Hey everyone I've recently created an app called 'Picture the Word 2pics1word' -Picture the word is the new ,original and incredibly fun game that will keep you entertained for hours.
There are 2 pics and 1 word, two random pictures which when combined together add up to one word, for example, picture a Globe and a ball, what do you get when you put them together? Global!
Earn points when getting an answer correct and use them to remove letters or reveal words!
Here is a link to the download, if anyone can spare a bit of time, I would seriously appreciate it :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=matt.obeney.picturetheword
version 1.02 is now out, with some minor bug fixes
1.03 out and a slightly better icon as well!
Version 1.03 is out! Did anybody download it, and have any feedback?
Looks nice. It woud be better if it had hints and a skip option!
Thanks for the feedback didoroki! Much appreciated There are options to remove a letter and reveal a word - but I think you're right - I might just have to implement hint and skip functionalities Thanks!
good game and very addictive. very different from the rest. thanks
Came here from XDA's G+ post. Will try out the game. I love a good brain teaser
Just curious, how many levels will the game have? A few hundred?
EDIT: Tried it out. Cool concept and good puzzles. The level with the windmill and lions almost got me. A few suggestions though if you want to take the development of the game seriously:
1. Raise the letters in the answer boxes so they "float" like they do in the letter tray, and not rest on the bottom border of the boxes. It looks like an alignment error (see attachment).
2. Add some audio. Background music, level completed sound effects, wrong word sound effects etc.
3. Work on the colour schemes. A game can be simple, but it should still try to look nice.
Looking forward to more improvements

Thanks a lot guys! I'm glad you liked it boxygreg1982 and thanks for the awesome feedback MasterJ87! That is incredibly helpful - I'll start planning those improvements Thanks!
Okay guys there's a new version uploaded, it might take a few hours to update in the marketplace, but there are now sounds when letters are clicked and correct and wrong answer feedback audio I've also tried to improve the design slightly - I'm not very design orientated however! Thanks masterj87 for the suggestions!

Happy to help mate It's really a good thing when developers and users communicate.
Once I get mine updated, I'll ring in with more feedback and ideas.
okay the update is available now would be great if anybody can download it! Thanks!
Hi!
You've made yourself a decent app right there!
Love the app, but there is room for improvement!
I find the place of the ads quite annoying, but that's just my opinion. Also, it would be awesome if you tap on the picture, it'll enlarge. I had quite a hard time with some pictures to figure out what it actually was.
I look forward to future updates, keep it up!
Greetings!
Thanks a lot for the feedback Illirici! Very useful, I like the idea of being ale to increase the image's size! That's definately on the card for the next version Thanks a lot!

Good Luck!
Just installed the game and couldn't pass the first level. It wasn't simple as I thought but there is not even a skip level button or something like that. Actually its not an easy game for the people who do not have the English language as native.
Not sure if it is exactly alike but there is a 4 picture and guess one word version which has been out for a while and that has quite a large following.
Have a look at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.lotum.whatsinthefoto.us
Maybe you can get more ideas from that? It seems pretty successful.
Very cool app! Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback guys!
Interesting app.Kudos to the developer !

^_^ well, im in the process of learning about making themes... and I wanted to share what i have so far.
these all support landscape. They are QVGA.
(I did not draw these... I only made the themes.)
im still struggling with getting the Start menu text from white to black upon changing a theme... Is there a way for this to be done automaticly instead of with a reg tweek on the end user's side? ...
hmm...
*******edit update: whoa! the setting to change start menu colors was right in my face. wow... so im fixing all the ones that need fixed. *done*
Download my all tasks made before 12-21-2006...
(including, christmas and recently fixed versions)
all the others will be posted throughout this thread.
***yet another edit...
I set up a page with my themes located:
http://ookami.n2-network.com/pda/index.html
Feel free to download from there ^
any christmas themed-anime-theme? something in red-white-green would be fine
ah sure ^_^ I didnt make any because Its so close to being over with the season. But yeah, not a problem. As soon as i get home today. Looking forward to it.
These themes are really good, 0okami. I'm using the nekomimi theme now. But you are right that it'd be nice to see the text in black in some of the others.
Must a say nice work !!! Keep it up !
I've got this image.. but lazy to do a tsk. See if you can use it. (PNG in ZIP attcahed)
UPDATE: TSK uploaded. Frosty effect on the start menu. Made the tsk a bit way too big though.
Guys, I'm sure it doesn't need to be said, but try not to go too explicit/hardcore. Ie nothing with four legs or feathers... otherwise, please use your own judgement.

