Hi fellow XDA friends,
I purchased a 32 gb microSD card not too long ago. I was transferring music music one day and it seemed successful (note, i only transferred around 200 mb which is like 30 songs). Then the next day i transferred more music, this is when things started to @$%! up.
I transferred all my music on to the MicroSD card (around 10 gbs) and then the card said that it only had 21.3 gb out of 31.3gb which is true.
I went into the music app on my device (Jiayu G3) and saw only a FRICTION of the music i put on to the card (my estimate would be around 3-4 gb worth of music).
I was shocked by this so i tried again, reformatted the card and everything..waited endless hours for data to transfer, same result everytime.
Right now I am pretty mad. My theory is that the card is probably 4-6 gb instead of 32 gb and whenever i put more than 4-6 gb of music i realize that some music files/folders delete to replace the new music........what is wrong with my sd card?? I tried FAT32 and NTFS.
Thanks. Help is VERY appreciated.

I had a Wintec 16 GB Class 10 MicroSD in my USB slot, using an Elago Mobile Nano II USB 2.0 microSDHC Flash Memory Card Reader.
Worked fine for a couple of weeks.
Then, I tried to transfer a 500 MB video file from my dropload folder to it, and the transfer kept crashing. The file showe up only when I read the card in Windows, as 190 MB. And, it would not delete. So, I formatted the card, and bang, zoom, dead card. Won't format, won't read.
Happily, I am within Newegg's exchange period, so it is being returned.
But, has anyone else been able to transfer files that big? In the future, should I rely on Windows to put large files onto a MicroSD?
Wintec cards are pretty much crap... I bought 2 16gb class 10's at Frys and one of them worked for about a day. Now I can't even format the thing... I'd return it but I bought them in Vegas and took them home to Vancouver. I was a bit weary about them due to the price but bought them anyways... I have a feeling the second one will fail at any point too..
I moved 15GB to my Sandisk at once and got no error. Guess I'll stick to the brands that work.
Hello everyone.
I have this strange things going on with my microSD card.
Recentely i bought 32 GB card for my nexus one (using cyanogen mod 7)
When i use that card on my pc i can write all the files at 5 MB/s speed. Then i put it inside my phone and it doesn't mount. After few tries like 4 or 5 it mounts but after that some files are gone from sd card. Allways leaving like 30 GB of empty space. So if i write more it will delete some so it would be 30 GB. Then it mounts normally.
Ok now more then half of you will say that this is fake card or smth. But i downloaded H2testw program and checked my card. Everything is fine with it. The program wrote 32 GB of data and verified everything. Its just problems with phone reading SD card. Anyone can help me ?
Hmm........
So noone has any ideas ?
Check your phone for firmware updates that might raise it to the 32 gb ceiling. Maybe there is a Cyanogen 7 update that will take care of this for you. Also does your phone support SDHC cards?
SD Card Not reading correctly
If you haven't done so, you might want to check the specs of your device to ensure that it will accept 32GB. Some devices top out at 8 and 16GB respectively.

That, and I would upgrade to the latest nightly of CM7.
It is probably not "32gb" "Genuine" memory card.
I've purchased the memory card couple months back and
It says "16gb" when I put musics/videos in the memory card, it was unreadable and unplayable. I think it had actual memory of "2gb", so yes, I've been scammed by Chinese people =P.
I recommend you to check your actual memory by using this program
"H2testw"
A few months ago, I purchased a 32 GB Class 10 Micro SD card. It went bad a few days ago and I cannot get anything to read it.
The issue is this: because I have no sd card inside my phone, I can't take pictures, listen to music, etc. However, I recall doing something to make my micro sd card the primary storage, where before it was the internal sd card that stored all the pictures and music.
What can I do to revert to making the internal sd card the primary storage location for all my files?
Thanks for any help.

G2X. I am currently running the latest CM7 Nightly.
Hi!
I've replaced my stock 8 GB SD Card to a 32 GB in my HD7 according to the thread in HD7 General forum.
I've used my phone for the last couple of month (HD7 Deepshining ROMs, mainly) without any issues but last week my card filled up (due to photoes, mail attachments, etc.) to 16 Gb (still got 14-16 Gb free space) and I've got random reboots. Some of the reboots ended with the message that my storage card got corrupted and it needs to be reformatted or replaced. Once I hit restart all went back to normal till the next random reboot and so on.
I've flashed Deepshining 7.7 and emptied my card so everything is normal again as I'm still under the 16 GB "barrier".
I assume that the phone is limited to the 16 GB max storage size and cannot address the card above that space. I wanted to ask if anyone using larger cards than 16 GB has filled up its card ever without any issues? Is this a limit designed in OS or my card is really damaged? I don't like the idea to disassemble my phone just check the card for errors.

Cina
Hi,
I bought a San Disk Class 10 128gb Micro SDXC card the other day on amazon.
I put about 40 gb of music on it and it seemed to work fine. Everything was fast and fluid. I then added more to where I had about 90 gb of music on the card. After that, I noticed the music menu on Walkman was taking a long time to load. When I would click on an artist, it would take a few seconds and then show the albums/songs.
Now, the phone completely freezes up if I open the walkman app, or even try to open Photos with the SD card in. I tried putting the SD card in my Surface Pro 3, and everything loaded fine, and quickly. My other SD card (64GB San Disk) didn't have any kind of issues with loading things up. Anyone have any advice with this? You think my card is busted?
Could be an issue with the android version, I'm waiting for lollipop since it "fixes" what Google changed with SD card compatibility. On my old m8 the sd card kept corrupting and when it was working the music would sometimes not play although sometimes it would, some pictures wouldn't show up. I then got it replaced and the same thing happened.
I have both the Sandisk and Lexar 128GB cards, both work fine. What may be happening is you're overloading the process that catalogs the info on the drive. Try clearing the data and cache for Media Storage and Walkman apps.
I've used the Sandisk 128GB micro sdxc for a couple of months and had the same problem.
I'm now using a Samsung 128GB Pro and i've not encountered that problem since (about five weeks now).
Will update in a month or two if I encounter any problems with the Samsung card

I have the sandisk 128gb micro sdxc card as well. been using it for 2 months with no issues noted. having said that i only have 1.5gb of music and the card is only around 29gb full.
I use Neutron as my music player won't touch Walkman sorry. If Walkman is anything like Album it sucks. My card cost ~$115 so I do not expect any problems.

Thought Z3 could only be expanded by 64Gb..card capacity being too high might be your problem...experienced same issue when I put my 64Gb card in an old HTC sensation..
