I dont think that i need to flash a new recovery since i have one already ( touch CWM ) , and I'm actually pretty well familiar with fastboot and adb
my problem is that I need the stock kernel for My Rom , that's what i think in order to get the WIFI working again
and BTW , my device was S-off since I bought it

Hi,
Yes.
The aroma setup now lets you choose stock kernel, which is the one I am currently using.

After you s-off'd, did you root and flash a custom rom and not a new kernel?
Need more info. What method did you use?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA Premium App
No , unfortunally the rooting with gingerbreak does not work , so i only have s-off , not root
I tried other methode found here on forum but no luck....
btw i rooted with the new revolutionary

Hmmm I'm not an expert and your info is not that detailed... but maybe I can point you in a direction which actually worked for me.
Assuming that you are S-off and root, why not just reset everything from recovery and flash an pre-rooted RUU or a custom ROM and see if that works first. Just like wnp suggested?
Hello, thx for the respons, but as told in previous post , i 'm onl s-off, NOT ROOT
This doesn't sound right, as I thought to get soff you need to get root.
Did you instal CWM as part of soff process ?
What rom version are you on?
What makes you say you are not root?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA Premium App
No, did not install cwm, read post wrong , thought i shouldnt do it .
Now got root with superclickone....
Will now try to get new rom , wich is the best for desire-s (and by best i mean fastest )
download will not be easy without wifi !
Try a new kernel.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA Premium App
Installed LBC Rom , everything oké now !!
Thx all for the help !!

[Q] Messed up big time and now confused

So on my
HTC Sensation
unblocked
rooted
s-on ( )
I wiped and installed LeeDroid and after that all was good apart from the wifi had error, so like a fool i did the first thing I understood this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1715697
basically installed the LeeDrOiD Shooter - GSM Kernel V5.4 Final
after that was done I got in a boot loop :crying:
I just thought lets restore from a backup but didnt realise that wouldn't restore the Kernel
I have been looking for a stock one to start fresh and start from my backup
PLEASE can someone point me in the right direction as all these kernels are so confusing, even if I can do the following
restore or go back to LeeDroid with the correct kernel for the wifi fix and loop fix :crying:
stressing here big time lol
hi,
see here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631861
in few steps:
flash 4ext recovery
enable smartflash from it
flash the rom
Hi
What recovery are you using?
If you're S-on you need 4ext recovery and enable smart flash there before flashing a new rom.
Also in what hboot version are you? 1.27? 1.33?
Let us know.
Good luck

flashing kernels

Hi I have rooted phone but I can’t flash any kernel. When I try to flash SENSE Bricked-Kernel-3.0 Sensation (Pyramid) (Bricked-3.0-v1.4-ics) pops up an error assert (write_raw_image ("/ tmp / newboot.img", "boot. I Tried to flash with ClockworkMod recovery and 4ext recover (even with enabled or disbled option smart flash ) and still the same error. I tried some other kernels too: Sultan-kernel-R17.5-Sense-NO-Aroma.zip and Sultan-kernel-R17.5-Sense-Aroma.zip, Sultan-kernel-r23-NO-AROMA-nO-BCM4329.zip, Sultan-kernel-r23-Aroma-NO-BCM4329.zip and the like to install but I do not see any change except that it will not turn on wifi ... did I do something wrong? thanks in advance for help.

I did everything like in the tutorial ( i flash on android revolution), launched the phone system looks like the discs clean ics, and the kernel version is the same before ... and I lost root rights, more free RAM but it's probably because the system is clean, how to check if the rom is installed?

Hi,
Use the link I gave you in my first post.
Try Installing the ARHD ROM
This has an aroma installation which you can choose the FAUX kernel.
This kernel is able to change clock speeds with an app like System Tuner,or kernel tuner.

You should use 2.15.0000 as long as its an official release and you don't need the Leaked 2.16 for some Sense Rom. For 2.16 you need to be S-OFF. You should always keep in mind, if there is a specific revovery recommended before installing the choosen rom.