Which software package do you use to make these themes, 0okami?

Hi Blee00,
Nice application, exactly what I was looking for. Only suggestion at this point that I would make is a brighter color for the icon. Being mostly black in color, it blends into the black notification bar on the HTC Evo and becomes difficult to see (might I suggest yellow with black strips in place of black with white strips?)
Looking forward to future updates and thanks for the great work.
Very good app! Works just the way it should, Just wrote an article about it for the XDA Front Page, should see it online over the weekend
Cheers,
CK
Works great! I'll fiddle with it over the next few days and see how stable it is on my phone.

I was just so happy I managed to get the icon kinda good looking so now Im a bit afraid to fiddle around with it ^^
But I am gonna make something like an icon-picker so u can have different icons for different notes, also change the default icon.
Thanks for the response everyone =)
Great! I have tried several "Post-it" apps and they were all just too much. I'll see how this one works out for me, i love how simple it is.
Thanks!
Hi, I have been using your app for month now and it is my favorite for creating quick reminders or have things that I have a hard time remembering accessible.
If I may have a suggestion:
So far there is the option of having no notification icon or having one for each note.
Aside that having one for each does imo not really add any functionality, on low res devices this quickly fills up the notification area (Though I prefer it to no notification). I personally am all for choice, so I do not suggest taking away any existing features, but it would be a nice option for me to have a single icon with a small number indicating how many notes are stickied to the notification area at the moment. This would help people who do want to sticky lots of notes or who have a low resolution device.
(A different option would be to make it possible by an option to let notifications with the same icon stack.)
In any ways the app is really useful for me, 5*.
nice app! gave it 5 stars and an enthusiastic comment (look for hvoltage)
i do agree with the above poster regarding the color of the sticker. keep it simple or (if you'll fulfill all the requests) you'll end up with a new calendar app at least
thank you!
Awesome! This is just what I have been wanting!
AWESOME!!
i ve been looking for this type of apps for quite a long time for my daily to do list. Great job!!!5/5.....keep it up!!
I love simple apps that just do what they're supposed to. Thanks!
Also, I agree with Rendarion's suggestion about having an option to toggle multiple note icons in the notification area.
I suggest the next update include the ability to have web links in the title and comment fields. That would make this 6 out of 5 stars. Currently 4.5 in my book. Keep going with this, it will be a good one to have.
Thanks.

Thanks for the post on the front-page of XDA-developers, doubled the downloads on one day, thats always nice
Awesome Application dude.
Hat's off to ya
Great application, to the point and simple. Keep up the good work!
New version out. Added more icons and custom times.
Sorry for this, but where can i get this app?? I thought it would be attached to this thread??
EDIT: Sorry again, found the answer to that... How stupid of me..
This is inspired by robo4130 geeky way of professing his love for his soon to be wife. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771509
I thought about making an application that does a similar thing, without having to bother about a LWP. Gratz btw robo.
The app has most of the functionality I was going for, but the UI needs a huge revamp.
Current features :
- Add a name to the message
- Add up to four lines showcasing your love
-- Each line is separately added
- Add a personalised message
--Default is 'Will you marry me?' , but this can be changed to 'Will you go out with me?' etc
- Option to add a personalised background
- Set the app to display your message on application startup
If you guys like it, I could add in sounds and UI changes and some wallpapers included in app.
I have narrowed down most bugs, but if you find any, please post here.
I tried to it out on my samsung infuse running cm9. It works well. If i understand the concept a person goes in beforehand and sets it up with their words. Then when you are ready to show it you start the app then press start and the words appear on the screen?
I understand its a basic start but its a good start you have going. I would definitely like to see some ui enhancements and some sound. Maybe even let you pick a chopped mp3 sound. Or include a couple premade sounds that are timed with when the words appear on the screen. And a live wallpaper effect for a background would be neat too.
I did notice that it displayed the text in the upper left part of my screen. Any way to get it centered in the middle?
Good luck and thanks.

