Tab 7.7 Restars every 5 minutes. Deleted data reappears after restart. - Galaxy Tab 7.7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear All,
I am using Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 (GT-P6800) with the below Items :
Android Version : 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean)
Baseband Version : P6800DXMD3
Kerner Version : 3.0.31 - 1157844
[email protected] - 133 #3
SMP PREEMPT MON APR 22 22:19:00 KST 2013
Build Number : JZO54K.P6800DXMD3
EMMC Type : MAG2GA
CID : 1501004d4147324741076f07993b5f91
Revision : 0X7
The EMMC data has been extracted from gotbrickbug app.
Also I was using Framaroot 1.5.3 with the Aragorn exploit and was using gamehacker application and lucky patcher. Some days before I did framaroot exploit and forgot to unroot the device and kept the device idle for some time. After a while, my device got restarted automatically and after that it is working in weird fashion. Whatever I delete reappears and what ever i add is getting deleted once i restart my device. Also the device is restarting every 5 minutes once. I installed various applications to find whether my device got the EMMC Bug but most of the applications didn't gave any error. Then I looked into the MAG2GA Trim bug and it looks like I had got one as some of the mp3 files gets corrupted now and then for a while. So it looks like memory is getting corrupted for some or the other reason. I tried to flash Samsung Stock version of Jelly Bean and Honey Comb. Odin gave success message but no change happened. Looks like the EMMC is in read only mode. I tried SU and mounted my /system with read write mode and restarted the device. But nothing happened after that also. I tried factory reset / wipe data / wipe cache partition but nothing is working. Also in recovery mode I am getting a line in Red color : "did not match sized '/system/csc/common/system/cc/others.xml'(No data available)". I went to this path via su and found the file was present. I tried to install TWRP, CWM etc., but everything got erased once i restarted my device. Is there any way where I can get my tablet in working condition other than hardware change.
I tried installing cyanogenmod through sdcard from recovery mode but I am getting difference in signature as I am not able to install CWM / TWRP to change that.
Hoping for a valuable feedback.
Regards,
bhaarn.

[ROOT] unrevoked3 v3.31 (with support for new HBOOT, now with amend scripting!)

Hi!
On behalf of the unrevoked team, we're proud to announce the new release of unrevoked -- version 3.3. This version adds support for HBOOT 2.02 and 2.10, and also adds support for the new OTA, 3.70.651.1.
You can get it at our site, http://www.unrevoked.com/recovery/ .
New in this release is ClockworkMod 3.0.0.2. We and Koush have been working hard on getting ClockworkMod all set and safe on EVO 4G; ClockworkMod is now using the latest EVO 4G kernel, for one, and now has nandroid options to back up your WiMAX keys. It also encodes your phone's serial number in the WiMAX backup, which greatly reduces the risk of restoring the wrong WiMAX image to the wrong phone. Please try it out!
We'll be watching this thread off and on. There are a few known glitches; carefully read the frequently asked questions in the "More Info" section, linked from the page above.
Thanks for everyone's support and assistance -- and have a happy new year!
joshua
unrevoked
UPDATE:
I just pushed out 3.31, which fixes a bunch of small issues that people were having, and backs down to Clockwork 2.6.0.1. This adds support for Amend scripting back in, but keeps all the good changes from 3.0.0.2 -- WiMAX backup, and the new kernel with support for new hboot partitions. I tested this pretty thoroughly -- I fully erased my WiMAX partition with erase_image wimax (don't try this at home!), and then restored it from a backup I took with Clockwork 2.6.0.1. My keys were intact, and my 4G still works. More detail about the changes can be found in the changelog. Thanks!
You guys are the best!!!!!!!!
so im guessing you fixed the recovery. because in my testing with the new version of cw...on older hardware with the new hboot it wouldnt back up squat...and there have been reports of people noting being able to flash things with the new version on new hardware or not being able to boot.
thanks for the hardwork
Sweet! will be trying this on my new EVO tonight... will update how it goes.
Thanks guys for the hard work!
This is great news.
I'm going to hold off on doing anything for now until the flashing issues are completely figured out and there is a solid 3.2 build out.
Thanks for all of your hard work guys.
Is the new version setup to install the old 2.5 version of Clockwork if you use it against an older partition structure? Word is that Clockwork 3.0.0.2 is not backwards compatible with the old partition structure.

