Download any volume control app from play store and then alter the system sounds....
The USSD command(flash message) sounds are due to system volumes. You can't alter it through settings or engineer mode. So please do that and PM me if it not helps you, but if it helps then see below....
Hit Thanks Instead of Saying It.........
Block USSD messages

Download this app from play and write "SMS" or "remaining" in the substring match, you will never get USSD messages with those words...IF you wanna see the blocked messages for knowing balance, to the app and see in the LASt 25 blocked messages log...Hope this helps

Well, then Try "Xposed framework"
Install the Xposed app, in download section You can see "USSD blocker" module,Use that module, that will work with 4.2.2 i reckon...

Google changed the API for USSD, thats y USSD blocker or the Xposed module doesnt work in 4.2.2.
I'm sick of airtel pop ups too
Only solution is:
*Temporary- reduce media volume to 0
*Somewhat permanent- Make the default notification as "Silent" in Audio settings and keep the desired notification in the desired apps, say Whatsapp, Messaging, etc
Hope this helps :good:

This is one of the two reasons why i came back to 4.2.1, the other one being "Cannot use 3G in both sims"
"QUIET BALANCE" app works well till 4.2.1 and not from 4.2.2 onwards.
Many users have reported that the Xposed module "Ussd blocker" works well till 4.4 kitkat, but it did not work for me in both 4.2.2 and 4.2.1.
For now, i'm happy with 4.2.1 Jellybean "MicroNexus" ROM and Ouiet balance app.
Airtel pushes atleast 200 ussd popups everyday.:silly:

Hi all,
I've been a member for a while, but this is my first post in a while.
I recently changed my Motorola Atrix to a Samsung Skyrocket. I love the phone, however I am having a little problem. The Skyrocket will not make noise or vibrate for notifications (such as text, or email, facebook, twitter, etc) but will play ringtone for phonecalls. When I restart the phone, it will work maybe for a day, but after that, it stops working again. Sometimes after receiving a call the notifications will start working again. I've checked the volume settings, and the notifications and ringtone settings, and everything like that... it's all normal. Any suggestions? I've been searching in the forums, and other sites as well, but dont seem to find anything.
The phone is rooted, but that's about it, stock rom. I also did a master reset on the phone as well.
I was using go sms but deleted it and the notifications still go silent.
Any help would be really appreciated!
Thanks!
Hopefully someone here can help ya. I still have not found a solution
Ome thing I never really thought of was trying an Odin restore back to stock...a full clean slate. If that doesn't fix it then definitely a defective phone

That's what I did this morning. So far it's working perfectly, hopefully it will keep working.
Thanks for the reply!
I installed Go SMS again and seems to be working. What I did notice this time around, is that when I was setting up the notifications for the Facebook app, I noticed the option to choose from the Android System ringtones or from Go SMS. Maybe I had it set up to choose ringtones from Go SMS. Seems to be working fine now.
The notification volume and incoming call volume are seperated. The notification sometimes changes somehow idk how. If you want the incoming and notification to be the same download MySettings. The open the app up and click and hold the ringer icon then itll come up with volume settings. Check the box that says use incoming and notification sound together

Hello,
My phone is on a montioring system that sends me a text when a system is having a problem. I need the alarm to be long and loud so I am positive to hear it even if sleeping. My problem is when I get one I want it to automatically stop making noise if I pick up my phone, sweep the screen saver or anything that indicates I'm going to look at the message.
How do I stop the text notification noise if I'm actually looking at my phone?
Thanks

Thanks -no app - just native text messaging notification. I changed the default sound for text messages to a long loud notifications so I respond to emergency texts. I just want to be able to quickly shut them off when I get them.

I don't know if this works for text messages but have you tried the 'turn over to mute' in motion settings? it works great for incoming phone calls.

Hey everyone,
I want to flash the camera LED (Not the notification LED) on incoming call , message , and SMS / MMS .
I have tried just about all the free apps on the market attempting to do so, with no / little luck. Some just don't work at all, and a few will flash on TEST mode but not actually work when ringing. [Edit: Some work great on SMS / text but NOT ringer ... wtf ???]
I found one or two that will flash AFTER the ringer stops, but not consistently and nothing works like it should. Also nothing will actually flash while the phone is ringing. I tried Flashlight Notifier but you have to pay for PRO to use the ringer option, which I am afraid to do since nothing else worked....
I am using ViperOne 3.2.1 on HTC One M8 -- I have also tried the VenomTweaks settings of notification flash and added people and phone but that doesn't work either.
A few apps that I tried have Accessibility on/off service, which I have enabled and still no luck.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks !

Well, just flashing on the original incoming call would be great.
In a perfect world mirroring the notification LED, at incoming call, on voicemail, sms and text all would be nice but all I really want is to flash while the phone is ringing....

Awesome, that would be cool...
I know zero about Android code, but in my head it's just something like:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Rintone_Activate call Flashing_Timer
On Ringtine_DeActivate (Halt Flashng_Timer | Camera_Flash_OFF )
Module Flashing_Timer (
:Loop
Camera_Flash ON | Wait 1,1
Camera_Flash OFF | Goto Loop
)

So... Quite a funny outcome here...
So unless you write an app including permission to access torch, if torch is turned on in anyway (outside of an app with permission) the screen turns off...
So what I did was wrote a nice little script to monitor when /sys/class/leds/green/blink so when it's set to 1 /sys/class/leds/flash_0/brightness is echo > 200 for 500ms (half a second) then echo 0 > /sys/class/leds/flash_0/brightness . However because of what I have found when that does happen the screen goes black for a second while torch is flashing.
Il keep working on it to see if I can get something a little more usable.
Still having an issue monitoring /green led

ok so this is what ive come up with for the time being, since i see no foreseeable way around the screen flash issue, and there for dont see a point in dedicating more time to this.
download tasker.
create a new profile.
select event
select file
select file modified
type
Code:
/sys/class/leds/green/blink
then back out and create a task.
label it what ever you'd like
press the + and select code
select Run Shell
in the command field type
Code:
echo 200 > /sys/class/leds/flash_0/brightness
the check the box next to Use Root
back out and click the play icon bottom left, this will prompt you to allow su access.
all done, now in the phone settings under sounds and notification select what app light notifications you want to use, and whenever the green light changes from on or off status the torch will flash once.

Do any other notifications ring well? Does your phone speaker function well?
If yes, please check the Bluetooth settings or any other settings that connect your phone to a Bluetooth headset, car kit, earphone, smartwatch or any kind of speakers. Make sure your phone is not connected to any of these.
