Does anyone know how to root the Blu Studio 5.3 II? I've so far tried all the 'Superoneclick' Ways and the Z4root way and basically all the ways I though possible. Its running on Android Jellybean 4.1.2 .
This is the second version of blu studio,
so yeah.. help...please.

Hello to all brothers BLU
1 - You've managed to make ROOT on their devices?
2 - Has anyone got a CWM for BLU Studio 5.3 II?
If you do not get this: Has anyone in this forum who has good experience with spft?
I try to create a CWM for him, but before testing is good to have a backup of the ROM.
Please try to perform a backup of your ROM before everything!
See here: [WIN] [MT65xx] MTK Root Droid & Tools | MediaTek Android Smartphone
I only know this video made by a brazilian and not researched other with another language. View and search for something with MTK Droid to perform the backup.

I was dismayed because the Android X development stopped and left that last buggy MIUI Rom that Wizard made then I bought the Blu Studio 5.3 II thinking it was a great deal and basically the same as the Samsung Note.
Now, the screen goes dim every two seconds no matter what setting I put, the audio profile changes whenever it feels like, the music changes songs during play, It keeps re adding contacts after I delete them, Turns on in my pocket and I'm getting REAL sick of Android based devices. Why should I get 3rd party software to compensate for these defects in Jelly Been 4.2.1.
Please tell me someone has rooted this phone already. I really need to go back to MIUI, it was a fantastic rom in my opinion.
I get the screen dimming but none if the other stuff you mentioned. However I am still waiting on remarks that someone has rooted it but still waiting.

Well I read that they use a Stock Rom so I can only assume that it's completely generic and void of changes like Verizon does.
I suspect that's why we have a dimming issue.
I finally got an email back from them and they said that they currently don't support the Studio 5.3 II. This blew me away because it's one of their newest phones and they are the one's who sell it. Try putting that in the advertisement and see how many people buy it.
One of you Geniuses out there must be able to put a stock version of an update or something on here. I'm not that bright.
I know how to flash a rom with linux loaded on my PC but have no idea where to get a stock rom,
Maybe I can make a backup of my personal rom, add superuser? Then flash it back? See, lots of question marks here.
Also, what's with the Captcha? You DO have my email address and it's not some random open posting.
I hate Captcha and it deters me from participating. I'm already getting turned off by my second posting.
And no, it's not a necessary evil.... And who needs a Title just for a reply.
Still Captcha...
I refuse to play anymore but one last thing.
I came across this website that looks completely legit
(w w w) oneclickroot(DOT)com / phone / blu-studio-ii-5-3 /
The Oneclick root looks similar to legit site however you have to install it then low and behold it has a hidden logger.exe
the name is either pjlogger.exe or installlogger.exe
II couldn't kill it with any program so I made sure it didn't make an entry in my startup and then I reset my PC which seemed to do the trick.
So there is my two cents for the community which seems to ignore Blu products as well as MIUI looks dead and they still use Captcha even though I have an account so you guys can kiss my rear
Not worth sticking around a dead scene
So even though I am trying to prevent you people from getting hijacked by showing you the link this idiotic forum won't let me post the link!
You people can really kiss my ass.
Hi guys!
Can anybody make the phone's specification with specdevice.apk from specdevice.com?
Thanks, dfgigger
root blu studio 5.3ii
i found a way to root the blue studio 5.3ii. its not my work at all but after months of searching here it is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2398214 after running you'll have to install su out of market but phone will be rooted. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2398214
Holy Crap it worked!
Here's the scoop that did it for me.
Install UniversalAdbDriverSetup6.msi. Just google it and get it without hassle from the goo. Beware of others.
Download and run Impactor 0.9.12 also in the goo.
Make sure USB Debuging is on in the developer tools and I had to have USB Storage activated.
So, just press Start and install SU.
I had Superuser.apk on my simcard and installed with file manager which I found easier than using the play store.
Everything works now.
Root Explorer, renaming, Titanium Backup...Droid Wall...
I am literally blown away that all this frustration over months and it's a simple 2 second fix that seems like it was kept secret when tons of people knew about it.
From what I am hearing this will root anything at least in the 4.1.2 Jellybean setup.
I'm about to get some tablets from China and those people don't care and they come pre-rooted with SU already there on 4.2
Here in the states is control, control, control.

So how is the philly.com tablet anyway???
considering it was only $99.00 and it has an micro sd slot plus a USB port for flash drives. the one draw back is the fact we cant access the Market, but that will soon change by the end of the month when they release root and custom firmwares. i guess it really depends on what you want to use the tablet for. it plays games just fine. the hd movies i have watched on it plays with no skips. i was pleasantly surprised when i got it.
Sean,
Definitely interested in the root/firmware. The Amazon market is nice but missing a lot of great apps.
You can just pull apks from an android phone or download online and install on the tablet, but just make sure they dont ask for google permissions.

