maybe you can add a little to get a refurb. nook
good luck
here is a video of the tablet.... looks pretty good to me. main thing i worry about is the battery life.... 2600 ma.

tittle says it all
i want to buy myself a gift for my birthday but i don't know which phone to choose (from China)
i don't know if it will be worth waiting for the Jiayu G4 Premium version with 2gb ram and 3000mah battery and no idea what price it would be (probably above 300$)
Newman N2 should be MTK6589 killer right with the Exynos 4412 processor and Mali400 GPU
but for those of you who own the phone or seen a review do you know if the screen is good enought ? by this i mean that it doesn't look ugly when tilted or inverted colors and is it bright enought
also suggest me some other chinesse phone if you know at same price as Newman or lower if possible
i am in a rush and need to decide by 26 March
I just got my Cube talk 9x. I really like it. I know it is old about two years but for me it is new. I have been wanting an octa core tablet just because I am a nerd and just to experience it on a tablet. I do not like Samsung Tablets and certainly did not want to spend that kind of money. I already have an Nvidia K1 and I really like it for a lot of reasons but I wanted a bigger screen and an Octa core processor with longer battery life than my Nvidia. I love the Nvidia but the battery life leaves a lot to be desired.
I did not want to spend a lot of money, $200 being my limit. As you can imagine that does not buy much in larger format tablets. First I started with the cheap amazon octa cores with the Allwiner a83t and the likes of Dragon Touch. Thank God for Amazon prime returns! Those devices were just awful and the Allwinner A83t was not a good processor. I was very wary of buying a tablet direct from China. Heard some horror stories but I took a risk anyway.
Had a bad experience with Gearbest.com but had the Cube talk 9x enough to know it was a good device even though the first one was defective. Dealing with Gear best turned into a PayPal claim.
I tried Geekbuying and had a much better experience.
So now I have my Cube and I received new March 17th update. Of course I was hoping for Lollipop but no. Still on KitKat but I have to say it is very smooth. Very stable build of Android. Ram usage seems very well optimized.
So what makes this tablet special? Well for the cost only one other tablet in this size range has the same amount of ram which is the Lenovo tab2 a10. The Lenovo is nice with a 64 bit quad core cortex a53 media tek processor clocked at 1.7, full HD screen. However the Cube has a 32 bit octa core cortex a7 clocked at 1.7 and a retina screen. The Cube is made from a solid Aluminum body while the Lenovo is plastic. The Cube also has gorilla glass 2 while the Lenovo just has glass. Acer has a new 10.1" tab with a mediatek 8151 cortex a53 octa core processor and 1 GB ram and a 1280 x 800 screen. Unfortunately the low res screen and 1 GB of ram really hurt the user experience. The acer also feels cheap and is full of pre loaded apps. I bought the Acer only to return it because of the glitchy or defective WiFi and other things I mentioned.
Of course you could spend a lot more and have a super experience but I just can't justify $500 or more on a tablet. My computer costs about that much.
The Cube seems really well made. The updates after 2 years since it's release from a no name company is impressive as some of the brands I have had above barely udate their tablets. I still think Cube should release Lollipop but KitKat works well.
This tablet has the 1.7 GHz octa core processor, 2 gigs of ram, retina screen, 3g, 16 gig ROM, stereo speakers at the bottom of the tablet, 10,000 mah battery. Pretty impressive specs even for an older device. The limitations of the of the device are the 32 bit a7 cores used are better for power efficiency than performance. The newer mediatek 8151 which has the newer cortex 64 bit a53 cores perform much better while still being rather power efficient. For example the Acer with only 1gb or ram scored over 37,000 points on Anutu while the talk 9x with double the ram scored only 28,000 points roughly. Acer did a very good job of optimizing the ROM on their tablet. The Cube T9 has the newer octa core processor but it was over my price range.
However this tablet stock unrooted performs really well. There was not a lot of junk apps installed and most apps give you an option to install to SD card. Really the only drawback to this tablet is the partitioning. Seems like a common practice on the tablets from China. Not sure why. A horrible practice. You can root the device and try to repartition it but you could also brick the device in the process. The mediatek tools at not the easiest for me to use so I am not going to go there. Specially when the tablet runs great .
So I highly recommend this tablet with a couple of caveats. It is at the end of its life so it is really cheap but if you think it will be updated to Marshmallow or N you can forget it. Lollipop could happn but I would not hold my breath. The 2 gig app limit really sucks and there is no easy way to solve the problem.
So if you are looking for an amazing device for a good price I do not know of a better deal anywhere. Is the Octacore hype. Personally I don't think so. Sure there is marketing hype but the Octacore really feels snappy while the huge battery makes it last!
There are not a lot of these devices left. Seems Cube is now focused on dual boot tablets with Intel processors. I wish they would come out with a new octacore processor android tablet like the Nvidia x1 or the newer cortex a53 octa core from mediated. The t9 if you can find it would perform even better but the build quality and aluminum frame just really make this an enjoyable experience. If you want one I would act now.
Thanks for the first details of the tablet. Have you had a chance to test battery life yet?
I haven't let it run down yet. The lowest I got was to 79%. The charger and cable that come with the device are pretty much useless. Using a Lenovo 2amp tablet charger seems to charge pretty quickly. It does not have fast charge but so far it seems to charge up pretty fast and last pretty long. I will try and see if I can run down the battery to give a better approximation of the run time.
