Update Server Busy ? - Asus Transformer TF700

Hey all,
I've just downgraded successfully to 9.4.5.30
And I've successfully rooted my ASUS.
However,
Now i want to push the 4.1 update but when I click on the 'System Firmware Update' tab it searches for a while then says
"Internet Connection Error or the server is busy. Please wait a moment then try again"
is there a way round this or something I'm doing wrong? I.e do I need to be logged into google etc?

Guess that's all we can do.

i didnt root/unlock my Infinity, so i am not sure.

Ahh, well upon waiting until the morning seems it clears this up.
Try again at a different time, may have just coincided with an ASUS server shut down or something.

OTA 9.2.1.21 update won't connect

I'm just wondering if I'm doing something wrong because I can't seem to get firmware update 9.2.1.21 to download. I keep getting a message saying "Internet connection error or the server is busy. Please wait a moment and try again".
I just rooted my TF but have OTA Root Keeper enabled so that it appears unrooted. I am currently on firmware version 9.2.1.17. Also, I can connect to the internet, etc with no issues.
So is this a common issue with their site, or is there something not set up correctly on my side? Thanks.
Hi,
i hope it is a common issue on there site, because i have the same issue
What recovery is on your TF? stock recovery or cwm? If cwm, you can not do OTA.

Probably a server problem if more than one is experiencing the same thing.
Maybe wait a while and try again.

While the OTA will not update with CWM recovery, the file itself will still download to the TF.
but yes, for the OTA update to work properly you need stock recovery.
I have the same issue
Hi OP,
I have the same issue, although, I am not rooted and I currently have 9.2.1.21 installed. I always click that darn update button hoping one day this nightmare will go away.

Must have been a server issue. I let my TF sit several hours and it asked me to update afterwards. It is now rooted on 9.2.1.21!

[POLL] Unlocking Bootloader on TF700

With all the reports of bootloader unlocking issues, I wanted to get a general idea of how many people are affected.
I voted no, and returned mine partially because of that (although there was a hardware issue as well). Really hope my replacement can unlock.
Been trying for the last few days and today it finally worked. It seems its a piecemeal process on ASUS's side of the interwebs.

Same here.. getting unknown network error or something like that.
Tien said they are looking into possible things on their server that might cause this but who knows how long that will be. This was about 2-3 weeks ago.

It's probably Asus server mess up again, you guys just keep trying and eventually, you're going to get it...
Hmm, worked first try for me a few days ago.

Update from Asus;
Hi Buhohitr,
Yes, we are aware of the bootloader server error. HQ is currently looking into the matter now. As for exactly what is going, we do not know from our end over here. We believe there is something wrong on their end over there, hence why they are taking over. I apologize for the inconvenience, but the best I can advise right now is to hold tight while they try to work things out.

This issue is with Asus server, it's not on our end, so you just have to wait and try again..Asus said the server is now host with third party and they have no control over it.

System Update timing out

Hi All,
This morning I tried check for system updates but it times out. I get the following alert, "Internet connection error or the server is busy. Wait a moment and try again."
Anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks,
Ken
I'm experinencing the same thing.
I have seen this before when new updates are just released and the servers become busy but I haven't seen any posts about new releases.
Probably just Asus doing maintenance on their servers...
I have the exact same problem. Is there any problem with ASUS servers?
I have the same problem, because I can't unlock my bootloader, which I want to do now.. :/ I hope Asus will quick fix this issue.
Thanks, good to know it's not just me. Guess Asus is doing some maintence on their update server.

Hi kyrtap10, was you able to unlock your bootloader? System update started working for me, but Unlock Device Tool still says "An unknown error occurs...".
I NEED TO UNLOCK BL! I have JB 4.1.1 on TF201. Anybody knows what (other than Asus server problem) can cause the error? And, btw, I already verified S/N. It's present and correct.
Thanks!
Also, forgot to mention, that when I boot with Vol Down+Power buttons there are 4 icons:
1. RCK
2. Android
3. USB
4. Wipe Data
What is "RCK"????
The tablet was RMA'd once. When I tried to install OTA JB (not manually!) it never booted again, not even screen came up! So, I had to send it to ASUS. What they could possibly do to it, that it does not unlock bootloader???

