After a long day of class I pass out and woke up to find that I had slept on top of my phone It was on before I went to sleep and was pretty warm when I grabbed it. Tried to turn it on, which it wouldn't. And when connecting it to a charger it doesn't charge. Taking out the battery and putting it back it gave me no luck either. The only response I get is when I connect it to my laptop in which case a White LED shows in the top right of the screen for a brief moment and the distinguishing sound you hear when you connect something to your computer, but nothing happens.
I did read and found out that the white led shows up because its unable to boot because there's not enough juice to put it in the charging process so someone suggested to get an external charger for the battery in which case i can do, but wanted a 2nd opinion.
Another thing to note is that my phone isn't rooted or anything of that kind of matter. Still in the factory settings in which I first bought it in. Any help and suggestions is appreciated.
Yeah! Charge it up and see if it gets some life.
Charge it in the wall, not in the pc. No matter what. Left the phone there and see what happens in 2hs

When I bought my phone it had the same issue. I got it used and the person that sold it to me forgot to remove the battery before shipping.
I tinkered with it forever, and even left it plugged in overnight and it kept the white LED.
I had an external charger from my last phone, so with rubber bands I was able to rig it in there and it got me going.
I have a spare external charger, but with cost and shipping you could get a charger and battery for the same price I imagine. $10 on Ebay.
Had white led light before when I was rooting my Atrix. Just need to get a external battery charger and charge it and try not to let the battery get drained like that again. Guessing your body heat drained all the battery cause the same thing happens to my second battery when I leave it in my pockets.

Well I got my 3200mah seidio battery yesterday. Charged it up overnight for around 10 hours. The phone was off all night, the light was green this morning.
I turned it on while still connected to power and the device said 100% charge and I thought ok sweet now ill test how long it can go!!
once I disconnected it from the power the screen went blank.. so I pressed the power button to turn the screen back on.. however the device was off and came up with the X screen this appeared for around 1 second then off again and on again for 1 second then off again it did this a couple of times before giving up...
Tested the battery in my wifes nexus and its the same
Is there anything I can do? or its a DOA?
I live in Australia and purchased the battery off ebay (brand new in box) so fear that its going to be hard to do a return.
It looks like it might be a bad battery. If you plug in your phone to the charger with this battery installed do you still get that blank screen?
If the battery is bad im sure Seido will replace it...they are a very reputable company.
But why put that hunchback battery on your sleek phone.. Seido has a nice 1600mah that fits perfectly with your N1... you get a little bit more power but dont comprimise the look.

If I plug my phone back into the charger the light is orange again.
After an hour it returned to green I turned the phone on to test it but kept it on power and it reported 100%.
I powered the phone off disconnected it
Tried turning it on again, this time it got to the desktop but battery status indicated it was critical and the phone would shut down...
The original charge covered the 2-3 hours of charge on the green light that seidio's website recommends
Now its been on charge again for an hour and is orange still...
total charge time on the wall charger is around 12 hours now.. im pretty sure its dead...
As for why I want a chunky battery I need it for while im at work.. and I actually am liking the increased depth in my hands fits them much better.
I bought the 2800mAh battery when it came out. When I plugged it in, it did some weird stuff. Took few charges/discharges to settle. I'm not saying yours isn't a dead battery, but I had similar weird stuff happen to me.
I just got my Captivate a couple of days ago (refugee from a Tilt2). I am slowly learning about Android.
I used the Pimp My Android PDF, rooted the phone and installed Launcher Pro. I charged the battery overnight and a message was on the phone that it is fully charged. When I unplugged it, I immediately got a message that the battery is low and I should plug it in. I have plugged and unplugged it a couple of times and it is behaving like the battery needs to be charged.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
That doesn't sound good. May need to take it back and get a new one. The only other suggestion I have is i've seen some folks say you need to condition the battery meter so it reads right. Leave the phone unplugged until the battery is so low it's flashing... wear it almost all the way down. Then plug it in and charge it up till the "battery full" thing pops up. Wash, rinse repeat. I saw several folks say after a few times of that, the battery lasted a LOT longer. Maybe yours is just really confused or it's bad. If you don't want to take it back (considering all the stuff you've done to it) try charging/discharging a few days and see if it's any better.
That happened to me one time when charging through a front USB port on my computer. I think it was the 3rd day I had the phone. I no longer use the front port for charging or data exchange, and haven't seen the problem again.
After Spending the day with the charger plugged in, it seems to be OK now. Maybe it was something I did. I will be keeping an eye on it for a while. Thanks for your responses.
I recently received a Droid Charge from Verizon as a replacement for a Thunderbolt which was basically rendered inoperable by the May OTA update due to near constant rebooting. I really like the Charge (with the exception of that hideous brown/orange theme - some of which looks designed by 1st graders!), but I'm having a MAJOR problem with it that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere else, and I'm wondering if I'm the only one suffering this issue!
I drive a tractor-trailer for a living and use Google Navigation as a back-up to a truck-dedicated GPS unit I have in my tractor. I have a dash mount that I used to keep my Thunderbolt in and I had no problems with it at all (except for the constant reboots). However, the first day I was using the Charge, the screen went dark all of the sudden after a couple of hours, and I'm like WTF?!! I couldn't get it to anything, so I pulled it out of the dash mount and let the sun shine on the screen - I saw the display was still on, but it had dimmed to the point that I couldn't see it without a light shining on it. In the middle of the screen was a dialog box with an exclamation point and the message "Charging Interrupted - battery temperature too high or too low"! I unplugged the Verizon-branded car charger and as soon as I did that, the screen became bright again, and the message disappeared. I left it like that for a while, until the low battery warning appeared. I then plugged the car charger in and let it start charging. Well, guess what? It darkened the screen again after almost 30 minutes of being connected to the car charger, and I saw the same battery temp too high message on the screen!
I have since tried to use the wall charger I got with my HTC Thunderbolt (my tractor has a power inverter in it, and electrical outlets to plug a power cord into, just like the outlets at home), but I got the same warning message on the screen. This is a REAL problem as it's basically causing the phone to be unusable, since I am not able to charge the battery when it gets low, due to the phone interrupting the charging! I went to a Verizon store, thinking it might just be a bad battery (especially because, when I first put the battery in the phone and plugged it in to charge, I got an "Incompatible battery" message on the phone). I took the battery out and reinserted it, and I never got that message again. Verizon gave me a brand-new battery, but that didn't help. They sent me another Droid Charge to replace the first one, but the 2nd one is doing the same thing!
Anybody have any idea what's going on here? I've had the same problem now with 2 seperate batteries and two seperate Droid Charge phones, but I never had that problem with my Thunderbolt, even though I used the same wall & car chargers with IT! The back of the Charge's are getting very hot, but, then again, so did my Thunderbolt, and I never had a charging issue with it. I'd really like to keep the Charge and send my Thunderbolt back to Verizon, but I can't do that without finding a solution to this problem!

