Discussion Thread on Epsylon’s CM Build..

Please use this thread for all your discussion about the CM for the Galaxy R.
It is important to note that Nightly Builds are not for most Users​
Things to know about Nightly Builds:
Not Stable releases
Will have bugs / issues
Not intended to be used as everyday ROM
Are not Fully Supported like Stable Releases
You Should be comfortable enough to recover from soft bricks On your OWN
As many of you know Epsylon has released the CM 7 alpha build for Galaxy R, so I am creating this thread for discussion on CM 7 build’s..
What is CyanogenMod:
CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

INSTRUCTIONS
Please make sure you have taken CWM Backup before proceeding...
First time installing CyanogenMod to your Galaxy R, or coming from another ROM:
- Make sure you're running a proper working ClockworkMod-Recovery
- Copy GApps (Link)
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash CM zip
- Flash GApps zip
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET
- Reboot
Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod:
- Copy CM ZIP to your internal SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash CM zip
- Reboot

You forgot to include "Phone calls/Network" in the working features. That's a main point. If it's there, then only people will think on flashing it.

Ummm....I have a question. After this ROM is finally ready for daily use...I mean I know this is going to take time, but will the Galaxy R then appear on the official CM site as a supported device?

Yes buddy Epsylon told he will try to add our mobile in CM supported device list, may be once we get the stable build.....

Sounds cool.....woooaah....STABLE BUILD....of the CM7.2 for our Galaxy R....even the thought makes me feel proud n happy:laugh: Thanx to all the devs...especially @epsylon3

im currently on neorom3 (xwla4)
can i flash direct?
does this cm have hardware accelaration? i heard some other device became 2x so good after cm !
is it faster than neov3 ?

Buddy its still alpha state so you can try it but still so many bug's are there....
yes you can flash on Neo V3 but follow the instruction's......

Don't flash it on XWLA4! When I did, I had to face force close problems and no auto synchronization. Also I couldn't sign into my google account.
So then I flashed ZSLE6 first and then flashed this ROM. Then everything worked perfectly [Those which should work].

I've also flashed on Neo V3 only buddy but i haven't faced any issues....

@vikram
Kindly include the step to take a backup of the previous firmware as a step before all the others.
In case of boot loop they can restore their previous firmware from the backup created. I've just added this in the FAQ's.
Correct me if I'm wrong ?
EDIT:

Guys I am still not getting incoming calls on the build CM72-20120714-NIGHTLY-Galaxy-R.zip
I am pretty sure, I flashed it correctly. Anyone else facing this issue?
I was so convinced this morning that I will never have to back to stock rom again on my Galaxy R. Still haven't reverted back but sooner or later I will have to if I can't fix this.
Any help is appreciated.

First of all I am really happy that SGR getting CM support :victory:
Now I fallow all instruction but when I flash it on my sgr with CWM 4.0.0.2 and than CWM 5.5 both I face same problem
I got msg zip package flashed successfully but when i boot my mobile it's keep repeating boot animation and didn't boot up I waited for 10 mins.
any one facing same problem plz help me

How can it be that there are cm9 roms for lg p990?? They dont even have official ics for drivers??

Maybe you can try wipe data / factory reset again in recovery.
It once happened to me on the Blade while flashing CM7 when wipe data again did the trick.

Can someone at least confirm if I am using the right zip file? I even verified md5sum and my zip is 100% correct.
I reverted back to stock everything works fine. Then I tried again with CWM 4.0.0.2 and still no incoming calls.
Someone please help me. Am I doing something wrong or am I the only unlucky one?

Squadzone officially released a new Cyanmobile yesterday only for 3 devices
and long time ago he has also announced that he has stooped development for galaxy fit

I think we will not get the stable release........check out the mad team forum......he released the stable release for 3 phones.....and said that for other devices u will have to port it........

Ya!...I know that!...I thought he will continue fit project also! Lol...Thanx alot for porting it bro!...By the way can u also port the kernels that Squadzone uses in Mini because they are really fast, stable and efficient than any other kernels!...Please try to port the kernel as well!

First Check That You Have These Things:
All Samsung drivers already installed
GT-S7500 ONLY (NO OTHER VARIANTS!)
All neccessary packages Downloaded
Windows PC
Patient
Now you have to flash cwm on your phone,I prefer 5.0.2.8 :
1)Download the cwm package(recovery.tar)
2)Download odin3 and extract
3)Now you have to enable USB Debugging in your phone By going to Settings=>Applications=>Development
4)Now turn off your device and boot into download mode(volume down+home+power) and press volume up to continue
5)In your PC open odin3 and connect your phone to your computer,wait until ID:COM turn yellow in odin3
6)Make Sure that "Auto Reboot" and "F.Reset Time" are checked and "Repartion" is UNCHECKED
7)Press PDA and choose the cwm package (it must be a .tar or .tar.md5 package) and press start
8)Wait 1 min and odin will finish the process,you will see PASS and your phone will Reboot

What's not working:

