[Q] Lags withV30A ROM on LG P990 - General Questions and Answers

Hi all,
I need help with my ROM,I'm experiencing some lags and bugs. I have LG Optimus 2x P990,and couple of days ago I changed its original ROM and updated to ICS ROM V30A. Aldough the ROM is much better then the original version in some areas, I'm experiencing a lot of lags all the time, especially when playing games which was not the case with original ROM.
When installing software I downloaded this file BIN_LGP990AT-00-V30a-EUR-XXX-NOV-30-2012-0.zip and used Smartflash v0.8. I did have to change the order of files for bin and fls because it reported error at first.
Did I make a mistake while installing ROM, or are these kind of bugs normal for this ROM? And if it is can you recommend me some ROM that is runs smoothly?
My phone info:
Android: 4.0.4
Baseband: 1035.21_20121130
Kernel: 2.6.39.4
Thank you all very much! :cyclops:

Rooting help needed badly

hi,
phone details are
LG P920, Android 2.3.5
baseband L6260_MODEM_Sic_01.1042.00,
Kernel 2.6.35.7, build GRJ90,
SOFTWARE VERSION LGP920-V20c-APR-25-2012
I have tried rooting thru superoneclick 2.3.3 and tried Megatron_Root_Dan_Rosenberg
with superoneclick, stops at step#7 and with megatron, get the message ädb"is not a valid command.
can someone please help me with a step by step guide for rooting the v20c as i have tried umpteen times with the above rooting tools but failed miserably.
I am more of a noob than a seasoned campaigner, please be patient.
schubeir
Hi and welcome!
Dan's tool is working fine on P920 V20* firmwares.
You could also try this: http://www.handy-faq.de/forum/lg_op...ptimus_3d_p920_root_methoden.html#post1943187

Megatron Root
Hi,
Megatron root definitely works.
It took me many goes before it actually worked...It kept saying something about files being "corrupt" (it was a while back so cannot remember exact details).
The phone would reboot a few times, and end up being the same and unrooted.
What worked for me was i did a factory reset, and then ran Megatron root again. It may have had something to do with the number of apps i had on the phone. It then finally worked.
Hope that helps.
Hi Paki0402 and vicdo1000
Successfully rooted, I had to rely heavily on google translate for the german lingo
thanks again.
can you also help me with the best way to install a custom rom for V20C? which rom will be the best in terms of eye candy, fastest, smoothest ( may not be all in one rom)
help greatly appreciated !!! ppl like you make us noobs feel protected !
Subir
This is a bit late, but adb is android debugging bridge, and is required to transfer files to root locations without su privilages. Adb is part of the android sdk and in the package of platform tools. To use adb you have to install it and configure it, look on youtube, then from command prompt you can us it.

Hi Schubeir,
CM7 is always a winner in terms of a good stable ROM, but you will lose the goodies that make our phone unique (3D as well as HDMI). Very fast and smooth, and because the ROM includes Theme Chooser, there's a huge selection of themes to choose from that will change your entire Android interface.
I'm currently using Promethius v1.3. Fantastic ROM...fast/smooth and keeps most of the stock LG apps. Feels like stock software, only much much faster and everything works! however, this version i dont think will work with your current baseband. you wont get and service if you flashed it.
Ultimately, there are many good ROMs to find in the Development section, so just have fun trying them out. whats good for me might not be good for you.
by the way, do you have ghost calls on V20C?
Hi,
Did not wait long enough on V20C to know if there were ghost call issues!! the UI was behaving like stop n go n stop n go, lagging every now n then, hence wanted to root and change over to custom rom.
I need to have the 3D and HDMI, purchased this model only for this. I am at present using the DNA_GB 3.3.3 based on the new V21E rom. when i flashed the ThiaiZ O3D V2.7.1 GB.------ NO NETWORK!!!!!
Was it due to the 21D baseband in the ROM? do I then need to flash the 21e Baseband?
which do i flash first, the base band or the ROM?
Cant believe I am trying all this at the young age of 52!!!
Thanks lots for all your help.

