Tethering with AT&T - Windows Phone 8x by HTC

Hi All,
I have a HTC 8X. It's a Bell CA version but unlocked and I use it on AT&T. I recently upgraded my data plan to include tethering but have some issues.
I've tried with multiple devices so its definitely my phone with the issue. I am able to turn on sharing and connect via wifi to my phone. My phone shows that I am successfully connected but I cannot reach the internet. AT&T have checked the provisioning of the account and tell me it should be working. The only thing I can think of is there is some inner workings where Bell and AT&T differ.
Anyone got any ideas for me please? Cheers.

I have a U.S. Cellular on Verizon but I was converted recently from Alltel. So I actually got the U.S. Cellular TP2 activated on Alltel then was brought over with the conversion. Everything seems to work except when I boot to Android data is flaky but use to work fine on Alltel they have an open ticket for me. Give them a call and talk with a tech to get it activated. Just don't say anything about it being a U.S. Cellular phone and you might get luck. If they say its not a Verizon TP2 then disagree and ask them to force it through. We are suppose to be able to take our devices from one carrier to another as long as its CDMA to CDMA technology per FCC order. Verizon also joined the Open Device a few years ago so it should not be a problem. Good luck!
Oh but mine is still all setup for Alltel...must be a grandfather thing but at least on Windows Mobile everything still works. I tired to configure it for Verizon but data did not seem to work. And mine still says U.S. Cellular as the carrier....wish I could get that to go away.

[Q] How to unlock Internet Sharing on AT&T phones?

Hi,
I have an unlocked AT&T Samsung Focus Flash.
The problem is that I don't use AT&T as carrier, but I'm actually using the phone in Italy using 3.
When I try to activate the Internet Sharing using the Setting->Internet Sharing option, it says I should activate this feature in my data plan or contact AT&T. Obviously, since I don't use AT&T and I don't have a data plan with them, I cannot do that.
Is there a way to activate internet sharing so that I can use it with my Italian data plan?
Thanks!
EDIT: I've actually solved my problem. This guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1334248&highlight=at&t
really works well and now my internet sharing is working great!
Im having the exact same issue but with a samsung focus 2, and im from costa rica, carrier is movistar, any luck with that? >.<
The same tool will work for any Samsung phone, if the phone's firmware isn't too recent. @Sidhenidon, how long have you had your phone? If you've installed updates, it's probably too late to apply the hack now, but you could try to restore Zune backup (which will downgrade the firmware) and see if your older version is compatible.

Model: HTC C625a

Hey All,
I have a Model: HTC C625a (PM23300) originally a Bell Canada phone but unlocked and being used on ATT. Does anyone know if I could flash the ATT factory ROM on this phone? Bell have been slow with any OTA updates and I'm still waiting for portico. As far as I know, the radios are the same.
Anyone done this? Cheers.
Crossing paths again . Did you ever get the Portico update pushed from Bell?

Hey! Yep, finally got it but now this tethering thing is bugging the hell out of me... maybe its time for a new phone???
Just FYI guys, I have a Bell 8X on the Bell network, and can tether without any problems. Not sure if LTE works, there's no LTE yet where I live.
I also have an 8X on Bell, tethering works, and have reached as fast as 18 down / 14 up, with 67ms ping in central Vancouver.
I have a Bell 8x on the Fido network and I can tether on LTE as well.
Sent from my C625a using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
The problem is that the phone would tether but would not let the tethered device tunnel through to the internet. It would connect to the devices no problem just no internet connectivity.
I called AT&T and while surprisingly helpful, they didn't have a clue. Then I got in touch with HTC, they tried a couple things and suggested that my phone had a problem and while I could send it back in for "repair", they would just send me a duplicate Bell phone. It is in fact still under warranty. Now that sounded like a plan right up until they told me that it would then be locked to Bell when I got it back and that this new DCMA law now says that only the carrier (Bell in this case) can unlock a carrier branded phone. How do you like that?
So, I have retired my 8X and gone back to a Lumia. I really did love the phone and I hope that HTC brings out a couple new WP8's in the next few months. Something maybe in a 32GB and with SDHC card support??
Anyway, good luck to you all. It is a great phone but I'm not going to buy another new one. This is my second 8X as it is. I'll just wait and see what's next...
Cheers.

[Q] Phone will not connect to local WIND network

Does anyone have experience with HTC One S phones on the WIND mobility service in Canada?
After I initiated a software upgrade (prompted by my phone) my phone stopped working? I am assuming something was corrupted in the process. I had someone on this forum help to fix the problem but after numerous attempts the phone is now able to connect while roaming to other local networks (Bell, Telus) but is unable to connect to the local WIND network. Apparently HTC has not provided a RUU that will work for this phone on WIND.
Thanks

Need help, converting T-MO SM-G955U to the unlocked/international? version

Hello, I was a very active member of this forum but I been long time doing nothing but getting phones and not rooting them or custom roms.
Now I been with T-Mo when the S8+ was in pre order, I got the phones, now I switched to MetroPCS....
The problem is I had Wi-Fi calling with Tmo but when I put the Metro SIM it reboots and the Wi-Fi calling disappear. My friend has 2 Notes 8, he got them factory unlocked and he was with Tmo with Wi-Fi calling then he switch to Metro and his Wi-Fi calling works too, I believe my problem is Tmo software.
I want to flash my phones with the unlocked/international? version, how I do this without losing Samsung pay? even better if I can do it without losing any data at all.
Any suggestions? Thanks

Check your APN against your friends phone that gets Wi-Fi calling.