Now flashing the cm10.1.3 rom:
1)Download the cm10.1.3 rom from here http://www.mediafire.com/?cft4ug29b2am587
and gapps from here http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip
2)Copy these packages to the root of your External SD of your phone
3)Turn off your device and boot to recovery mode(volume up+volume down+home+power)
Wipe data/factory reset,wipe cache and wipe davilik cache
4) Now press "install zip from sdcard" than "choose zip from sdcard" and then select the cm10.1.3 package and "Yes"
5)Wait to finish installation and now repeat the same thing but choose the gapps package instead of the cm10.1.3 package
6)When it finish,press "Reboot System Now"
That's it!The cm10.1.3 is now successfully installed and your android version is 4.1.2 !!
NOTE:The first boot will take some time(~5min) so don't panic!!!
If you want to fix the camera just proceed to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2345981
But maybe the camera will work,so check it before doing anything.

Hey bro,yes sometimes if you make a mistake you will stuck in a bootloop but you can fix it by falshing it again!
And by the way i updated the thread to cm10.1.3 which the whisper is working great!

ohhh idk why m i writing this post alright READ THIS WERY CAREFULLY this build that you are sharing is made by theWisp last sommer and it has no camera(arm pie enabled) its laggy it has no radio in one word its outdated after that build theWisp relased a cm10.1.2 build which was fine it worked pretty well but still a alot of non working stuff then theWhisp stopped compiling builds for sgap and last month a user called techkang compiled a build with almost all bugs fixed.......and dont be rude when a senior is telling you something :angel:

Yes you are right but don't forget that cyanogenmod is an unofficial ROM and have alot of problems.I would recommend to flash the cm10 i tried it everything is fine but no camera.

Found a error: Your TWRP link is dead.
BUGS SEEN :
1. Small icons while vieweing some apps at the Settings>Apps
2. Flash Light button doesn't work
3. I can only see 8 Apps
4. Black Things was seen when scrolling at the Settings
5. Black errors while changing the brightness at the Settings>Display and Lights>Brightness
6. I can't press Home from time to time
7. The launcher keeps updating itself ( the Display or Someting)
(ADDITIONAL)
* I haven't seen a Progress Log while Installing the ROM
* The Loading of the ROM took about 4 Minutes.
* Slow opening of the Recent apps button.
* The File Explorer is too simple ( I can't see the features from the MiXPlorer)

Thank you for your review, and I have to tell you that, the flashlight button surely not working because our device doesn't even has a flash.
-I can press home normally, is there a problem with your home button ?
. And a bout the aditionals, I'm working on v2 of the rom which is bugfree,and lighter than this first build,and surely, this build is still exprerimental

The HOME Button doesn't work in some places at the settings app and other apps when lagging

it means that it works ,and I can say that the home button won't work in any rom when lagging

I think this ROM is good looking CM11 based rom, I'd like to fix bugs for it, since my galaxy Y has some button issues, I will send my device to service to ensure my device is okay. I guess I can fix root, browser FC and the lags (to its best, default cm11 has lags so cant help it), will work on it after two weeks when my projects are over in my office
(For those who dont know who I am, am [email protected], changed my name everywhere)

I've fixed many bugs in the rom in build 2, but the problem now is dialer size, it keep flashing if we go to the phone app . I tried resizing it but I coudn't . I'll send you build 2 via pm I also knew that you are raisul2010.5396 by looking at your avatar :v

Alright I will test this and fix those issues, i guess I can fix those, right now am little busy on developing pixel experience for my moto G2, as its dev abandoned this device

I fixed the bug brother, that was happening because I was typing potter instead of bacon lol, idk why i was making the same mistake again and again while building! and you will still be able to pm me if you tick an option right below editor box, that allows you to send message who arent in your friendlist

LOL it doesn't matter , my girlfriend has a potter,too(she has a potter,a titan and a white lithium(Xiaomi mi mix )) . She may love it :v

yup,but I have a small tip for you,when you recive a call,it will vibrate so just swipe from them center to the right and we can answer calls,and DM actually has takes shorter time to turn screen on comparing with all cm11 rom I have tested,other cm11 roms (included cmx11 ) takes about 3 sec to turn screen on when DM only takes you 1.5 sec . the other bugs may be still there.

Ok ,It's really easy
Firstly . boot your phone to recovery (of course but recommended to flash cwm,too)
Then flash this TWRP and reboot your recovery
Then in TWRP,choose wipe android tick everything except SDcard and swipe the bar
Then go back using the navigation bar
Then go to mount ,tick system,data,cache,sdcard
then go back and choose install
Then just choose the rom and swipe the bar,after you installed it ,reboot your phone and enjoy,first boot takes about 4 mins for me
and after it boot on,it takes a few mins to optimize the hardware for best performance

Sure ! it's smoothy(same same speed as cm9 , or may be nearly ), I'm making v2 which is slimmer and smoothier

Sure , build 2 actualy build 2 is completed and on testing now . In build 2,everything will be theme as lolipop . I sure that every one will love it
