Hi is it possible that my tf700 disconnect wifi and not the other way around? Because my Internet disconnect only when I use this device but it also disconnect the wifi on my phone. The frequency varies from day to day but it only happens when I use Youtube or those nvida app stores, never when I surf or read online.
Thx in advance

Hello all,
I have just got a Sony X1. It connects to my home wireless fine. My question is once its connected will it automatically do all browsing/downloading/email through the wireless or do I have to tell it?
Im just worried because my daily 3G usage is very high (nearly 10mb yesterday) even though I try and only download large files when connected to my wireless. I want to make sure its not downloading through 3G when the wireless is switched on..
Thanks!
default is using the most accessible connection...
if wifi is connected it won't try to access the internet thru 3G..
you're safe as long as you make sure your wifi is connected and you have an active internet connection
In my case I've seen many times that the phone still uses the 3G connection even if WiFi is available and connected (maybe for power saving reasons?). So I always disconnect the 3G connection when WiFi is active. Currently I use Mortscript to do this for automatically.
If this problem occurs, you can also use a small useful app called NoData
(can be found in the forum)
Is there such app?
or perhaps something that prevents the phone from disconecting from a wifi conection when it goes to sleep?/
or one that prevents the phone to go sleep while conected to a wifi?
The thing is, my plan is not unlimited and i dont want to use 3G if a wifi connection is available and connecting each time is a pain.
At some point Froyo was doing this (conecting automatically, almost instantl to my home wifi when i opened browser for instance) but not anymore.
cheers
Hi guys
I do not own the watch yet but have just been informed that apparently the WiFi model still relies on a smartphone to connect to the internet, is this true?
(I was told that the WiFi in the watch is simply a WiFi direct and that it will not work when the phone is off.)
My use case is the following: I wish to write my own applications for it that can connect to WiFi networks independently of the phone and can make API queries from Javascript
without using my phone's internet connection but instead directly connecting to,say, my company's wifi. Is this possible?
I know that without my smartphone active, the watch obviously won't have access to my smartphone notifications, but that is not what I am looking for in a watch anyway.
My ideas are going more in the direction of querying my own API for my server(via json) so I can keep an eye on its status. Does such a thing work with the smartphone being off, or is this something that works exclusively with the 3G version of the S2? I would love to get the 3G model, but it isn't being sold in my country.

Yes, it is possible. The watch connects to the WiFi by itself... You don't need the phone for that

Yes, using WIFI to connect other than the watch is doable, the problem that I had was the battery drain, it drained the battery in 3 hours when I have the WIFI set to on. so now I only use it Bluetooth to my phone, and with that, it lasts 2-3 days without a charge.
Hi,
When I take out my phone on standby and I use the wifi directly (games, mail), I notice that despite the wifi acronym the connection is not made.
It is often necessary to wait a few minutes or restart the application.
Do you have the same problem ?
Thank you
I've been plagued by this issue for 15 years. The title says it all, but here's the deal:
When my WiFi is on and manages to connect to a nearby WiFi hotspot that has no internet connection (or requires authentication), my Android phone loses all data connectivity, even though there is strong 4G signal. It's trying to connect to the Internet through the WiFi, which has no Internet connection. If I manually turn off WiFi, then the data connection is re-established over mobile data. Why doesn't it automatically switch to mobile data in this situation? Is there any way to force it to do so? My phone isn't rooted, but I do know how to root so I'd be happy to try anything.
In particular, this happens constantly when I'm driving in the city. The phone picks up all sorts of hotspots that require authentication, so essentially they are all dead ends. Manually turning off WiFi isn't a real option since I'm driving. I want the phone to automatically detect that the WiFi doesn't have a connection to the Internet, and switch to mobile data automatically.
I've read about 15+ threads on this, some of which go back 10 years, and none of them have a real solution to the problem.
IMPORTANT:
I am not looking to exclude specific WiFi connections/networks. It should work on any connection that has no internet connectivity.
I am not looking to set this up for specific apps. It should work for the entire phone's data connection.
I know that this is a huge problem for a lot of people, so there must be a solution. Please, I'd apprecaite your help.
Please answer only with solutions to the problem, not "why do you want to do that" or "that's impossible" answers.
