[Q] GTab 2 7 Options Menu greyed out - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have just bought a p3110 and I cannot enable the Developer options menu.
All are greyed out so I cannot tick USB Deugging, for instance.
I have tried all the hints from the net of going to About Device and
tapping Model number many times (up to 75) to no effect
tapping Build number many times (up to 75) to no effect
tapping Android version many times (up to 50) when a JellyBean screen appears
But still unable to become a developer.
I have rooted the device (as far as I know) since SU, root explorer are installed and work, using Odin etc
Any ideas - I've reset, rebooted, cleared the caches etc
Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Model number GT-P3110
7 inch wifi international
Android version 4.1.1
Kernel version 3.0.31-523998
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT Thu Nov 22 22:01:24
KST 2012
Build number JRO03C.P3110XXCLK7

As i say: do you see the button right above? Tick it.
This Tapping on build number came with 4.2.2

Thanks - I didn't see that sliding button on the top right at first

Rooting mt6577 GT-N9300+ Galaxy S3 clone

I'm posting this here since im not allowed to post in this thread (dont have 10 posts): Root MANY ANDROID! [Upd: 13.10.2012]
I have succesfully rooted my mt6577 GT-N9300+ Galaxy S3 smartphone clone by following the steps (at your own risk):
connect phone to pc by USB cable
install correct driver until it is shown in Device manager as a "Android Phone" - "Android Composite ADB interface". The driver can be easily found on the web if you search for "usb_driver_MT65xx_Android_.rar". If you don't know how to install a driver stop this procedure and learn windows.
Go to "settings" in your smart phone
go to 'SYSTEM' , 'developer options' and enable 'USB debugging'
go to 'PERSONAL', 'Security' and enable 'Unknown sources'
Follow instructions in Bin4ry's first post (here ) and start his procedure (runme.bat)
Choose number 1) 'normal mode' in this procedure
Your smart phone pops up backup/restore --> choose 'restore'
Let your smart phone restart
Your phone is rooted thanks to Bin4ry:good::good:

It's not rooted but I'm concerned if I root it then following the above ( Bin4ry's ) it will restore phone so the IMEI will have changed etc and the phone will go back to stock or something. Can you let me know if after rooting and restoring the phone was as it was before but with root.
Thanks

I have followed these instructions and have been able to root my phone without any problems. I have the MT6577 GT-I93000 which is also known as n9300+ Galaxy S3 clone. My only wish is that some develpoer can let us know if there will be any new ROM's made for this type of phone.

Thanks for the confirmation. But did your phone remain in the exact state after rooting, as it was prior to rooting. It mentions restore and I dread that it will restore the phone but I don't want it to do that.
Thanks for any more info

Hi Lee,
I installed some apps and changed settings before rooting. After rooting nothing was changed. As far as i know it was not restored to stock. I think the backup/restore procedure is required to install the Superuser app correctly (correct me if I am wrong).
Sorted - just took a little courage to believe it would remain as it was but with root.
Superuser app installed and browsed root with root explorer.
Thanks

Unable to root
I tried the same steps. I get the option to Restore data.. I click that and then the phone reboots.. everything completes and the command prompts asks to close the window by pressing any key..
However, SuperUser is not installed and the phone is not rooted.. What could be the problem here? I got this phone called Phecda i9300 from Amazon.. In About Phone, it shows as Alps GT-9300.. Any help would be appreciated..

I have a S3 clone too (Triton) with Android 4.1.1 on it.
I want to root it as well, because I want to be able to install Titanium Backup to restore data from an old phone
(only data, no apps).
Did someone successfully root his phone with these settings ?
I've Feiteng GT-i93000 MTK6577 bought few days ago. As I wrote some posts up, I've this version:

it's Android 4.1.1 .
I've tried :
- Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18.7
- MTKdroidTools_v230 (created scatter file; temp root procedure start, but no restore button appears on the phone and it automatically reboots one time with no succes; backup button stays disabled!)
- manual root via adb, can't mount system (it says no mount available)
- SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1224.01.7 : loaded my scatter file and recovery.img CWM patched from Bruno .. but when I load scatter file I can see only 00 memory address only and no other address!
- Unlock root - no root
Someone can share other ideas for JB on this phone ??

