I will try to keep this as concise as possible.
I have a Tmobile version of Htc One S, currently using it in Europe.
I am:
-network unlocked (using an Orange sim card)
- bootloader Unlocked
- #rooted
- TWRP recovery
-Supercid 1111111
-S-Off
-running CM10.1 nightly 20130312
-flashed europe radio 1.11 with Aroma installer.
However, I would like to install the latest RUU for Europe, thus I have some questions:
1. Will an European RUU work on my tmob ville, Radio wise and everything?
2. Will installing a RUU relock my bootloader?
3. Will installing a RUU upgrade my bootloader version?
4. Will installing a RUU unroot my device?
5. Will installing a RUU change it back to S-ON?
6. Will installing a RUU delete the recovery image?
* From my brief and noobish experience with this procedures, I'm guessing "Yes" to questions no. 2,3,4. Not so sure about 1,5,6.
Thank you!

1. Yes, but you have to change CID back to HTC__102 if you want get further OTA updates. Highly recommend! Of not you force a brick!
2. No, you have to do a this before running the RUU. otherwise you get an error message.
3. Yes, if it's a newer RUU...
4. yes
5. No
6. If you mean your Nandroid Backup, no
If you mean your custom recovery at all, yes

I thought having 11111111 Cid, allows you to install any kind of RUU, regardless of region an carrier.

Quick questions!!
My CID is BM__001 (Bell Mobility Canada). It is rooted, unlocked bootloader and CWRM recovery
I want the latest update (4,1 sense and not the 4.0 I'm stuck with and down the line the latest jellybean) WITHOUT a custom rom!
If I change Cid to HTC__001 I have read I can apply the international unbranded RUU and I will get them.
1. Will I have to flash radios or anything of the sort in order to make it work with my network in Canada?
2. What are the advantages of keeping my Bell CID?
3. What are the advantages of CHANGING to the HTC__001 CID?
4. Is it possible without s-off?
Sorry for the noobish questions put couldnt find simple answers to these questions!

If your phone already has the bootloader unlocked and a custom recovery why not just flash a rom?
Thanks for the answer!
Because I want to be able to OTA update without loosing all my data and settings..
With a custom ROM it will be a bit more of a hassle.
1. If I change my CID will I have to flash the RUU or will it do it by itself?

You would have to run a RUU with the one you would like to receive future updates from. This will relock your bootloader so you would have to unlock it again through htcdev.
Hi.
I'm looking for the latest RUU ROM (WWE or Europe) for our Desire S. I want to completely remove anything from phone and back to the factory state (after that official unlock and root).
Which version is the latest one?
Greetings.

The latest is ICS RUU 14.01.401.2
But the better way (that will keep your warranty, that is void by htcdev.com) will be:
S-OFF (downgrade without using htcdev if your current bootloader is 2.x or go straight to revolutionary.io if it is 0.98.x)
Change the bootloader to 7.xx and flash 4EXT recovery touch
Flash the ICS RUU (keeping your hboot and recovery) and root it
For each step there is a dedicated Guide that you can find in the Index thread
Good luck :good:
How to change bootloader to 7.xx (as you wrote) or ENG bootloader (as in index topic)?
Does flashing via official RUU ICS file will keep my S-OFF and 7.xx/eng bootloader?
Is the 7.xx bootloader same as ENG bootloader? Which one is better and why?
Hello everybody.
I've been playing with my phone and tryed ViperOneS and PA 3.99, with no install issues (my phone is unlocked and has a twrp recovery).
I also changed my CID via fastboot and editing file with an hex editor, and got supercid.
Now i wanted to try some other ROMs such as MaximusHD, wich requires S-OFF, and i decided to s-off.
I read in a thread that someone got a bricked phone while performing the S-off procedure with superCID and found this warning in a guide.
"Special note for One S users - flashing the OTA firmware (which you are initiating, but not actually doing here) likes to BRICK superCID phones for some reason."
Is it "safe" to follow these (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155135) instructions with superCID? It says you must have it, but it likes to brick SuperCID phones..
Is there a better way to achieve s-off, on a SuperCID phone?

And after i find out my ROM version, if not one of these, how to change my ROM version?

You have to be on stock Rom to do it then you would find your build number
Then apply it to the correct build number and your mobile phone provider

So i'll have to:
1) Remove the supercid and put back my original CID (is this required? or can i put a stock rom while having supercid?)
2) Find a stock ROM for my original CID whose build number is one of the build numbers listed on moonshine download page for htc one s
(question: if 1) is true: what if there is no stock rom supported by moonshine for my HTC__102 CID?)
3) flash the ROM
4) download the apporpriate monnshine.zip and run the distiller
5) enjoy
Sorry for all those questions, but it's not clear for me.