didnt work in my testing...but i am just one person. all though i got the same results across 3 evo's two old 0003 and one newer 0003 (with the new camera)
Soooooo stoked for this!!!
VERY NICE!!!!
Quick question, I don't have 4g in my area yet so I haven't gotten 4g connected yet. So should I flash the new wimax radio and start my new restorations from there or just leave it as is and keep my old backups along with whichever new ones I create?

did this and it worked use it guys make sure you follow everything. Unrevoked team cwr gave me some problems while rebooting it gave me lines on my screen it looks scary but it works so i just switch to amon recovery anyways thanks

Rooting mt6577 GT-N9300+ Galaxy S3 clone

I'm posting this here since im not allowed to post in this thread (dont have 10 posts): Root MANY ANDROID! [Upd: 13.10.2012]
I have succesfully rooted my mt6577 GT-N9300+ Galaxy S3 smartphone clone by following the steps (at your own risk):
connect phone to pc by USB cable
install correct driver until it is shown in Device manager as a "Android Phone" - "Android Composite ADB interface". The driver can be easily found on the web if you search for "usb_driver_MT65xx_Android_.rar". If you don't know how to install a driver stop this procedure and learn windows.
Go to "settings" in your smart phone
go to 'SYSTEM' , 'developer options' and enable 'USB debugging'
go to 'PERSONAL', 'Security' and enable 'Unknown sources'
Follow instructions in Bin4ry's first post (here ) and start his procedure (runme.bat)
Choose number 1) 'normal mode' in this procedure
Your smart phone pops up backup/restore --> choose 'restore'
Let your smart phone restart
Your phone is rooted thanks to Bin4ry:good::good:

Thanks for the confirmation. But did your phone remain in the exact state after rooting, as it was prior to rooting. It mentions restore and I dread that it will restore the phone but I don't want it to do that.
Thanks for any more info

Hi Lee,
I installed some apps and changed settings before rooting. After rooting nothing was changed. As far as i know it was not restored to stock. I think the backup/restore procedure is required to install the Superuser app correctly (correct me if I am wrong).
Sorted - just took a little courage to believe it would remain as it was but with root.
Superuser app installed and browsed root with root explorer.
Thanks

I tried the same steps. I get the option to Restore data.. I click that and then the phone reboots.. everything completes and the command prompts asks to close the window by pressing any key..
However, SuperUser is not installed and the phone is not rooted.. What could be the problem here? I got this phone called Phecda i9300 from Amazon.. In About Phone, it shows as Alps GT-9300.. Any help would be appreciated..

it's Android 4.1.1 .
I've tried :
- Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18.7
- MTKdroidTools_v230 (created scatter file; temp root procedure start, but no restore button appears on the phone and it automatically reboots one time with no succes; backup button stays disabled!)
- manual root via adb, can't mount system (it says no mount available)
- SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1224.01.7 : loaded my scatter file and recovery.img CWM patched from Bruno .. but when I load scatter file I can see only 00 memory address only and no other address!
- Unlock root - no root
Someone can share other ideas for JB on this phone ??

Chinese Note II clone problem (Star S7100 - MTK6577)

Hi,
I have just bought a chinese Note II clone.
Code:
www dot cellphonemic dot com/mtk6577-android-phones/s7100-mtk6577
The phone seems to be unable to handle SIM properly. On every start I get the error message:
com.android.phone stopped
Click to collapse
SIM Toolkit is also unable to start. When I start or receive a call, the display goes blank or just flashes up for a moment. (This problem is resolved already, see here)
I was told it is most likely a firmware error. On searching, I didn't find this model or similar in the forum. I also tried several rooting methods described here without success.
Here are some details I could get from the phone:

I asked the chinese merchant I bought the phone from but he seems quite uncertain, although he promised to send a new ROM.
Can anybody help? Thanks in advance
Unfortunately is often quite difficult to get support for those Chinese clone devices. I hope you'll find someone that can help you but I think your best bet is to ask the seller for a replacement.

It was never in my mind. This is why I posted here. But the question is still academic, since firmware update requires rooting (as far as I know) and I am unable even to root.
Proximity sensor
The problem of blank/flashing screen during calls has been resolved. The proximity sensor needed a proper calibration. I did the calibration many times so far, but not the correct way. I have just figured out how it should be done effectively.
pls teach me.

It is actually a simple process. Locate your proximity sensor, it is a small LED-like thing next to the speaker, on either side. Look for calibration of proximity sensor, you can find it usually amongst the display options. Tap on it, target-like concentric circles appear and the application asks you to place some obstacles over the sensors. The easiest way is to hold your palm above the sensor approx. 5 cm (2 inches) apart. Touch the Start button, and then try to complete the process with your hand motionless. The whole process takes a few seconds. If you did everything right, during a call, holding the phone to your ear the screen goes blank, and the phone application re-appears when moving the phone away.

