S/W Upgrade Stuck AFTER Fail LG UPDATE

OK i went to the thread started by raar but found no help there. Heres wat happened.
-Tried LG Update Software stopped at 4% then tried restarting it didnt work.
I can access my recovery i tried the Nandroid Stock restore it did the restore but phone wont boot still it goes straight to S/W Upgrade. Can any1 help with this again i can access recovery and use it but even after restoring stock rom from nandroid it wont boot it???

Did you go back to stock recovery? Or did you try flashing this while running CWM?

I tried using the LG Updater and i have the clockwork recovery i can access it jus no boot on the roms but straight to S/W Upgrade Screen

Seems like a lot of people are having this problem. I provide Android Flashing services for people in my area and I've gotten a few calls today about people who tried to use the LG Updater util and it failed at 4% and bricked their phone.
LG you fail big time. It's quite a process to get these phones working again.

it's not bricked....ugh. try using kdx on a 32 bit machine. worked for me first time after struggling with win 7 x64.
mods....please close this thread and move.
or someone can make this into a recovery stickie. i'm off to bed otherwise i'd write a guide right now. i recovered after an hour and a half of struggling with this on win 7 x64.

restore stock 2.2 using cwm recovery, Flash stock recovery using nvflash, then try booting to 2.2 and trying the updater again.

As many have stated, pushing the v21E_00.kdz via the KDZ_FW_UPD program does work. It's just touchy.
This is a step by step guide to get you back in to working shape.
Note: You MUST do this via a PC running Windows XP. Running Vista/7 in compatibility mode is not going to work, period.
Part 1: Download the files you will need below.
V21E_00.kdz
KDZ_FW_UPD_EN
One-Click-G2x-recovery-flasher-06-16.rar
LG USB Drivers G2x
Part 2:
1) Install the LG G2x USB drivers to your WinXP machine.
2) Extract the entire contents of the One-Click recovery in to a folder and keep it handy.
3) Remove the battery from the phone. Hold both volume buttons and plug in the USB cable. If you are asked for a driver, look in the APX folder where you extracted the One-Click recovery archive.
4) Run OneClickRecoveryFlasher.exe and flash the stock recovery. Wait for the process to finish and close all windows and unplug the phone.
5) Put the battery back into the phone and turn it on. Now plug the USB cable back in to the phone. If everything is up to snuff you should have no driver problems at this point.
6) Extract KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.7z in to a folder. Inside is a msxml.msi. You need to run and install this first!
7) Run KDZ_FW_UPD.exe.. Leave the type set to CDMA and the phone mode set to DIAG. DO NOT CLICK ON "Read phone information"
8) Click the folder icon and load the V21E_00.kdz
9) Click launch software update (and pray!)
What you will see:
The log window will immediatly show:
22:41:02 : Launching SW update
22:41:02 : Unpacking KDZ
Then it will stop for a while.
After this you will most likely see:
22:41:16 : KDZ file extraced
22:41:21 : Files were extracted.
22:41:21 : LGMobileDL Load.
22:41:21 : Port = 5
22:41:21 : Connecting to phone
22:41:33 : Check Phone mode = 1
It will pause again before you see:
22:42:08 : Phone type check.......

It should look like:

22:46:25 : CDMA: wParam = 2001, lParam = 0
22:46:25 : Model Dll Msg Not Found(2001, 0)
After it gets to 100, your phone will reboot to the LG logo before going
blank. After a few moments of the blank screen you will get the TMO G2x splash before being dropped back in to your working phone.
Be patient as this takes a while. If at any point the program freezes for more than a few moments, it's most likely going to fail and you will need to try again.

I can confirm this does work. I am one person who has experienced every problem each person has expressed when attempting the update. I got that crazy status 2010-3015 error, couldn't find phone error, no communication error.
The trick is using mode XP if u have windows 7. I disabled the LG modem driver in windows 7 so Mode XP wouldn't have to fight with win 7 when the phone would USB connect/disconnect.
The above method works but it is VERY touchy as mentioned. I almost ended up sending my phone to LG but I kept with it ...reflashing stock recovery via nvflash in mode xp and letting the LG mobile tool download drivers and installing them is what caused my app to no longer freeze when connecting my phone.
I spent about 8 hours trying to fix my phone. Its possible but u must be patient and persistent. As long as your comp can recognize your phone when u plug it in, i promise u can debrick it. Ill post my steps when I get to work.

okay here is the trick***
i was getting that error 3012 over and over again... and i saw ergibson83's post about disabling drivers for the lg on windows 7... what i did was this.
when you are running kdz using xp mode on windows 7 ultimate and it begins the IParam count to 100, keep your eye on the usb connectivity. Up top of the screen of XP Mode, you will see the usb tab. when you hear windows 7 trying to grab the device, go up top and reattach the LG Modem and it will continue the count.
Around 50, it did it again.. so i clicked reattach for the second time. Then it reached 100 and i was golden!
now i have beautiful gb running flawless
Hope this works for those running XP Mode.

