Are you sick of searching through a 200 page thread over one topic just to find the download link to the newest thread?
Well over at allshadow.com I have compiled all of the information of the Firmwares and update everyone on the newest builds
Sure there's a sticky of a chart but how could a chart help you find the newest updates?

nice work. I like how everything is there for newbies to go by without posting multiple topics.
This would be a nice sticky or a reference site to point all questions about firmware to.
I fixed, i sorta found that out.
Do you want me to port this thread over? It wont take that long?
You don't mention the holiday firmware for both us and eu

What do you mean? This is the most recent firmware's
I will add those in a sec
I'm currently running the following
signed-dream_gfh_eu-ota-147201.ea8cd686.zip
updated with
signed-gfh_eu-CRB43-from-CRB21.62e94a26.zip
(update is signed-gfh-CRB43-from-CRB21.c88b03d2.zip for us)
I don't know the name of the eu CRB43 file without upgrading though if there is one :-(
Basically this is the nearest I can get to a non t-mobile adp like firmware for europe, unless you know of another ;-)
Please don't let this thread go to waste.
I agree completely. A thread called 'Everything about Firmwares' with incomplete information would be a waste ;-)

Well I was only giving information on the newest builds, sorta waste of your time if you flash RC30, who in the world would do that? I will update to make everyone happier.
Who would want to flash RC30 when a) I'm in europe and b) RCB43 gfh is out?
[None]
This thread has Great Info for new Android Users, let's try to keep it alive don't just trash it with off topic posts. Great Job Matt
I'm not trashing the thread, just trying to make sure the information is complete as it would be great to have it all in one place
Anything else you want me to add> I just added all the older builds and added some new sections on User Created Firmware Changes. Thanks for the Props
Hi, I have scoured the web for information but several hours later I am none the wiser.
I would like to root my device in order to optimize its performance. I am super confused about: cf-root, mobile/pc odin, android version, etc. I still have no idea what is appropriate for my device. :crying: Please point me in the right direction.
I have found may threads out there with very detailed instructions, but I can't figure out if that's what I need. I'm apparently on Gingerbread, but what do I need now? The Icecream, the other one?
Reason for rooting: phone too slow with so many apps loading themselves in the background. I want to be able to prevent all these [expletive deleted] apps from loading themselves automatically. I also want to remove the stock apps I don't need (but can't now remove). I'm tired of factory resetting every other week to improve performance.
Ultimate purpose: phone, sms, whatsapp, news. That's it. I don't need 3d porn or anything. My needs are extremely minimal.
Thanks for any pointers! :good:

Thanks Sewrizer. I'd rather brick the phone than pay for the service. I already have a more recent phone, so this is more of a second device. It's just that I like the typing better so I haven't completely stopped using it. I guess I'm sort of relishing the idea of an experiment with it as well.
Do you have a link to instructions for the above? If it works for your friend, it's good enough for me.
Unless I hear something back, I'm getting ready to try this:

thanks a lot.
which cf-root?
Thanks Sewrizer. As it happens these are the instructions I started with, and from which a lot of confusion arose (I can't post urls yet).
The first link is to Odin3 v1.85, but I have found Odin3 v1.87. Not sure if there is a later version. It says somewhere that the latest version is best.
The second link is to a series of posts with many download links. Somewhere down the page it states that if you're confused, then:
First, go to Settings -> About phone -> Build number. It should say something like FROYO.xxJPy. It's primarily the JPy that we are interested in. Try to match that with a download link available in this (and the next few) posts. Some of the downloads dont just have JPy file name format, but are called xx_xxx_JPy.
Let me explain that. Samsung isn't always very precise in naming/marking their different (leaked) firmwares. CF-Root's are modified kernels, the filenames explain in more detail which exact firmware ROM the base kernel was taken from, for those experts who understand.
If you are not one of those people, go back to the JPy thing. The "y" in JPy is 0-9, A-Z. If they run out of numbers, they use letters. So A would be 10 (9 + 1), while Z would be 35 (9 + 26). Find the one that is closest to yours, if yours is not present, and flash that one.

Well, my build number is of the form GINGERBREAD.zsjv6, which doesn't fit the pattern described (I don't see any JPy, I see jv6), so which version of CF-Root should I download?
GT-19000. Firmware Version: 2.3.3. Baseband Version: I9000ZSJV6. Kernel Version:2.6.35.7. Build number: GINGERBREAD.zsjv6
Thanks!
How to root your S3
Hi, I used one available in droid lessons, but i'm not allowed to post links yet. Just look in google for droid lessons and then " How to Root the Samsung Galaxy S3 " It was really easy, and worked great for me.

Looks like that tutorial was only good for stock froyo users. Since you have gingerbread you must have updated your phone. I think you may have to downgrade from 2.3 to 2.2.

How lazy are you, it's on the front page for the last seven months. Please do a search for posting, all updates coming in are going into the below thread.
It would be quicker to search than to enter a new post, and waste everyones time.

Look how easy it is, the post in the forum have the name ( [GT-I9505][Official Firmwares] I9505XXUEMJ7 (Android 4.3) - Italy (ITV) [30-10-13] )
so every one will think that post is for I9505XXUEMJ7 (Android 4.3) - Italy (ITV) only.
Only inside the post it is says that is Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 Stock Firmware Collection.
So i recomend admins change the post name, to Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 Stock Firmware Collection, to make it easy to find.
Thx for your replay, but you didn´t neet to be agressive. We are here to help.

Sorry man, years of people not searching has frayed me a bit around the edges. The name of that keeps changing looking back so a more generic title would probably help.
That's up to the OP, but you could include that in your post, and BTW Czech Republic is uploading and almost available in Kies for anyone in that country.

Hi. this is my experience for updating to kitkat. btw i dont know if you have any experience and i will assume that you have as you did not state it in your thread.

third - go to this link below and download the latest nightly or weekly (your choice). this is the official supported custom rom from the only one master dhiru.

Phone am ready to reinstalling rom, but I do not know what to choose from cm12 above numbers. I've never found one this marking. I still someone? thanks
Hi,
It would be best to ask in the rom thread you found the downloads in. I'm also assuming those are made for your exact device make and model number.
But it looks to me they are simply created on different days. The first is November 19, 2014 and the second one is December 31, 2014. Many roms get named that way, with the build date in filename.
Good luck!
j
I understand and I think that it is continuously updated. That is why there are so many files. So I pick the last one and install.
When I looked at the model number or any information about the phone I found no specific data. I hope it will be good.
One more thing. It is in the Czech language supported?
I couldn't tell you I'm afraid. I don't own your device and haven't used it. Again, check settings or ask in the rom thread. ?
5
that you did not consult me too. I hope that the rom i cz, and me will go lollipop upload to your phone when mam android 4.2.2 jb
I'm sorry , I don't understand what you are asking. You don't know where to ask for help? Ask in the thread that you found the rom in.
Here is your device section....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-mini
The general has lots of info. The Q&A section is for asking for help. And the 2 Development sections have roms for your device. Cm12 as well, if there is one. ?
Good luck! Thread closed.