Hi,
thanks for the response. How is your ROM working? Is it fully functioning, rooted or not etc.
How should it be installed? From SD card or by flashing application?
Send it anyway, having itself doesn't do any matter.
Thanks in advance
I have the exact same phone as you but mine seems to be working fine. I've tried to root it and there is no way I can find to root it. Especially since my boot menu is in Chinese! I would give you my ROM if I knew how.
I guess buyers should run the risk when buying clone phone. Asking replacement seems to be the answer.

Hi,
I have just bought a chinese Note II clone.
Code:
www dot cellphonemic dot com/mtk6577-android-phones/s7100-mtk6577
The phone seems to be unable to handle SIM properly. On every start I get the error message:
SIM Toolkit is also unable to start. When I start or receive a call, the display goes blank or just flashes up for a moment. (This problem is resolved already, see here)
I was told it is most likely a firmware error. On searching, I didn't find this model or similar in the forum. I also tried several rooting methods described here without success.
Here are some details I could get from the phone:
Code:
BuildInfos
Android version : 4.1.1
Release Codename : REL
API LEVEL : 16
CPU ABI : armeabi-v7a

You may try to flash the original factory ROM via Flash Tool, if your phone still can be recognized.
Btw. root access can be gained by replacing the Chinese recovery with CWM recovery, then installing SU from CWM recovery.
Successfully rooted
I have just successfully rooted my phone. The process was as follows:
I replaced the Chinese factory recovery mode with CWM recovery via Flash Tool.
Started the phone with CWM recovery and installed a superuser package from it.
If anybody interested, I can provide links to files needed along with description of the process.
Hi just joined this group

Been trying all day with Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18

Tell me the info please, I have been trying to root mine for days
Flashing CWM Recovery and install root
Download CWM_and_root_flash.rar from here.
Unpack the archive with its folder structure to a path not containing any special characters.
Flashing CWM Recovery:
Turn off the phone without connected to the computer.
Take out the battery and insert it back after a few seconds.
(If the driver is already installed, continue with step 5) Connect the phone to the computer with USB cable. The operating system will detect a new device - direct the wizard to the folder containing the driver (for your version of OS)
[*]When driver is installed, disconnect the cable from the computer.
Run the program SP Flash Tool.

Push the button Scatter-loading and select the file MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt (it is in the folder CWM Recovery).
IMPORTANT! Make sure, only RECOVERY is selected in the image list, otherwise the phone could stop working!
Push the button Download.
Connect the phone to the computer. The program should recognize it and start flashing.
If the phone is not detected, then unplug it from the computer, remove and insert the battery and re-connect to the computer.
Also the new hardware wizard may pop up again - just let it install the driver automatically.
When flashing is complete, disconnect the phone.
Boot the phone normally to check everything works properly.
Installing root (Superuser):
Save MT6577 blk0p3 Root by CWM-SuperSU 0.99 angelobiz.zip on SD card (internal SD card is preferred).
Turn off the phone and reboot it in recovery mode by keeping pressed Volume+ and Power buttons simultaneously.
You enter CWM-based Recovery v6.0.1.2 you have just flashed. (Navigate with V+/- and choose with PWR)
Choose "install zip from sdcard" from the main menu.
Either select "choose zip from sdcard" from the next menu if you saved the zip on the external SD card
or select "choose zip from internal sdcard" if you saved the zip on the internal SD card.
Navigate to the zip and press the Power button. When the installation process is complete, reboot the phone normally.
Superuser application is now installed and you can check the root status with a root checker application.

[Solved] WiFi wont turn on after flash!