I can get a Tab S2 from t-mobile or a used Note pro from ebay or something...The screen real estate of the note pro is enticing. they both have 3GB or ram, but the s2 is Octa-core. Not much use for the S-pen when I had a regular Note, but occasionally used it. I know the note pro has been out for a while, just wonder how future proof it is. is the quad-core snap 800 enough?
The difference between a Tab S2 Exynos Octa and a NotePro Snapdragon Quadcore is in what you intend to use it for.
CPU: Cores can't be merged or share speed. The max speed of a single core is all it can achieve.
The Exynos has a Quad-core 1.9 GHz and a quad-core 1.3 GHz, together making it an Octacore. (It's not a real Octacore, just two Quads on different speeds.)
The Snapdragon has four cores less, but those remaining four are 2.4 GHz each.
So if an app requires 2.1GHz, the Exynos can only supply 1.9GHz. Doesn't matter how many cores it has, they're not going to powerranger themselves into a giant 7.6GHz core. (Oh, how I wish they could do that....)
In my experience the Snapdragon 800 is still one of the most powerful chips in the market.
GPU: Keep in mind that an Exynos always comes with a low-end Mali GPU, and a Snapdragon comes with a high-end Adreno. If you plan to game or render 2K/4K films, you'll find the Mali to be insufficient. If you don't, it is entirely irrelevant. (It's basically the whole IntelHD vs Nvidia Geforce story.)
Batterylife. If you want it to last very long, go with the 9500mAh NotePro. If you intend to charge it every (other) day anyway, the 4000mAh Tab S2 is more than sufficient.
My NotePro (the Snapdragon version) lasts around 80 days in standby, or 25 hours of 1080p bingewatching. Doesn't mean they all do, I'm a bit of a controlfreak, but I do run Stock.
Screen. The Tab S2 has an AMOLED screen. Deeper colours, true black. The NotePro has an LCD screen, which means no true back and a bit more natural colours. (AMOLED on a 12.2" screen would make the device around 2000 quid, which is why they used LCD.)
On a second note regarding screen, the Tab S2 is 4:3, whereas the NotePro is 16:10. If you intend to use it for films and series, you'll find quite a bit of letterboxing(big black bars) on the Tab S2 as films and series are always in 16:10.
Oh, if you read comics or magazines, the NotePro screen is the exact size of a page. (In Europe where A(4) is the standard, anyway)
Weight. The NotePro is a beast, but it weighs like one, too. It's fairly light for its size (750 grams), but the Tab S2 is a whole 500 grams lighter. (270 grams). If you intend to carry it with you a lot, that might matter.
(It never did to me, as I used it to replace the 5kg laptop I lugged about, but not everyone favours usability over weight. I'm the (proud)weirdo who'd rather extend her jeans pockets than buy a smaller phone. (Note 3.) :silly: )
Size. The Tab S2 is small enough to fit inside a regular bag. The NotePro has the size of an A4 paper, meaning you'll need a bigger bag. On the other hand, a bigger screen means bigger screen realestate. The bigger screen also allows 4-way Multiwindow, instead of 2.
Futureproof hardware wise: The Snapdragon variant is literally a Note 3 with a bigger screen, so as for future proof.. The Note 3 is about equal to the Note 5 in terms of performance.
I expect it to run strong for about 4-5 more years, if the innovation remains as stuck as it is. (Most devices are actually a step backwards these days)
Futureproof Software wise: In terms of official firmware updates, you're better off with the Tab S2. The NotePro is a very niche model, and it's passed its maximum support age of 18 months, so it won't be getting any more updates, and it's not getting 6.0.
The Spen... It's a personal preference. The one in the NotePro is bigger than the one in the regular Notes, but the tech is the same. Pen Window, which allows you to draw resizable, floating apps anywhere on the screen( and with root every app can be enabled), is absolutely brilliant, and the pen keeps smudges off your screen.
But unless you're an artist and/or need the pressure sensitivity, that's where the advantages stop. Every other task can also be done with a regular stylus.
If you are an artist or a designer, you can use the NotePro as a Wacom drawing tablet (using a free app), which is bloody useful.
So, long answer short:
If you
+ Intend to do a lot of multitasking lighter tasks
+ Prefer a more manageable size and weight
+ Want a more beautiful screen
+ Want to receive future software updates
+ Want a more 'on the go/everyday use' tablet
- Don't need ages of battery life,
- Don't mind 4:3 or a smaller screen
The Tab S2 is the way to go.
If you
+ Intend to game/run heavy apps
+ Watch a lot of films
+ Intend to use it as a laptop replacement/for productivity
+ Want a bigger screen
+ Need longer battery life
+ Want an Spen
- Don't care much about updates
- Don't care about its weight and dimensions in terms of handling
The (Snapdragon) NotePro might be more your thing.
Unfortunately my Note Pro fell and I had to replace it. I got the S2 and it is a smaller screen at 9.7. super light weight (by comparison to the note pro !) and updated to 6.01.
The fingerprint recognition was pretty fast, and I thought I could just live with the smaller screen. Then I watched a movie. Huge letterboxing.... like really big. I dont like the 4:3.
Back in the box it goes, I am returning it and bought another Note Pro 12.2