[Q] Can't root, none of the methods worked.(4.0.4 ICS Tab)

Hello,
First of all I'd like to share you my device information:
Modell: M-Tech aTab 9.7 IPS
Android: 4.0.4
Kernel: 3.0.8+
SMP PREEMPT Wed Aug 29 00:54:17 CST 2012
Build: rk30_ics_v2.23.00
IMM76D.20120829.005419
That would be all about my Tab.
I recently bought it and I wanted to root it but none of the methods worked for me (Bin4ry's, SuperOneClick, and I can't even reboot inty recovery)
About adb shell.. Permissions are denied for "Reboot recovery" and I can't find any help for my device.
Please help. I'm kind of noob when it's time to do something with a device that is not known for many.
I've been researching and trying out different ways for 2 days now and nothing.
Thanks in advance. Coolby

Tab 7.7 Restars every 5 minutes. Deleted data reappears after restart.

Dear All,
I am using Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 (GT-P6800) with the below Items :
Android Version : 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean)
Baseband Version : P6800DXMD3
Kerner Version : 3.0.31 - 1157844
[email protected] - 133 #3
SMP PREEMPT MON APR 22 22:19:00 KST 2013
Build Number : JZO54K.P6800DXMD3
EMMC Type : MAG2GA
CID : 1501004d4147324741076f07993b5f91
Revision : 0X7
The EMMC data has been extracted from gotbrickbug app.
Also I was using Framaroot 1.5.3 with the Aragorn exploit and was using gamehacker application and lucky patcher. Some days before I did framaroot exploit and forgot to unroot the device and kept the device idle for some time. After a while, my device got restarted automatically and after that it is working in weird fashion. Whatever I delete reappears and what ever i add is getting deleted once i restart my device. Also the device is restarting every 5 minutes once. I installed various applications to find whether my device got the EMMC Bug but most of the applications didn't gave any error. Then I looked into the MAG2GA Trim bug and it looks like I had got one as some of the mp3 files gets corrupted now and then for a while. So it looks like memory is getting corrupted for some or the other reason. I tried to flash Samsung Stock version of Jelly Bean and Honey Comb. Odin gave success message but no change happened. Looks like the EMMC is in read only mode. I tried SU and mounted my /system with read write mode and restarted the device. But nothing happened after that also. I tried factory reset / wipe data / wipe cache partition but nothing is working. Also in recovery mode I am getting a line in Red color : "did not match sized '/system/csc/common/system/cc/others.xml'(No data available)". I went to this path via su and found the file was present. I tried to install TWRP, CWM etc., but everything got erased once i restarted my device. Is there any way where I can get my tablet in working condition other than hardware change.
I tried installing cyanogenmod through sdcard from recovery mode but I am getting difference in signature as I am not able to install CWM / TWRP to change that.
Hoping for a valuable feedback.
Regards,
bhaarn.

SIM Card Problem

Hi!
I'm running a custom rom (CM 12.1), but my Xperia L doesnt detect any sim card more - even when I do a factory reset - "Emergency Calls Only"/sim card not detected. I tested and the sim card works on another cellphone. The Mobile Network option is greyed out, I can't turn on/off and the APN settings are not available for me - i can add manually an APN, but it disappear after "save". The Wifi is working normally - the problem it's just the sim card - no signal detected. The system says that phone number is unknow.
I tried some solutions (forum and googling it), but nothing works. This can be a hardware problem? I'm a bit confused.

Yes it could be a hardware problem since you did a reset, try blowing some air to the port with a hair dryer set to cold :good:

The touch functions are correct and in the right place - they are not reversed (like the view on the display). The station works smoothly. It looks like the display itself has gone into headup mode and the touch has remained unchanged. It happened after the installation of Sygic and unsuccessful attempt to start the car engine ... Entering the service menu does not give anything - no reboot settings - only changing the logo and other little needed "goodies" After entering the "recovery" menu, you can not start system restore - no file (s) or recovery - need firmware
thank you
