[Q] Android TV Stick to watch live hq flash streams - General Questions and Answers

Hallo everybody,
I am looking for an Android TV Stick to watch 720p flash livestreams on my TV.
Now I am a bit confused if a rk3066 is fast enough to play Adobe flash streams (need 6000k bandwidth) without problems (no juddering/stuttering (I hope its the right word for it)). Or if it is better to wait for sticks with a rk3188 as CPU. Or could also the Mali GPU be to slow?
As you can see I need your help.
I read alot but couldn´t find a good answer.
Maybe you have experience with this topic and can help me.
Thank you for your help,

[Q] May This Be a Solution for the Videoplayer-Problem on Android?

I just thought about the thing that there's no good video player for android, that decently plays .mkv files in 720p, even on the Desire HD.
But what about Archos? They have also Android as OS, and use a 1 GHz Processor ( ARM8 I think) in their newer devices.
But even the Archos 5 IT could playback 720p with its 800 MHz CPU. May it be possible to implement the ARCHOS media player on other Android devices?
Or is it coded too specifically, using the graphics accelerator so only the Archos can work with that app?
Would love to here ur oppinion about this
Sorry if this question is too dumb,
Hi Dr lele
I recently started work on my DHD and found a program called arkMedia. You can download it from your app store for free. It works very well for me right accross my varied media including avi, flv, mp4 etc...
I believe this is the tcpmp equivalent for android.
I hope it works for you as well as it is working for me.
Kind regards,
J
maybe arcmedia?
Thank You I'll try it
But I'll also try to get the app from the archos to the DHD maybe the video player works. That would be pure awesomeness

No software player will help you overcome what hardware can't do , 800 MHz to 1000 MHz is not the issue here. Alot of things make a CPU package for phones, CPU is just a general purpose hardware not fast enough for 3D games or 720p+ video decoding.. . There are several software players out there with their own codecs that will use your cpu in software mode , you will be able to play avi, divx, xvid if your phone can't already do so, but to playback 720p you need alot more horsepower or specialized hardware. Your Desire HD has Snapdragon CPU
Archos 5 does have slower general purpose CPU less MegaHertz but ! that CPU happens to be Cortex-A8 it is more geared for media has "NEON™technology for multi-media and SIMD processing".
Same CPU but slightly faster is in my AT&T Captivate and or any other Samsung Galaxy S phone.
I can playback 720p video no problem high bitrate H264,x264 ect. Amongs many video containers it can also playback MKVs and with some help from players like "mVideoPlayer" it can even render internal and external subtitles.
You can only blame marketing and low education of general population , where everyone thinks all CPUs are equal and only MegaHertz that matters
Hope that was educational for you , in case it was not short answer , Player from Archos 5 will not help you play 720p video. It is not the player that does the hard work.
Ah thx... thats sad news, but i feel a little bit smarter now and somehow I expected that there's a reason for the DHD's original Media Player not to playback mkv containers
So with a Samsung Galaxy phones i could playback more media files... thats really interesting because I looked for an Android Phone which combines the powers of the Archos PMPs and an Android Phone

[Q] Some questions about eeePad

I have a few questions about the eeePad, before I decide if I should buy one or not.
1) First of all, how is the ebook reading experience in an eeepad?
Is it readable without zooming a lot? Also, is it slow (it was kinda slow in a galaxy tab I once saw!) when you use ebooks or pdf files with a lot of pages or pictures?
2) How is gaming? Any good keyboard playable games?
Any RPGs? Anyone tried wesnoth?
Edit: Okay, so the emulators work!
3) How is the movie playback of non mp4 formats (mkv, rmvb, avi etc.)?
As far as I tried, it works on desire z and was very slow on xperia mini pro (old one) and galaxy gt-i5510!
4) I saw the thread on Ubuntu! Is it slow? Can it run any other OS?
5) Does normal android apps (the ones for mobiles I mean) work in eeepad?
Do they shrink or become too large or something?
If these questions were already asked, I apologize in advance!
1) Fine. I find the Kindle App and Polaris Office (for PDFs) works fine. Readability without zooming depends on the user also; I don't have problems.
2) Some work (e.g. Muffin Knight), gaming on Android varies I guess. And thx, didn't know someone was selling a Wesnoth port; I'll have to check that and see what's up.
3) I'll leave it to others here, since I don't even own a Blu-Ray player yet...hehe.
4) Probably, read the thread maybe? Remember it's armv7l not x86 or x86_64. I run Debian stable in a chroot.
5) That's kind of configurable. Generally it works fine in my experience (most apps I use are not made for tablets).
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
3)Tested a 720p 2,36gb mkv and played smooth with diceplayer (not-free). But when you turn hdmi out the subtitles doesn't show on the tv. Maybe not a big problem for you ..
5) Apps works perfect in my experience, i didn't notice that someones are not made for tablets

If some apps say incompatible on Google play you can try to install them manually.
Search Google for the app APK eg.facebook 1.x.x apk
as for the accelerometer not working that might be a hardware problem. can you still rotate the screen?
I was looking to get this tablet, is it any good?

You need to download the XML files for the C91 Upgrade.
It's on SlateDroid - I'm still a new user so I can't post links.

This tablet is execellent for the price. The manufacturer is really serious about developments. You can visit their site zenithink.com and download the latest version of ICS designed for Zenithink tablets. They keep updatating all the time.
Zenithink C91
I just bought the Zenithink C51 (The 7 Inch Tab) and it was great except for what you just mentioned. Although it had that problem, I went and got the Zenithink C91(The 10 inch Tab). The 10 inch tab had the same problem. What I believe happened was, the tab didn't originally come with ICS so when they loaded they left out certain files. What you need to do is side load the app or find out what files are missing and load them into the tab. If your tab isn't rooted then you will need to root your tab first and then fix your issue. Hers a link on how to root your tab but pay attention. IT'S FOR ROOTING THIS TAB THATS NOT RUNNING ISC. Hopefully that helps

[Q] Android sticks and web streaming

Hi all,
Apologies for being too much of a newbie in these things, my age is probably catching up.
I currently use my old (very old) laptop to watch streaming channels on the web (which are Flash I believe) on my big screen TV. The laptop is a bit ancient (Intel Pentium M 725 / 1.6 GHz) and it is a bit of a pain. I also have a PS3 but havent managed to get the PS3 browser to open these things. My desktop PC is fine, but too far from the TV.
Would a stick computer be able to play such streams? I assume other people will have asked similar questions but I couldnt find it as I dont know the relevant terminology.
Any help appreciated.
Mike

Keuro L7- Advice

Got my hands on a PICO Projector that is powered by Android 5.1.1 from Keuro in China. Works with MiraCast and Happy Cast. Comes loaded with a ROM that has some video options, but I am going to experiment on trying to root this thing and put TWRP on it so I can load a custom Rom for possibly Android TV. Here is the manual with tech specs - http://www.keruotv.com/r/cms/kr/default/keruo l7 user guide.pdf
I have side loaded the following apps, Play Store, Netflix, Direct TV Now, Watch ESPN, CBS All Access, Prime Video, For Sports. The all run, but are kind of wonky as they want to work with touch not a IR Remote.
It has an ARM quad core A53 64 bit processor with 1 GB of DDR and 8Gb storage - was wanting to know if that if solid enough to run Lollipop or Marshmallow if I root?
Thanks for any help or suggestions