So, I got my 10 G2 a few days ago, bought it for €150 ($200) and I gotta say that I am very impressed. The device itself is sturdy and well build, the screen is excellent and responses well to touch (as far as android goes). The design is nice and the specs are impressive. I must say that the firmware could do with some upgrading though, and I can´t wait for a custom firmware. The Appslib is not all that good and the lack of Android Market is prominent. Word around the block is that Ice Cream Sandwich will run on most older devices, so it will be interesting to see if this turns out to be true and how it will flow on the 10 G2. At the moment I am trying to root the OS and hope this will improve things until a custom firmware arrives. I can sincerely recommend this tablet though, especially for the retail price. I suspect that the 10 G2 will become a hit and that will hopefully lead to a lot of support and custom tweaks. If you are thinking about buying one, do it.

I saw the post on the release of this on the Arctablet blog, but can't find the market which the post says is available. We have a custom app that needs to be installed through the market to work.
Has anyone seen the rom?
It seems that the creators of the custom rom have some delay.
I read somewhere that the rom will be ready somewhere this month.
A few years ago I got a MIO P550 pda; there was someone who created a custom rom for it to enable windows mobile 6.1 on this device.
The creator of that ROM posted somewhere that it was coming very soon.
I waited over a year until it was ready. (And still it was not 100% complete).
I hope that the creators of the custom rom for the Arnova 10 G2 will work faster than the creator of the rom for my Mio device.
I would like to thank people that spend their time for creating custom roms for our devices. It seems that it's not always easy to do.
And they surely deserve respect for it.
We can only wait and have patience.
I'm looking everyday on the net to see if I can find a link to it, so when it's ready and the link isn't posted here yet (because a lot of others are searching to, I guess) I will post it here.
Arnoa 10 g2
I too bought an Arnova 10g2 and although so farI am pleased with this sub £200 tablet I am too desperately trying to find a root and/or custom firmware.
In the mean time I will have to perserver with trying to add google apps.
I thought I should be able to connect this in debugging mode plug it into my pc and us superoneclick to root but so far my pc fails to identify its driver!
I have installed the google developer usb drivers but no joy and I haven't found out what he button configuration is for the boot menu like my galaxy s, do i assume that I need a specific Arnova driver or am I missing something?
It seems that the root has been delayed again. It appears the devs have other more important tablets to root before our arnova g2 10. I guess we are gonna have to take it upon ourselves to Leeann how to root. If anyone is interested in learning our trying just PM me and we can figure it out.

Yes, we now have a working custom firmware to add Android Market support and root to the Arnova 10 G2, it should be released in the coming weeks.
This was posted a month ago......so don't get it.....if the firmware is working, why don't post it
Let there be ROOT!!!!
The reason for this thread was to maybe get one of our wonderful devs here at xda to maybe help us arnova g2 owners out. I am looking into how to root as we speak. I will work hard on trying to get us a root and custom firmware ASAP. To answer your question about why the devs won't release what they have already is. I believe its not fully running. Its their project and they can do whatever they choose with it. I always believed in sharing and letting the community help out with bugs and such, but that's just me. I hope to have something close to root or even full root ASAP.

anybody? trying to root this device.
I just bought the tab 2 7.0. It's pretty nice. I requested that we get a section for it here at xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1617079
Does anyone know which Mod I can contact about this?
+1 for new forum... so Far loving this thing
Just got mine today, wouldn't you know it, first thing I do is look here for root even though it was just released two days ago.
Please add my vote for a new section.
I am in line too
I am in the same boat. I have tried every root process out there available for dual core Samsung devices and came up with nothing. Two things I would love to have for this device 1. Root(so I can restore my game data from my bigger tab) 2. A Bone stock ICS ROM.....I guess I should say a recovery as well so I can load a stock ICS ROM onto there.
Mine is on it's way from J&R and it's going to eventually be torn apart and put in my dash of my Nissan Altima to replace my headunit... but I def. want to root it before then, hope it can get it's own section and some dev's can root and ROM it!
i'm liking this tab, except of course lack of root yet (want to restore app data from TiBu!), but of course it's super early to expect it. i also don't like that tablet-mode statusbar/softkeys can't be hidden, so when I play fullscreen videos the buttons are always there. other than that, i am a happy camper.
agree, the notification bar always there takes some getting used to.
this needs root badly. apps2sd would be huge, among other things.
*sigh*
I am wondering how the root works an I am positive there are plenty of threads explaining this, my quesiotn is would the root be an exploit for ICS? or it is specific to Samsung?