OK Schubeir,
I had the exact same problem so no problems. Yes the baseband is what is causing the lack of network.
I know there is any easier way to flash baseband, but i found it quite easy flashing my phone back to a stock v21e kdz, and then flashing a custom ROM built using the v21e as a base. The reason for this is V21E is proven not to have ghost calls, so thats the biggest benefit. it also has much better battery life. And finally, you can flash Promethius which has all the stock goodies (3D, HDMI).
Follow this link and go to point 3 - LG Flash tool.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1491870
you must follow it step by step word for word or it wont work. Of course you will need to download the V21E kdz file...jut do a search and you should find it.
After flashing back to stock V21E, root again with Megatron, then flash ROM as you normally would. then flash GAPPS (google Apps) right away also.
Bit long winded, but its a one of and its well worth it getting your phone setup right. With Promethius, the phone runs awesome!
Cheers

[Q] Lg Su760 Phone Help needed about Kernel and Rom!

Hello Every body, I am new on this forum forgive me if I break any rule by creating this thread but I really need your help. So getting to the Point I have just bought Lg Optimus 3d SU-760.
I know I should not have bought this phone not a lot of support Etc. but I bought it real cheap so I think it's worth the trouble.
It is a Korean Device with a lot of Korean apps and dialer and keyboard. I don't need. Now let me tell you about it's installed software and every thing.
I just updated it with LG Official Update tool it's running
Android Version: 2.3.5
Baseband Version: L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1042.00
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7
Build Number: GRJ90
Software Version: LGSU760-V20f-Mar-22-2012
Now my biggest issue with this phone is it's battery timing. I have read all the threads I can find in this forum and have came up with this conclusion.
I should install this kernel by iBluemind BlueKernel v1.1.0+ here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1565432
And then this rom XBSA V20F SU760 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1664768
I already have installed Clockwork Recovery Mod and it's running fine. This is my first android phone I have used iPhone and Nokia phones before this one so I need your advice and suggestions any thing.
I believe I have explained my Phone and Situation clearly now coming to the actual Question Do I have any other choice other Than Bluekernel and XBSA rom. Can I install any other rom than this like The Promethius, ThiaiZO3D, CyanogenMod 7.2 or any other or should I just go with XBSA. Because users report lag in XBSA rom in it's thread.
Thank you, God Bless you all.
I think you can run prometheus 20f rom and use kernel with no "+". Give it a try..worst that should happen is no signal...

Okay thank you very much for the reply sir @Bdadd34 I'll try but it looks like it's only for P920. Lg Su760 is a three button phone are you sure it won't create any trouble like brick my phone or any thing
One more thing I wanted to ask is can I use Bluekernel as kernel and Promethius Project V1.4 as rom or should I use the Stock.zip file without the plus with this rom?
Hello Anyone please I really need your help please
Last time i tried a p920 rom in su760 it had problems. If you use su760 xbsall rom set cpu min 300
Sent from my LG-P920 using XDA
Thanks xbsall...I thought there was just +kernel and non + kernel phones..didn't know Korean model was incompatible..sorry for bad advice..
Sent from my LG-P920 using xda premium
Thank you very much sir, I am using this Rom for past week now @xbsall thank you again
So there isn't any other rom available right
I did get Promethius to work after installing the rom I installed Bluekernel and every thing started working, buttons and internal sd go mounted in the phone too. Network, Wifi three buttons every thing worked
Only I could not use USB mass storage option, whenever I use USB Mass storage my PC asks me that the memory card is not installed and I need to format.
If I press ye it shows memory card has only 10 Mb space..
If this issue can be resolved Promethis and Thaiz both can be used easily
you can try all existing p920 rom to out su760 as i did with mine, just use bluekernel for su760,everything works, card mounted properly and gsm, wifi, BT also works the only bug that i noticed is the camera is inverted, i hope somebody can fixed that problem.
Which version are you exactly talking about. Yes they work except camera as you say but usb Cable Mass Storage Option it does not mount in PC. External card mounts but internal does not
So can you please tell me what version are you using, I have tried Promethius and Thaiz and many others
Cyanogen does not work at if I install Bluekernel it stops on boot screen. And if I keep original kernel Neither Internal SD mounts nor the Buttons are fixed back button serves as Search
Hello, Can any body please tell me where this widget is stored in LG O3d SU760
com.android.internal.widget.DigitalKoreanClock
I can't find it, Or any other way to disable Seoul Clock from my lock screen.
Thank you

[Q] Baseband Problem India P920

Hi,
Can you please let me know the baseband version from settings==> about phone==>baseband version
and the Software version.
best thing is to flash the 21E baseband, root and then install custom roms based on the 21E baseband versions. also, the kernels version needs to be matching with the kernel version in the settings ==> about phone ==> Kernel version.
the kernel version may be with + at the end or without the + at the end.
lets see what went wrong!