But with supercid, which RUU should i choose to install before using moonshine patch?
If i understand correclty, you have to choose the RUU based on your CID.. is that correct?
Hi guys,
so happy to be a part of this community!
My HTC One S is unlocked, rooted and S-ON:
CID: T-MOB102
HBOOT: 2.15
I'm currently using MaximusHD 10.0 (though I couldn't make the firmware upgrade because I'm not S-OFF).
I'm creating this thread because none of the currently opened ones covers my case. I wanted to S-OFF earlier and tried Facepalm but could not get superCID (as far as I know this is because of the write protection), so this method didn't work for me. Moonshine I think will not work also, because I'm not using a stock ROM. ( From the Moonshine instructions: 8. Use the matching Stock RUU, some stock based ROMs may work, but we cannot test them all.)
Before flashing MaximusHD 10.0 I've made a backup of my original 4.1.1 ROM that came with the device with the custom recovery (TWRP 2.4.3.0 as far as I can remember). Unfortunately when I try restoring from backup my device is in a bootloop.
Can you please advise how to obtain S-OFF so that I can enjoy the MaximusHD?
Please accept my apologies if this is not the right place for this thread.
Did you try this?

No, unfortunately I could not find stock RUU for TMOBA devices
If you need stock ruu go to www.htc.com and select your device and download the file for this file to work you need your bootloader to be lock stock or relocked. and just run the ruu and it shold work..
so you dont have any problems enter fastboot and make sure it says fastboot usb and than run ruu and it should put your phone to stock. I just did this with my phone.
Are you refering to the downloads at htcdev because I couldn't find anything else?
hi guys, i was undecided about the rom. im on maximus hd now but i want also kitkat, and so install the last snapshot (the monthly cyanogenmod release). what do you think? and what i have to do now for install it? i wnat to go back to 2.15 hboot, please help me

Maybe this can help you to go back to hboot 2.15.
For CM follow the instructions in the first post of this thread.
The latest snapshot can be found here. GAPPS can be found e.g. here or here.
I'm a bit confused.
Currently on Hboot 2.16 , S-Off, TWRP 2.8.0.1 and maxumiusHD.
Can I install official CM 10.2?

Yeah, I understood that. All you got to do is following the instructions in the first link I posted in my first answer. ?
in an italian forum i have see that i can flash the hboot for downgrade, without installing the RUU.. here the link if you understand something http://www.androidiani.com/forum/ht.../354323-guida-s4-upgrade-downgrade-hboot.html
so what i have to do?

Well, I've always been using a RUU if I wanted to downgrade so I don't know which way is the best. All I can say is that I never had any problems with downgrading by using RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.31.401.5_Radio_1.06es.50.02.31_10.09a.50.04L_release_275655_signed.exe and the CID HTC__102. Maybe it's not the fastest way (you need to upgrade by official OTA's afterwards to get hboot 2.15) but it works.

If you use RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.31.401.5_Radio_1 .06es.50.02.31_10.09a.50.04L_release_275655_signed.exe for downgrading then yes. Otherwise you'll brick your phone by installing the official OTA's while you are on CID 11111111.
So first installing the RUU then return to my cid? And then i can install cm?
Sent from my HTC One S using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
1. Return to your CID (in my case HTC__102)
2. Use the corresponding RUU (in my case RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.31.401.5_Radio_1 .06es.50.02.31_10.09a.50.04L_release_275655_signed.exe; your Phone has to be in fastboot USB mode; maybe you have to relock your bootloader)
3. Install official OTA's to get from ICS to JB with hboot 2.15 (with CID 11111111 this step will brick your phone)
4. Unlock bootloader if needed
5. Return to Super CID if you want (actually not needed since you only need it for facepalm s-off as far as I know)
6. Flash TWRP/CWM (I prefer TWRP)
7. Flash latest CM snapshot
8. Flash GAPPS
9. Enjoy
It's not the fastest way but I never had problems as the 3G loss that is mentioned in some threads. More or less these are the same steps that are mentioned in the link I posted in my first answer.
And If i install the jb ruu?
Sent from my HTC One S using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I've never used any other RUU than the one I mentioned above. So I don't know whether a JB RUU can brick your phone while you are on Super CID. Nevertheless the steps you need to do are the same with a JB RUU except that you can leave out the installation of the original OTA's.