It could go either way really. Some of the things in stock ICS are still there on Samsung's custom build of it. An exploit for either of the two is worth trying. The real problem is, how many Samsung ICS devices are there? Anyone look into trying whatever worked on the Galaxy Nexus for the Tab 2?

Sorry for the double post, but this is a method of root that could be an Android wide thing and not rely on a specific exploit. I know they use this for things like the Transformer Prime as well as the Acer A200, so I figured anyone with some development knowledge could take a look at it as I am clueless on that front.
Forgot to include the link, duh.

I tried a few things from the Acer side as well and came up with nothing. The only official ICS devices for Sammy are Galaxy nexus, and one of the galaxy S II variants. Most times they are rooted through Odin first. This device needs some pub so we can grab a dev or two's attention.

I was thinking of using odin to flash the CWM for a plus 7.0. The possibility of bricking my device and not having backup to flash is holding me back though.
Once we have CWM rooting it should be as easy as flashing a zip file with SU included. Right? I'm in no way a dev, just a guy who thinks he knows what is going on.

There is a system dump of our device floating around here, but using odin is the way to go and using another devices odin method setup as a template is probably our best bet.
If we can install CWM, which would have to be built, then we could theoretically flash a superuser.zip, but I think the superuser.zip is a little more complicated than installing just the superuser.apk. I am pretty sure it also includes busy box and binaries, but I am also not a developer so I am just giving it my best educated guess.
I just got mine a few days ago and I will try to odin if you can find a compatible file. I will most certainly lie to microcenter about it being a brick to get a new one.....Just like I did with sprint. I told them it said something about an update and when I clicked it I lost power when I powered it back on it kept looping. So lets get craking on this
As you guy probably know though, you'll want to be very careful with odin. If something goes wrong or it is flashed the wrong way, you will totally screw your device up.
So we just got the coolpad 5860E at my metro store. This thing... wow. And not in a good way. It is a larger version of the Wildfire (shudder). 1ghz processor, 512 mb of RAM... it just PALES in comparison to the Motion we got in last week.
Problem is... It will sell better because of the bigger screen.
So, seeing as how we will be offering rooting/flashing and such... Is there any development for this phone (or the LG for that matter)?
I am attaching Quadrant scores for the Coolpad...

1. open the link above and look for "http:删除我//pan.baidu......"
2. copy paste it to ur browser (remove the chinese character ofcos)
3. download the 5860+第三方recovery.rar by clicking the '下载' button
4. extract after download
5. put ur phone into flash/download mode by, turn ur phone off, connect it to the pc while holding the vol- button.
6. after that open the file ~/客服_7kDownloader/客服_7kDownloader.exe
7. chose the right com port that is ur phone, on the topleft of the aplication
8. and press ’开始‘ at the bottom right, wait till it finish flashing.
sometimes it got stuck, and the solution is to check ur device manager for unknown device
and install the driver (the adb driver i think) and after that it should continue, or repeat the flashing process if not.

the process is the same for flashing other roms thats on that board that i posted.

it should take a couple of days to do this, but i cant test it as i got a slightly a different hardware.

may be any one could try asking coolpad.us for flashing tool, for rom dump.
I did exactly that. Also asked them for a link to the source code for the current android build as it should be released under GPL. You can boot into recovery on these things by holding both Vol Up and Vol Down and powering on. Once you see the droid, press the soft HOME key to bring up the menu. I can't do much with it yet. Haven't gotten fastboot to work. If you hold just Vol UP and power it it takes you to a black screen with white text that says "=======Enter VIA USB======". I thought this was saying "enter via USB" but after doing a
Code:
system_profiler SPUSBDataType
I noticed a device entry with a Manufacture of VIA Telcom. Still this mode does nothing for me. No luck yet, but still digging.

Hey guys, My friend got a coolpad quattro. I used to own a couple evo shift 4g's and it seems to look like through the android system recovery menu that you would need to downgrade to a different android system by tricking the android system into thinking it was an update via the apply update from sdcard. I am not that tech savvy with development or "jail breaking" android bootloaders but I think it might have to start with the partitioning of the blocks first to find where it is placed in the nand chip. I hope that someone can take what I have offered up as advice and try to make some progress with this.
any progress ? root...unlock...

Try FARMAROOT.apk
Framaroot.apk is confirmed. In fact, it is the only way I have found to root this particular device as adb only works when the phone is plugged in in the off position. I would love to get a custom recovery and a CM10.1 port, I would be in heaven as this phone is SUPERB. Blu may not yet be a household name, it could be shortly. With their price point every Dev needs one.