After a week with the same problem and intensive google search, did this:
Booted into XP downloaded "mcci r firmware update driver for mtk.exe" installed the same (does not install in Win7 environment). started the KDZ_FW_UPD_EN tool and using the update start in the main window managed to update successfully to Gingerbread, now I need to get out of T-mobile's clutches and get cyanogenmod..Any suggestions. Hope my workaround helps.
Before this success I tried everything possible including a visit to a LG Service centre in Chennai who did try sincerely to help but could not. The past week was really frustrating which I do not want to list here but my request is don't give up.
I subsequently checked with LG Service centre telling them I succeeded and described the way I did it. They said they also have XP with the firmware updated and tried it out of 2 different PC's but could not manage the update. Then I tried recollecting what I did try differently and I could see this may be the trick that enabled it to succeed. Before I tried the firmware update. I tried the tool clicked on Phone information in the main indow (both in Win 7 and XP) and then clicked on update start at the bottom of the subsequent window. The tool did collect information and went all the way extracting files rechecking EMEI upto MTK start when the tool kept crashing and failed to update.It is only after this failure did I try the firmware update and running the tool when it succeeded.
Thank my stars I did not format my XP partition which I wanted to last month but did not find the time. If only one person is benefited by this post I would be most glad

KDZ upgrade error

I'm trying to flash my phone with KDZ but it hangs half way through and eventually pops up a box with "upgrade error WParam: 100 LParam: 500.
Phone is "bricked" but I can get it into emergency mode, If I try to start the phone it just freezes on the LG screen.
Anyone know why i'm getting this error and how I can fix it? It's driving me crazy.

Try again...dnt forget to disable lg modem before going further..and also dnt exit from the emergency screen..and dnt do any thing to your nv2 backup

then plug it back and turn on again

if not use kdz update again

Thanks guys but it still wont work, it gets probably half way through and gets stuck on: Smart : wParam = 8, IParam = 0....it then seems to restart the phone and the lights on the home, back and search button flash 3 times and the phone gets stuck on the LG logo.
I've been trying to flash it all day with no luck so please help.

I still can't flash this with KDZ, would it be possible to flash it with ADB?
My computer can only detect the phone in emergency mode.

just go through the detials of downgrading ur phone and follow instruction carefully get into emergency mode and flash ur desired stock rom.

Your phone is soft bricked. If you enter in emergency mode don't remove the battery at any cost or else you'll have a perfect, costliest brick in the world! If not try taking it LG service center ( if your phone is not under warranty, they won't charge much for a software issue, In India its around 150INR, 3$ approx)

I try to upgrade from lg software while upgrade almost 45℅ after my phone was automatically disconnected from the PC , mesg shows removed cable n battery try to reconnect the phone to PC I did same thing upgrade ing start but no phone shows with PC , even no starting phone also in emergency mode or recovery mode nothing , my phone was totally dead or brick I don't know please help someone what I do ?????

Problem in Updating GW620 2.2 Froyo to Gingerbread

Hello sir , I have a LG GW620 with following details:-
Android version : 2.2
Kernel Version :2.6.32.9
Build Number :Froyo.v20d
Software Version:GW620-V20D
I want to update my GW620 to Gingerbread but first and most problem is
that I am unable to boot my mobile in fastboot mode while a have tried
” Menu + Space / Down Vol Key + Space + Camera Key /Middle Button +
Camera Key ”etc but I am failed . Please suggest me with all possible
steps .GW620 comes with 1.5 and I upgraded it to 2.2 Froyo using KDZ
Updater .
Please Help Me.
I think that we have not a rom with fastboot .After that I was trying

and phone is restarting automatically on that stage.
I have also checked it with LG-Utils-kp500_ks360 provided in
cyanogenroms Tools section but the same error also occuring in 4%
of total task.
Please suggest me some option that by which ways we can upgrade my
GW620 to Gingerbread.

[Q] Stuck at SW Updating - tried everything please help

Okay I have been trying to update my phone from Froyo 2.2.2 on my LG999 with WIND Mobile. I have been stuck here for about 24 hours and I've tried just about everything I can find on this forum to fix it. I've read about 40 pages on people with this problem and been trying to do this for over 12 hours. I've tried using the KDZ tool, the LG update tool with the HTTP server and HOSTS redirect - everything. I've tried using multiple different KDZ files such as V20M, V20Q and V21E and they all get stuck at the same part, I will post the logs below. I'm attempting to do this on VMWare running Windows XP SP3 with no luck. I've also attempting all of the aforementioned programs about 30-50 times and it always gets stuck at the same part and have even left it multiple times there for an hour or two, even over night once and it never moved. PLEASE does anyone have any extra insight that would help me? Otherwise I'm going to WIND today and going to attempt to warrenty the phone. It is stock, not rooted, if it matters.

Then it just stops there, no matter how long I leave it to sit for.

Check the rom for recovery thread in dev section. It will low level nvflash 2.3.3 gb rom onto your device.

Yep nvflash is your answer and there is tonnes of literature on it in these forums good luck

When the phone is updating, it usually loses the USB connection during the process. Did you check that? If it did, reconnect the connection, that may enable the process to complete.

Took the phone into WIND and got a replacement, hassle free. Installed ClockworkMod and CyanogenMod 7.1 and did it the proper way. Screw that KDZ crap lol. This way was soooo much easier and reliable. Thanks for the help guys, got too frustrated lmao.

LG p700 L7 stuck in emergency mode brick ?

I have the same problem. At the time of cwm installing, my phone rebooted on emergency mode yellow screen and cant open anymore. I use vol+ + power and the computer recognize my phone. I diasbled LGE modem and try to install v10A, V10C, v10g and v10h firmware every time it cant finish correctly and say

I used a lot of buttun combinations to go cwm but it always stuck in yellow screen emergency mode. I need your helps however I will be carzy, I have a big headache