Ditto here too, spent half the day trying to figure this out. I noticed some DNS errors coming from the phone while doing the update. Maybe they have figured out a way to block the 0.7.2. update for just us? Anyone know of a way to load just the 6 meg update to the phone manually and force the update?
Some behaviors I've noticed:
1. erase data 4G only get error mentioned above: "Please try again later"
2. turn on wifi (and 4G off) get no message but no update.
3. turn off wifi and "download suspended" appears (and never changes)
4. reboot to 4G only, get "An unexpected error has occured. Please try again later."
Stuck.
UPDATE:
My router shows a request to ws-cloud434-blur.svcmot.com from my phone. If I change my DNS to OpenDNS (hijackers) and try to update I see references to the "website not found" garbage that OpenDNS injects. Unfortunately I dismantled my squid setup so I can't see the exact url that is being attempted only the DNS error when OpenDNS injects it. I'm tempted to bring squid up just so I can figure out what is actually being requested on the update server.
Yea I can update to the latest via the computer, but then I cannot restore root so guess I will be waiting. I piicked a great time to do this ha ha.

How did you "via the computer"?
BTW, I did throw squid back in the full urls:
h t t p://ws-cloud434-blur.svcmot.com/blur-services-1.0/ws/upgrade/2/check_for_upgrade/(hex/dec numbers)
h t t p://ws-cloud434-blur.svcmot.com/blur-services-1.0/ws/upgrade/1/report_upgrade_status/(hex/dec numbers)
Both are POSTS and both return "file not found" when I try them from the browser.
Using the Motorola Device Manager. There is an option to update device. But it goes straight from the original ICS to Latest JB. Was not able to get root back afterwards. Voodoo did not even give the option. Tried the RestoreRoot script as well without success.

That's a great try, shame it doesn't let you just install the 0.7.2 update. Did you set Voodoo to temp un-root during the update?

Yes. Temp Unroot then flashed with Device Manager. Went to Voodoo and SuperUser had to be reinstalled. Did that, still did not give me an option to re-root.

But... I think it did. I just updated two devices using the Device Update tool. This is from memory but...
1) Connect, right click your taskbar and click check for updates.
2) It will say there is a 6MB download available to go to 0.7.2, accept it.
3) Updater downloads it, reboots your phone, applies it, etc.
4) Once fully booted, it prompts again, there's a new update available.
[do your rooting here]
5) Accept this update. It will download now a much larger file (200+ MB if i recall) to get you to the latest version
6) It reboots, applies the update, reboots, etc.
Unfortunately, I was too eager to get on the latest and greatest ROM before dropping by, so I did it from a vanilla new-phone upgrade. I did not root the device.

Me301t ota problem on each firmware.

Hello

Same here but using TF700.
Anyone else experiencing this issue? I wonder is this is really related to a sever issue.
I used logcat and i found that DMClint can't connect to mdm.asus.com - propably server is dead. And we must wait until asus repair it. Propably!

Thx! It seems to confirm what I was suspecting.
Funny that it happen at the same time that I was rooting my tablet and trying to unlock it after.
Long story short I taught I did something wrong and I did revert back to the stock ROM to have a clear unroot thinking that was the problem.
At that point, the only logical explanation was the server down.
note that my last successful OTA verification was made last Friday night at 21:19
Funny thing that mdm.asus.com is still pingable.
After 3 days with my tf300t i managed to successfully check for an update once almost one hour ago. Now its just gives me the same error
checked the server and i get these
Server Status for mdm.asus.com:
HTTP: Website is either loading slow or offline.
FTP: There seems to be a problem connecting to FTP
MAIL (Pop3): There seems to be a problem with the Pop3
MAIL (SMTP): Failed connecting to SMTP
MySQL: The MySQL seems to be offline.
But the best solution is if it is possibble to downloqd dlpkgfile manualy, anyone know how to do it?
