[Q] Problem with Venom flashing - HTC One S

HTC ONE S (S4)
Android 4.1.1
HTC Sense 4+
SW 3.16.401.8
Kernel 3.4.10-gae8b65e [email protected]#1 SMP PREEMPT
Rooted, SuperCID and etc...
I tried to flash the Venom and no success. Progressbar upto 7, 8 percent and error - not writable. Other custom firmware, such as Black Beans or Pakman, flashed fine. Do a full wipe and all what is necessary according to the instructions. What could be wrong?
Wrong is TWRP with Cockwork everything is OK!

Sensation XE

So i got a new sensation XE, i want to root it and install custom roms and stuff, but is there a high chance i could brick the sensation permanently?
There are always chances of bricking phone. If you follow guide proper it will reduce this. In my opinion if you r really scared of bricking it phone don't root or get iPhone or Nokia where you can't do anything with system OS.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda premium
i followed the guide on S-off, unlocking, clockwork, root ......
Step 1- S-off done
Step 2 - recovery done
Step 3 - Permanently root done
but when i reboot my sensation XE, it is still booting to my normal HTC screen.
how can i check if above 3 steps are really successful?
I looked under Settings, About Phone, software information and it is still showing:
andriod version 2.3.4
HTC sense version 3.0

Try installing an app that requires root or flashing a ROM.

1. Turn off fast boot (settings -> power), shut down your phone, hold volume down and press/hold power button until it boots into bootloader screen. If it says Revolutionary and S-OFF at the top you're ok.
2. From the same bootloader screen, select recovery with volume down key and confirm with pressing power key, it should take you to Clockworkmod recovery (or whatever recovery you installed). If it doesn't, you need to install CWM or some other custom recovery.
3. Install app that requires root, for example Titanium Backup.
If everything is ok, then you can go ahead and flash a custom rom from recovery if you want.

Good progress. Nicely done.

Did you superwipe before installing the new rom?
Thanks everyone for your help.
I skipped a step on wipe data, and this caused the problem.
It is all ok now.

Sorry, i mean FM radio doesn't seems to work...
Wow create your own thread. Way to hi-jack mine.
My friend bricked his Sensation, trying to turn S-On again, so i guess im not going to root my phone yet until i have alot of time.

Not booting Virtuous Inquision v4.

So, i had before inquisition 3.0.0 with 3.12 firmware or something like that, and all worked well. I tought its time for an upgrade so i took the new 3.32 firmware, installed it ,wiped everything, then i tried installing inquisition 4.0 via 4EXT Recovery and the ROM just keeps bootlooping between bootanimation and htc logo.
Any help?
The firmware is HTC PART 1 , as my CID is HTC__044 from

ANY HELP please? I REALLY NEED THE PHONE FUNCTION!
Check the MD5 tags for both the firmware and VI4.0 downloads, do a superwipe and flash the ROM first, then the firmware - don't try to boot the ROM until the firmware is loaded.
Delete the firmware file immediately after.
I would also super CID if I were you.
MD5 tags the same, superwiped and flashed the rom after installin the firmware.
LE: Should i try installing HyperNonSense?
In that case I would suggest flashing the stock ICS release to check all is well, VI4.0 has an overclocked kernel which might be your problem.
Also, try reflashing the firmware to eliminate any update error.
As i read on noob guides on firmwares i found out that very few users cant boot the os correctly with HBOOT 1.27. I am among them. Any solutions? I want to try
VI 4.0 so bad. Till then i am running my old VI 3.0 backup with firmware 3.12 and hboot 1.23.
Make sure you deleted firmware zip from your sd card
your like me your phone my not like firmware

[Q] Lost with new Radio's and Rom's

Hello Xda-Developers,
I haven't flashed for a long time since ViperOneS 2.1.0 really. So yesterday i decided it was time do get a new rom. I managed to do my Supercid and get S-off, but now i don't really know what to do. I have never flashed a Radio before and don't even know what it is, but i know i need it xD. But I don't how to flash it and the tutorials are all for doing it without S-Off, furthermore i don't know which to choose and where to download ( all the download links for radio's i have found here are broken ). And can u give me an advice on which Rom i should use and how to flash it, it should be without sense and rather slim and fast then having a lot of extras draining battery life and slowing it down.

To update the radio, I do it this way:
(at the time I had S-OFF, SuperCID, hboot 2.15, rooted phone with old version radio)
1) Locked the device (fastboot oem lock)
2) Flashed Htc One S with RUU file, not the newest one.
3) Running on stock, updated device with all updates up to date. (got latest radio and 3.4 kernel)
in addition you can continue your adventure
4) Unlocked the device. (htcdev dot com)
5) Flashed with Pac Man rom 23.0.0, updated this way my kernel to the 3.4.49

Hi,
I have to take my phone back to warranty due to camera problems and I have to get it back to stock.

ROM: ViperC2 3.1.3
Baseband version: 16.22.20.03U_16.11.20.24_M
Build number: 3.19.401.101
The problem is that I cant use the RUU: RUU_VILLEC2_U_ICS_40_HTC_Europe_1.11.401.110_Radio_16.12.20.02U_16.05.20.16_M2_release_263510_signed.exe since this is older that what I currently have.
I can also get the OTA zips fro http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2200930 but I do not know how to install OTA zip in a way as RUU to get it back to stok.
Please help!
