[Q] Bug with camera and dictionary

Hi,
I have some bug with Dexter 1.3 bugfix3, when I launch camera, I can record a movie but then when I goback to camera to take picture, I haven't any picture, I just see menu and screen is black were it will normally have the picture of what I want to take. To fix I have to wipe dalvik cache and cache.
So, someone know how to fix ?
More, I haven't any word prediction on the ROM in french, does someone know how to have ?

I don't know about the camera but you can try this gingerbread keyboard , I believe French is in there

Are the wipes absolutely necessary, or does a reboot without the wipes also fix the problem?
The dictionary prediction is also awful for English--I also use gingerbread keyboard as a workaround.

Wipe is necessary, reboot don't fix the problem.
PS: For keyboard, it is a white or an orange keyboard ?

The ginger original glass is a std keyboard, my mod (the darkfroyo) is black/orange, functionally they are both the same.

I also used you rom and got the same issues with the camera.
I prefer using khalpowers v4 rom . I get a black screen while being in the camera menue rarely .When i get it i jist restart the phone.

The problem is that I dislike khalpowers v4 theme and that I have errors on boot with this.

I have the same problem when I used the camcorder or camera to take pictures, the screen goes black, and I have to reboot to use it. but as that happens, I've lost the opportunity to take photos or videos, that is, having the camera at the right time.
The only solution is to reboot and / or clean cache?
PS: I really desperate to be restarting the phone to use the camera, anyone know how to fix it?

Re flash means to restore factory settings? If you change a class 4 SD could improve performance and your camera phone?

Do you have another fix than reflash because it not the first time I flash this ROM and I follow all steps before flashing so, I don't mind that it will fix and I don't want to lose all my apps.

It looks to be fixed for me, I don't know how and I am not sure but I just add camera to ignore list from autokiller and it's seen to be fixed, I can record a movie view it and then take pictures.
I will post if I have again this bug.

I've never seen an ignore list in Autokiller. Autokiller just tweaks the AndroidOS memory manager (minfree parameters). It sounds like maybe you're using a task killer not a minfree tweaker. You might want to do a little research on task killers in froyo. My understanding is that they quite often cause more harm than good. Optimizing minfree parameters on the other hand can be quite helpful.

mmmm but I do not use any application to kill applications, then I do not think it is the problem.

So, it could just be that for me because I did that and I took some movies then I reboot and bug leave.

Yes, in my case the problem is that after using some applications and try to use the camera no longer works, but after a restart work well. Then come back to use some applications and the camera no longer works.
I am using the Dexter ROM with all patches.

Download launcher pro and if you want, update your SU binary.

Nope, should be able to flash it over the top, it flashes everything, so it shouldn't be a problem.

the launcher does rotate when you open the screen though, which i like because it isnt buggy like a few other launchers.
fav improvements is that is feels way more stable.
jumping to diffrent applications is faster
sending and receiving pictures works now while on wifi (before i would have to get off wifi to send and receive)
cant wait for a different lockscreen... other than that, everything on this rom is just pure win.

Its cause the menus are controlled by the framework on stock launchers, our framework isnt aosp. which is why i suggested LauncherPro

Overdose is by far the smoothest rom I've tried for our sk4g. Not very many bugs if at all.
Always remember to do a full wipe regardless of what rom you're coming from before flashing. Otherwise the bugs you're experiencing could be entirely your own fault.

Hey I would also like to say that I think the 10 post thing is BS, I don't have a question I just want to post a comment, or I do have a question and NO it hasn't already been asked. Not really a huge deal. Just really annoying.

I agree with most of the previous posters here, on a couple of fronts. First off, the 10 post minimum to post in the Dev forums is a big pain in the backside.
Next up, GO is a great ROM. I'd been running a rooted and very slightly tweaked version of the stock SK4G ROM, and it was really annoying -- extremely slow, prone to freezing and FC'ing on multiple apps, the works. I tried installing GCv2 last month but could never manage to get it working -- had to ODIN the phone back to to original stock just to debrick it and get it boot up.
However I do have one specific question. Is there any way to retrieve the original sounds/ringtones (especially the notification ringtones) from the stock Sidekick 4G and add them to this? I like some of the new ringtones and sounds available with Glorious Overdrive, but would prefer to have at least a few of the original ones available as well.

You can, just open the stock roms zip from a computer and look in the folders for sounds can't remember now, but maybe in media? Then put them on your SD card In a folder called ringtones or notifications and your current rom will see it.

I don't want to be a pest or anything , but is it anyway you could post a tutorial on how to get this Rom. I tried to ODIN my phone to KJ2 , but it stuck me in the logo loop. Could you please help ?

The ODIN for KJ2 does not work, you can just flash over kd1 or kg2, there shouldn't be any issues.

not having this problem buuuut, here and there when i do open gallery, ill have an extreme lag, and sometimes the gallery will even freeze the phone.
going to try to format sd card, then place my pics back on, see if that fixes anything

Doesn't resize to match resolution of screen but only loose a small strip down one side so no big issue.

yer i get the same with kingdroid..hoping some genius can alter it a bit for us eventually

Loads on my US Galaxy S3 (Verizon). Weather won't load. Says "Enable location services and mobile data to update weather" both of which are enabled (I turned Wi-Fi off, I have full 4G, etc). Looks good other than no weather. I will have to try more later. Thanks for posting.