Hi!
I have an android tablet but I don't know exactly what device it is. Here is everything what I have found:
-Brand: RK3026
-Model: Q8
-Android: 4.2.2 (SDK: 17)
-Kernel: Linux version 3.0.36+ ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease) (GCC)) #69 SMP PREEEMPT Thu Jan 16 15:50:05 HKT 2014
-Number of the version of the software: rk3026-eng 4.2.2 JDQ39 eng.lijian.20140107.155201 test-keys
-CPU Model: Rockchips Cortex-A9 (Dual Core, freq: 312-1008MHz)
-Renderer: Mali-400 MP
-Resolution: 800x480
-Rear and front camera: 1,9 MP (1600x1200) and 0,3 MP (640x480)
-Ram: 512MB
-System storage: 0,98GB
-Internal storage: 1,90GB
-GPU version: OpenGL ES 2.0
Also I got some manual but there was only "MID Android". Tablet looks like THIS.
First I rooted my device with chinese program called Vroot. Then I installed TWRP and I made backup with it. Then I tried to flash this rom (made by Cash1977) but I didn't flash it with kernel partion so I ended up to a bootloop. Then I tried to restore TWRP backup but the I noticed that it was not proper. The system part size was only 4kt. When I did restore backup my TWRP said "no os installed are you sure you wish to reboot". When I rebooted it ended up to a bootloop again.
Then I tried to flash this rom (made by Oma) but it didn't work. I used rkandroidtool v1.37. First I think that I used wrong kernel so I tried with several kernels and got messed up device badly. I almost bricked it once for good but then I tried different tool called androidtool v2.1. Then I flash with Cash's rom and this kernel (3.0.36+ (lijian) #69) and device booted up nicely. Only porblem is now that wifi is not working
The issue: If I try to turn wifi bar on it will automatic slide to off position. It says that "turning wifi on" but nothing happens. When I go settings>advanced I noticed that mac address is unavailable. Also when I go settings>about tablet>status I found put that imei is unknow.
So far I have tried to flash different rom (the oma's one again) and it works perfectly but wifi not. I have also tried to restore my TWRP again but it says "no os installed". I have also tried to wifi fix app and FXR wifi fix app but they are not helping. FXR wifi fix stops when it says "reading profiles". Can anyone help me?
EDIT: I find this thead and there is the same problem! How I can find those same files (libhardware.so ,libhardware_legacy.so , rkwifi.ko, wlan.ko and 8188eu.ko) for my device. Is the any change that thay still are there somewhere in my TWRP backup?
EDIT2: I think that I find the problem. When I go to the /system/lib/modules/ I find there file named "rkwifi.ko.3.0.8+". I'm using kernel which is 3.0.36+ so I need module for 3.0.36+, right?
EDIT3: Here is the answer to my problem:
"Idea for fix wifi
Check in your stock. If your stock rom run module diver on environment with 3.0.36+ of wifi driver you must replace files to custom rom.
how to:
1. Replace libhardware.so and libhardware_legacy.so from stock rom in /system/lib/
2. Replace module driver files from stock rom in /system/lib/modules/
-8188eu.ko
-8188eu.ko.3.0.36+
-8192cu.ko
-8192cu.ko.3.0.36+
-rkwifi.ko
-rkwifi.ko.3.0.36+
-wlan.ko
-wlan.ko.3.0.36+
3. If another wifi chip make the same too for environment with 3.0.36+
4. If stay problem. to replace all files in folder /system/etc/firmware from stock rom to custom rom folder /system/etc/firmware
Hope to fix your problem.
sorry for bad english language.
Anucha. " Origanlly posted here
Where I can find those files for my device? Can I use just any file named like above?
Solution: Turns out that that my wifi is actually Atheros AR9271 so all I need to do was flash Oma Cube U25GT2-H JB v1.0 rom with my genuine kernel. Everything is working now!

ZONMAI XS9 128 GB Tablet - Storage & Boot Problems

Good day mates
I've bought a used ZONMAI XS9 knowing it's wired behavior "restoring after boot" , and today I have received the tablet.
I thought I could fix the problem rebooting in recovery mode and "flash heal" the device, but I've failed to do so.
Neither the button press method (select recovery mode from boot menu) nor using adb reboot recovery via USB connection succeeded. It seems the tablet tries to go into recovery mode, but can't boot it for unknown reason and falls back to main boot loading.
I can access the device and install applications setup WLAN do all kind of things, but after a normal reboot (or factory reset) ALL changes are lost, and last used state of the previous owner around 12.2021 is restored.
I've noticed a security patch discrepancy. In the "About tablet" tab the system claims security patch level April 2021 as latest patch -but- under System Update tab the last Android security update is registered October 5, 2019 that makes the 2 year difference between the update and patch, kind-a-weird I think.
I've tried an external SD-Card used in internal storage mode too, but after reboot the tablet forgot about the SD card and wants it to format again.
I've searched the internet for a stock ROM to flash but the ZONMAI seems to be Chinese mass market no-name brand, so I could not find one.
I think the eMMC might be the issue here may be damaged or some firmware issues?
Any ideas or clues ?
Greetings from PitcherGood
PS: Sorry if this is the wrong forum, i could not find a ZONMAI forum.