I just got my Blu Studio 5.3 s and it does seem very nice so far with the limited testing I've done on it.
I tried to root it via Framaroot.apk and have not had any luck.
The Aragorn exploit always says failed. The Gandalf exploit always just crashes everytime.
Maybe they have patched the kernel since it worked for you? My kernel version is: [email protected]))$1 SMP PREEMPT Mon May 6 14:16:14 CST 203.
I have searched and searched for another method but can't fine anything for the "S" series, just the 5.3 or 5.3 II.
Any ideas of another method that might work? Appreciate any help in advance, thanks.
Ok, I have successfully booted ROMS from the K-Touch u86, the K-Touch Skittles s5 (u90), and the Karbonn s1 titanium. I do not have a functioning camera, wifi is spotty, and the colors go negative after I lock it.... but other than that, there is plenty of room for development on this device. Because of the fastboot mode, it is virtually unbrickable, thank God.
If anyone wants links, guides, or advice, just ask. Here or PM is fine. You will need Chrome to translate the forums, but there are very very many devices with almost the exact same specifications.
Blu Studio 5.3s baseband
Good night.
I wonder if it is possible to change the baseband to be able to use 3G at 2100 MHz?
I bought the unit in version D590a and therefore can not use the 3G network.
Thank you.
Getting this phone in the next few days. Any fully functional roms floating around that anyone might know of?
Any cyanogenmod release yet?
Hey guys first post here and wanted to share some input.
The farmaroot did root the device so good on that part. Question is.. has anybody got Cyanogenmod successfully working on the device yet. I know it has been a few months now so just wanted to see if there was any progress.
The phone is working good except for sometimes I have to turn airplane mode on and back off to get calls to come through. It is maybe once a week I have to do this which is annoying. Tried a full reset but still it does this every once in a while.
Check out this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2235153
All these should work. Root method, recovery, and roms. They work for the Blu Studio 5.0s but the 5.3s has all the same hardware and should work no problem. I haven't had a chance to try it yet. haven't had time. If anyone tries it and has success please post in this thread and in the linked thread to let the community know that it works.
I can now confirm that the ClockworkMod recovery method in the post above works for the Blu Studio 5.3s. I was able to flash clockworkmod recovery, boot into recovery and reboot device no problem. I have successfully rooted my device using Framaroot apk and the Gandalf setting.
I am asking the OP to add Blu Studio 5.3s to the title of the thread so that it can be found by those of us with the device who are looking for development.
I will be back to confirm that the custom roms linked in the thread are working also.
did anyone try the roms?

I still haven't tried any of them yet. I'm pretty satisfied with the stock rom. I'm a big fan of slim bean and I like my roms stripped down. I might give the nemesis rom a go just to report the results on here. When I do you can be sure you'll hear about it on this thread and the main discussion thread for the device.
custom rom MUI is working
Just wanted to give a heads up that the CWM and custom rom MUI is working on my Studio 5.3s
Now we just need a CyanogenMod ported over!

I can confirm that Framaroot (Galdalf exploit) works for Blu Studio 5.0 S (whch means it should also work for the 5.3 S version). Please note that specifically Framaroot 1.5.3 is the one you need. I tested the 1.6x versions, and NONE worked. I just kept going backwards until I found the version that worked. Hope this helps someone.

Sorry bro, I left that phone behind a long time ago. i have joined the evil empire of samsung now lol
I was considering picking one of these tabs up. The specs seem better than my sm-t210, it's even running KK 4.4. and the price is pretty good too. I can't really find any info on it, like how to root it, but any help would be appreciated. I have to have root on all my devices. I saw another thread on here about rooting a similar Envizen tablet, I wonder if that would work on this device too.
Again, any help or feedback would be appreciated.

I was finally able to get this tablet rooted. I Used a Chinese root App. called VROOT V1.7.9.2. This was the only version of this App. that I got to work with this tablet. The newer version did not root. I did try many other common one-click Apk's & and pc programs but no ROOT. I have successfully rooted 5 of these tablets with this version of VROOT.
P.S. did AnTuTu Benchmark and it scored 20043

I'd like a link to it too if you don't mind, and maybe instructions too. I guess that score from AnTuTu Benchmark was pretty good?
Or even if you would consider selling one already rooted, that would work too. Where are you located?

I received my unit 3 days ago and this worked for me I am rooted without issue vroot installs some crap that is hard to get rid of I used titanium back up to uninstall.
Also I can't get titanium backup to do a back up it say insufficient space the unit uses sdcard1 for the operating system and usb storage for the install partition so my sdcard is called sdcard0 this could be the issue. I tried sdcard fix but still not working.