I used to have this issue with several HTC phones. What happens is that if you keep the phone on the dash in direct sunlight, the battery reaches critical temperatures and to prevent the risk of failure, it stops the battery from charging. This happened all the time on my HTC phones from the Mogul 6800 to the Touch Pro. Not sure why the T-Bolt didn't have that issue, maybe it was set to a higher threshold before stopping the charging.
You may want to keep it out of direct sunlight or take the battery cover off to let more air flow in when charging on the dash.

I had the same problem. The warning message seems to be a safety feature built into the Charge that waits to charge the battery until it is cooled off.
I found that unpluging and turning off navigation for a while helped cool things off.
I also tried having the phone fully charged before using it for navigation and then plugging it in and this seemed to help. I am no expert, but it seems that when the phone is not trying to charge a battery rapidly it deals with the GPS heat better.
I hope this helps; stick with it and keep bugging Verizon!

So they sent you a Charge, but you kept the tbolt charger? And they have sent you multiple Charges and batteries, but never the correct charger? If this is right, you need to tell them to give you a Charge charger (heh). This phone seems to be pretty particular about what charges it, I can't even use a usb extension cable, so the wrong charger may be the culprit.
I've been getting this as well using CoPilot Live v8 (just upgraded to v9). I found if I turned down the screen brightness a bit, say to 80%, I could still see the screen but avoid most of the battery charging issues.
I also just purchased a Tetrax XWAY mount that will attach to an air conditioning vent. We'll see if blowing cool air onto the back will let me drive around with the brightness turned full up.
My concern with brightness all the way up is that I am not sure if the charge rate from the lighter plug will keep up with the discharge rate on the DC when everything is running full tilt...I just ordered a Tek-Tok Wireless lighter plug USB charger, Input: 12-24V DC; Output: 5.0V DC 2.1Amp! Let the frying begin!!!
p.s. I tried the Samsung/Verizon navigation mount on a 5-day trip...not too bad of a design, BUT, would not work with my extended battery and back PLUS when the DC goes into car dock mode (automatically when inserted into the navigation dock) it comes up with a screen that has a shortcut to VZ Navigator that CANNOT be edited or changed to another navigation program. You have to disable the dock in order to use another navigation program! What's with THAT, Verizon and Samsung!!! Needless to say, returned the mount yesterday...
Try turning your brightness down, make sure it's going into sleep mode and keep it out of direct sunlight
I also had the exact same overheating issue. After getting a replacement device I started looking at the charger I was using. I had been using a micro usb charger that only output 500ma. The droid charger is 1000ma (or 1 amp). Apparently I was using more power than the charger could provide. The charger couldn't keep up and I guess that must have been the issue because since switching to a 1 amp charger, I haven't had overheating issues.

