BrightHouse TV app without su check - Latest version [4/4/13] - Android Apps and Games

Hey guys, so I poked around on the APK and found what I had to that got rid of the super user checks and since no one has posted one in a while...I figured I'd share. I haven't tested because I don't know the login the account holder uses but it should be fine and work. If not post here and I'll work on it.
Rules: uninstall old version, install this version, watch whatever the **** you want.

Edut ) I get a force close when trying to watch TV on home network and ssh tunnel doesn't work on this version. Sticking with older version on xda thanks for your efforts.

Lags real bad then crashes on my TF101 running Jellybean 4.2.2

Ooh, this looks amazing! It indeed showed up on Market using US carrier with MarketEnabler and opening the Market link mentioned in the article. For those who don't have root, link to APK added (couldn't attach to post as the filesize is beyond limits.)
Market link: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.android.chrome
APK: link omitted, no intention to keep up-to-date, use search for more recent version threads e.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23427325
Important, looks like that so far Chrome for Android is only for Android 4.0+.

I couldn't figure out the Market Enabler thing. I would just love the APK see what the fuss is all about.
Requires ICS, I'll have to try this on my Touchpad. But I thought the Android default browser was already heavily based on Chrome/WebKit. Maybe this is a full port since it appears to be sporting the desktop UI.

edit:
Anyone else that has installed the APK and tried playing rented content?
Feedback please!
Play music not working
I downloaded the new play music and it does not work PROPERLY.
I am in Canada with a rooted Galaxy Nexus running CM9.
the app did install and it runs, it even lets you rent a movie, but it wont play.
When you click play on the movie it says failed to fetch license touch to retry.
When you try to manage your offline movies and select your newly rented movie it says failed again error 925.
I hope they can figure this out so that i can rent movies.
@trevorsm99
I've PM'd you with a newer APK, can you try it and write back?
edit:
I just checked AndroidManifest and I confirmed this apk is built for Android 3.2 or higher!
You'll get "error parsing package" if you try to install it on older android builds.
If this mod works correctly, I will probably be able to mod the apk for Froyo/GB/etc.
Ok here's the newer APK just in case anyone wants to test it before trevorsm99

Just out of curiosity, I was wondering if anyone with a Tegra device could post the files for "Dark Meadow: The Pact THD". It's a free app, but it's only available to download on Tegra devices; and I only have Exynos devices.

These are Box & Dropbox links to my modified "Dark Meadow: The Pact" *.apk . This modified *.apk has had both the device checks and the license checks removed. For those interested in getting this game to work on Exynos-based devices, I wish you the best. I've been working on it all night and I'm just too tired to keep going. I'll get back at it after I've slept for a while. Please just keep in mind that you absolutely must have the SD data for this to run. There's no point in troubleshooting any problems if you haven't downloaded and extracted the SD data first.
So anyway, here are the links. Best of luck to you!

Okay. First and foremost, YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD AND EXTRACT THE SD DATA! The game will not do it for you. I have removed the license checks, which means that the game won't close due to an invalid license. However, because the license checks are gone, that also means that it can't validate the license you have. So SD data download from within the game is impossible. If you download and extract the SD data to "/sdcard/Android/data/", then install my *.apk, it will launch successfully. Unfortunately though, it still freezes and crashes after the third splash screen. If you need the SD data, here's the link. http://depositfiles.com/files/lizpiamcz

Yes, it still doesn't work for me.
I should point out that I've already tried downloading the 8MB apk and installing it. It wouldn't work. I suspect this has less to do with it being a Tegra game and more to do with the fact that the actual Market download isn't 8MB; it's 538MB. No... I'm not ****ting you... It really is 538MB. It doesn't download 530MB post-install; it's an actual 538MB installation. That is why I specifically asked for someone with a Tegra device to install, backup, and upload all the files for this game. I apologize. I should have elaborated in my first post.
Now, to sweeten this pot. I'll chuck in $5.00 via PayPal to whoever posts all the necessary files for this. Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty good with getting things running on unsupported devices. I'm even fairly confident that I'll be able to get this running without even using Chainfire 3D. I'm trying to download the SD data now. If it works, I'll try to get the game working. If I'm able to do that, I'd be happy to share it with you. Also, just for kicks, could you zip and upload your ICS Stunner build.prop please. I'd like to try your fingerprint for potential build.prop mods on the Note and Tab 7.7.

Okay. I've got the *.apk and the full SD data. However, I keep running into problem after problem. I have never encountered an app that I couldn't get working on my device, as long as it was built for my device's version of Android. However, I may have to admit defeat with this one. I tried the "all devices" *.apk, but it had problems of it's own. So I made my own "all devices" *.apk and it seemed to work. However, the game also has some pretty intense license checking as well; which makes very little sense being that it's a free game. Anyway, I went ahead and made yet another *.apk and this one has the device check and the license check removed. With Chainfire 3D set to use the NVIDIA plugin, I can now successfully launch the game and it will load the first three splash screens and start playing the title music. However, it freezes on a black screen and crashes after that.
I'm going to bed now; but if anyone would like to give it a shot over the next few hours, I'm going to go ahead and post a link to my newest *.apk with device check and license check removed. Feel free to give it a shot. Just a head's up though, you absolutely must have the SD data to get it to work. It will not, under any circumstances, allow you to download the SD data yourself..... unless you legitimately installed the app from the Play Store.

Come on guys, this is preety general for an android problem. At least one person should have replied by now.
Sent from my Kindle Fire using XDA
Do you have the logcat of what the Package Manager said?
That error is usually caused when the download isn't complete, I.e. the file is not proper...
That said, if you were sideloading the app, and you believe that you have the complete file (.apk), then you can uninstall the original app, and place the new app in system/app, give appropriate permissions and reboot...
You need root acces for the abobe, and the method in general is referred to as the root explorer method...

So I need to give it root access and then try to install the apk again but in the system app section? And to add there is this app on there called "video player" it basically functions like the Google YouTube app but not as good. But sometimes when I go to see the not-yet-installed YouTube apk on my SD card it has the "video player" icon. I don't have any problem with sideloading any other apk on there so could that be the problem?

How old is the atrix? Sounds strange if you cant even install google books. Maybe that could be a problem with the phone, not just older software.

How to bypass error "This device is not compatible with your device" fix

This a a downloaded game Brothers In Arms 2 I got it from androidmob.org because 1 IT IS FREE ANYWAY here is proof:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftB2HM and 2 becuase I cant get it on the App Store for my device but I am getting a incompatible device error any fix for it?
Hey, your device being incompatible with the game was the reason you couldn't download it from Play in the first place. From what I know, most of the times it's either about the device's screen resolution or Android version. What device do you have and which version of Android does it run? BiA requires 2.3, so if your version is older, updating should help.
Oh, and btw. whenever you need a free app you can't download from Play for whatever reason, try googling "download apk google play" and use some online apk downloader - this way you're sure you're downloading the latest, legit version of the app.

As well as no compatibility issues

Anyone know the out come to said problem on "Not compatible" issuse? I have had same issuse for couple different apps. Can the issuse be with the firmware running on device?

ASUS GOOGLE NEXUS 7 (2012)
ROOTED