hi,
lzzar has given you the link http://p92x.acidhazardrom.com/guides/lg_flash_tool.html.
just follow the steps without deviation. your present baseband is V10d. you can flash 21E without worries.
download the V21E from the link. this is the best baseband. after you flash this baseband, you will have to root your phone, and then install clockwork mod recovery. Once this is done, you can flash any 21e based roms. your kernel does not have + in the end. after you falsh the baseband, check the kernel version again. all the roms have built in kernels. in case you want to try other kernels, try kernels without the + in the end and you will be fine.
all the best and keep posting!!

Thanks schubeir, Flashing 21e did the trick. Now when I install custom Rom, I am getting the signal. Thanks for your help. The only strange thing that is happening is with Lewa Rom, I cant seem to open Google play store & cant snchronize. With CyanogenMod 7.2+ v1.7.0 P920 Rom, my phone is getting rebotting a lot. But do you recommend a stable rom that dont have these problems.
Thanks Raj

With any CM based ROMS you will have to flash GAPPS (GoogleApps, you can search the forums for "gapps") separately.
also, CM based ROMS will not have proper 3D (you can take pics, but cannot view) and HDMI. without 3D, there is no point in having the O3D!
you can try ThiaZ, Promethius, Acura3D and other roms based on 21E and various Kernels, overclocked and non overclocked, retaining the 3D and HDMI features.

Same here. I'm from the Philippines and my current version "baseband version : L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1042.00 and Software version : LGP920-V20b-JAN-10-2012" I can't find any suitable or same ROM on 3D optimus development thread that has the same base. Thanks.. Just got rooted my phone and stuck at the moment finding a ROM. or is it okay to use any of those ROM like on ThiaZ, etc? Thanks!

[LG-P920]v10d Looking for 3D ROM for best performance

Hello, I've an LG Optimus 3D and here are the information that i can provide:
Android Version: 2.2.2
Core version : 2.6.35.7
Build number: FRG83G
Software version: LGP920-V10d-OCT-27-2011
My phone isn't rooted yet, and it crashes at the least cpu effort, i don't like the rom also, can you help me install a rom that provides the best performace(without losing the 3D features)
i'm afraid to get a Jelly Bean or an ICS, i think it's too much for the phone (it's a snail compared to a Galaxy S2 that can support the JB easily)
Thank you for reading, i'm looking forward for any information you can provide(Rom, root, baseband(i don't even know it does), or any advice)
Thanks in advance
ICS runs just fine. This is a good little device

I'm confused, in the ICS roms they tell you to make sure you're on ICS v28 or v30 i'm on 2.2.2 in v10b
What does that mean?
That means if you do the tutorial as written you will install ICS v28B firmware. When you continue with installing the custom rom your firmware will be further upgraded.

I have had the same endless issues with my LG p920 but i find that SuperOneclick root for windows works brilliantly for backing up an existing rom but actually making your own custom roms is an option i would like to explore further so that i don't loose the 3d framework. Also get android studio and the 3d app plugin from LG Developers (on the LG website) to make better total 3d apps and even total 3d! I have explored this to develop a type of overlay app to make all off the phone 3d although it drains the battery like crazy! A ROM that offers purely lollipop on lg-p920 and supporting 3d framework is still nowhere to be found though! And a long-term developer's toolkit or stand-alone program such as a free auto-root app or windows program to allow novice developers to mod without complicated source codes and file designations. You know, just saying.
If anyone has a Stock coppie (preferably v10d) then can they plz share the link with us!!!!!
Any custom rom that offers to keep the 3d framework would also be appreciated!

best rom stable??

hi guys, i need to flash our p500 for the first time, the phone's rooted but i don't want flash 1000 times before find a good a stable rom for daily use, someone can tell me what's the best rom for p500 whit gps working and wifi? tnx and happy holidays!!
stock froyo, imagine your are using a retro-launcher.
Had same problem, now I have
http://forum.xda-developers.com/opt.../rom-cyanogenmod-11-0-lg-optimus-one-t2828536
I had problem with all 4.0.4 ROMs that you cannot see caller ID (name) -takes some time to see it. This problem is ok in older ROMs but in 4.x.x ROMs are very good features. In 4.4.4 I have not this problem, only in somes case if system is under big load.