Drive Link was doing the same for me since I installed it shortly after Denny uploaded it (thanks btw!). It suddenly kicked into life this afternoon for no apparant reason, so it may be worth persisting with it.
Got to say despite a handful of niggles, I do like it as an in-car player etc. The full screen seems to work fine on my stock note.
Niggles I have found are that:
Media control from my Bluetooth car stereo does not work, with or without the media control app from the play store.
scrobbling to last.fm doesn't work (so my playing stats are going down)
There is no easy way I have found to skip back to the drive now app from navigation, other than long pressing the home button and switching using task manager, which seems a bit clunky
I am still trying to find way to add a "shuffle all" button as a shortcut, instead of selecting "All Songs", playing, and then shuffling.
It has not automatically picked up my starred locations from Google Maps/Navigation
Other than that I like it a lot, and am hughly appreciative of Denny for posting the APK.

word of warning to anyone that wants to use this with mirror link (specifically a sony HU) this on my note caused my HU to boot loop. had to reset it

Installed yesterday and got same issue with weather and location but turned on this morning and working fine. Ill have to play around with it today when get a chance.

[MOD][Xposed] Fix talkback issues

Requires Xposed Framework!
You're using accessibility settings for something like Dynamic Notifications. You scan for Wi-Fi and you get "Scan finished", you're playing a video, and you can't hide the UI.
Issues fixed by this mod:
Doing a Wi-Fi scan in Settings makes the device speak "Scan finished".
Playing a video on the Samsung Galaxy S4 with accessibility enabled prevents the UI from being hidden when the video is clicked.
The device speaks "Folder opened/closed" when a folder is opened/closed on 4.1.2 devices.
This mod fixes those.
Know some more of these? Post them here and I'll try to kill them with fire.
Compatibility:
Tested only with the Galaxy S4, might work with other devices.

Now whenever you enable an accessiblity provider it turns off Multiview and other S Features. But you can re-enable them and they work.
You should really post this at Samsungs developer bug/thread too. I am sure many developers would be thankful.

Only fix i have is freezing talkback and all Samsung tts stock apps...

Fixing those issues shouldn't be hard, I'll get a Galaxy Note 2 and work on it.

International s4: GT I9505, mine say toooo much things, as long i'm using accessibility for some apps, with stock tts not frozen...

This may sound like a stupid question, but exactly does this mod do? what I want it to do is: when i turn a service on in accessibility settings, it automaticly turns talkback on although i ask it to turn that on.

Yes, in a way, the only two issues I fixed are in the first post, you can mention any other issues with your device model and I'll try to fix those.

Hey OP, did some more testing, turns out it was a different module that was causing the strange camera behavior. I've revised my above posts accordingly to ensure there is no confusion, and have re-installed your module.

Sorry still not working for me. I have ticked it in the modules and rebooted over and over. Still get those annoyances when i check the email or open a folder...the voice still tells me everything i do.

Oh ok. I thought this also kills all those annoying sound feedback for everything you do. Also the stupid requirement of turning off smart stay, smart pause, air view, air gesture, MultiWindow options in order to use accessibility options. Is it also possible to kill those also? Thanks for all your work.

i dont think 3g works mate but im not 100% sure on that but i know that hdmi is working fine for me but not sure about crop and zoom

Anyway so no there is no 3g capability in this rom, as we don't have source to make it, and none of us own a tf300tg so there is no way we can test.
HDMI does work but i don't really understand this whole crop thing?....

Click seven times on the Build option under "About" in settings to enable Dev. Options. Then go to Performance in Settings and you can change anything from there.

Just a curious question, not trying to complain as I enjoy this ROM...
I am just having ongoing issues that have persisted across all versions.
Screen delayed up to a minute when pressing power button to turn on/unlock, ect...
Having a lot of persistent lock ups after tablet has set overnight especially and upon opening any given app requiring a long press of power button to force a reboot.
Persistent lag but seems to go away for awhile again, after a reboot.
Any ideas on how/where/what to troubleshoot?

Also has anyone used Skype and get audio from the other party but they can't hear you?

The flash issue is known and @hardslog said he had a fix for this ...
We have all just been very busy with L release and what not ....
So you are saying your mic is not working ?

Ok, I did something stupid. Trying to figure out why my Titanium Backup Pro purchased license was no longer working and would only load TIBU as "Free" version and since this rom switched from SuperSU to superuser, thus you get that warning that some things might not function correctly, ect... in Titanium Backup and it apparently prefers SuperSU, I flashed the latest beta from recover of SuperSU...
Well everything seemed fine and well as SuperSU now showed in Settings, however noticed the SuperUser app in the drawer was no longer there and apps were still gaining root access through superuser. This didn't fix issue with TIBU either.
So in an attempt to put things back to intended by this ROM, and get my superuser app back in the drawer, I chose the option within SuperSU to remove to previous root app or whatever.
Issue: I still have root being issued via Superuser, however, the Superuser app is gone from the apps drawer and I can no longer load/access it.
Question: Can I somehow unzip superuser.apk or whatever from the ROM's .zip and if so, place it where intended as in (directory) say using "root explorer" ect... and get that app access back

is there any way to disable the windo resizing? wwhen i open chrome browser it starts off in window mode and if i try to zoom in on the webpage the whole window starts to change sizes.
is there a way to have full screen only or to lock it at a specific size?

is there any way to disable the windo resizing? wwhen i open chrome browser it starts off in window mode and if i try to zoom in on the webpage the whole window starts to change sizes.
is there a way to have full screen only or to lock it at a specific size?

That's a problem specific to the latest version of Chrome.

If I get an older version will it be ok?

Yes, the prior version (38.0.2125.114) works great. It only floats when you want it to.