Living in Miami, I have seen this message a few times after leaving the Charge in my car.
Run a free sensor program to tell you the battery temp when it does this. Mine gets up to 130 F.
If your phone isnt really at 130F, maybe something is tricking the sensor or it is faulty.
I rooted my Charge today, installing a new kernel (imnuts' PeanutButta Jelly Time) and a new ROM (GummyCHARGED 1.8.5), and I drove 3 1/2 hours from my terminal back to my home for the weekend with the Charge plugged into the charger and never once got the "battery temperature too high or too low" message!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that doing this eliminated my charging problems with the Droid - we'll see!

One thing I did to help prevent this issue when it gets to hot is to set the air vents in your car to the defroster setting, so it will blow air at the windshield, and in turn your phone on the dash. Also, taking off the back can do wonders to prevent over heating.
I wanted an external charger so I could charge my spare battery while I was using my main one (have a momax 1700mah thats a few months old). I got a cheap one on ebay, it wasn't overly impressive, really light and cheap as you might expect. Pretty much nothing in the way of instructions came with it, the light is blue when its plugged in empty, and purple when charging. I put my momax in last night to charge from almost dead, and I took it out before bed and tried it, my phone said 83%. I put my stock back in and left it alone, would charge fully after work today. I did that, eventually the light went to blue so I assumed it was charged, but my phone wont boot with it, not even plugged in, theres nothing. Seems like this cheap charger has killed my battery somehow.
I mean...its a friggin battery, there isn't much you can do in terms of repair, not that I know of. The battery is only a couple months old so there should be warranty, but in the mean time, any suggestions?
Try to use a genuine one so that your phone may not be damaged.

Was searching all week and had no luck. Seems like a common problem among phones especially on SGS and SGS2.
When it was on , it showed a message saying charging paused Battery temp too hot or cold.
Now the battery is drained, and when charged to the mains, it would show a yellow triangle, and a thermometer.
See picture attached..

Well first if you still got factory warrenty...
get it fixed by samsung...
If you want to save a few dollars you could attempt to pry the screen out from the back cover and charge the battery externally then if thats a NO GO buy another battery online and then put it back together.
Ive read before with charging problems that if teh battery gets completely Flat it wont have enough charge in it to activate the charging circuits.eg when you plug in charger you get black secreen and no battery icon,you need to pop the screen out and remove the battery and charge it from a external source.then replace it.
Never seen anything about your particular problem though...
I will enquire to Samsung, not expecting much because, tab7.7 was never officially launched in Aust.

Try plug in wall charger for 30 mins then hold power button for 15 seconds.This is good for waking it out of deep sleep and getting it to trigger charge.
another thing is possible fix from factory reset in twrp?
i would try a few things like this and leave opening it up as a last resort.
for your info google how to open up galaxy tablet and you can find pics
how to prise the screen out of the back cover.ive bought tools for this but havent done it yet as worried about damadging screen or cracking it.
there are clips around it and you have to pop the clips out.
Australia samsung probly wont fix it as not australian model..
another thing to ry is charge using ipad 2ma charger...
Experienced exactly the same issue in May 2013. It was functioning well and charging without problem all along and suddenly turned out like this. Tried different method to have it charged but no luck. I have to bring it back to the service center for repair finally.

Galaxy GT-N5110 Note 8.0 - Charging paused...battery temperature too low...
I purchased a Galaxy Note 8.0 (GT-N5110) last July. It's been working great until yesterday when a window popped up stating "Charging paused. Battery temperature too low."
I tried shutting the Note down and charge the battery whilst turned off. It seems to be charging just fine at the moment. Will check it in a few hours when the battery has been fully charged.
I installed an app called Battery Monitor Widget. It's reporting that the battery temp is around -2c to -4c while charging.
UPDATE: Battery is charged @ 100% and the Note is still on AC power. Battery Monitor is reporting that the battery is -3.7c then to -5.9c...
My next test is to completely drain the battery and see about charging then.... Will keep you posted...

UPDATE: Now on battery, the battery temperature is reporting at -4.7c...
I some how fixed it by accident..
First I thought it was a faulty battery only to realise that replacing the battery did not work...
Next I followed one of the remedies I read where it said to connect the charger to the unit with the wall charger connected and connect the battery (there is a ribbon cable).
Some how it worked. Started charging etc.
I noticed that the battery had full charge as I had it plugged in for a whole night before when i was experiencing the TEMP too low symptoms.
It seemed as if it was charging all along but was showing that stupid error on the surface...
Hope this helps some people.

Have this issue with one of my S4's (fortunately I have a couple so can swap things about)
The phones had a life of luxury on my desk, except it suddenly started reporting 'battery temperature too low' issue and not charging
The same battery in another S4 is absolutely fine, so the battery itself is ruled out (and indeed 2 other batteries will not charge in the unit having problems, despite working fine in other S4's)
It seems that something has died in the S4 itself internally. and is likely going to require replacement/fix at a service centre.
How many other people have this? - it could be an issue with the device build.