@skyliner
Thanks very much.
I will try to make the UI look nicer Inshallah.
Main problem might be sounds. Firstly, I am not experienced with SFX and I have just a faint idea of where to find them copyright free. I found a neat website but I am not sure if it will have the sounds that I'm looking for. I wil probably use specific tracks and not unique effects because they are easier to find.
If anyone has any that I can add, it would be much appreciated.
Secondly, timing I think is crucial. I will try to make it spot on. I would love to hear/see a lovey-dovey song playing in the background while a dude sits on his knees and hands his (soon to be) wife an Android phone with those 4 magic words displayed on the surface
Regarding the text placement.
That is just temporary. So many times before I have made an app and have thought of posting but have always given up due to laziness and my short attention span.
I nearly went to sleep mid way so decided to post as is.
I hope to have 2 options. One. display in the middle. Two. Display it diagonally.
I could also make option to add hearts, roses, chocolates etc. Anything that raises the odds of getting the right answer

Sorry haven't posted something updated version, am in bed with flu.
PilotKey allows you to enter text with easy and fast finger tip gestures anywhere on the keyboard. It can also speak out every key you enter. This means you don't have to look at the keyboard while entering text. It can free up your eyes to focus on the text input or suggestions and enable you to write longer texts. PilotKey makes the experience of entering text in phones more comfortable and it can help you in various multitasking situations like noting down text from some source or person, messaging while watching TV, searching for places while walking etc. PilotKey can also help you with privacy while entering text in public places.
It takes about a week time to get used to PilotKey but after getting used to it traditional keyboards will become stressful to use. This is because of the fact that looking at text being written is much more comfortable than looking at the keys which requires random shift of eye focus. The demo of this app can be seen at youtube video "M1zk1v9XJxQ"

Just a few questions:
Is there a way to integrate some kind of dictonary (not only an english) one, yet? With that typing would be even more accurate.
Is there a way to adjust something like dpi or size? on my phone (sony xperia active) the arrows on the buttons are hiding the letters so it is a bit difficult at the beginning to find the right letters and the symbols at the right are pretty difficult to hit
will have to check this out, way to think outside the box
Great keyboard... And when you learn where the keys are is too easy

Hi every one! I am happy to announce my entry into the Android Developer circle with my first app, Rigors of Space.
The game is an infinite flyer with simple tilt based steering system. You must pilot your ship through the rigors of space and safely to earth. Being an infinite flyer your success isn't likely, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try.
You can get it from the play store.
I tried my best to give it an old-scifi-cartoony aesthetic.

Cool game
I like your space game. The graphics is very nicely drawn, the only thing that looks a bit strange compared to everything else around is the spaceship of the player. Since the player should be the most important part of the game, I suggest to make the spaceship look nicer (especially the flat, red wings don't look that fancy in my opinion)
Great work on your first game dude! The animation and all the particle effects look really awesome, very polished for a first game for sure.
Judging from the screenshots, I didn't except much at first, but after trying it, I really like this game!
I like the idea and the graphics (I guess the players ship could be improved though).
When you die, the game wants you to insert a name. When you die a second time, the game makes you insert your name a second time. It'd be nice if the game remembered the name that was inserted the first time.
Really cool game though. I really like the trail that the spaceship leaves behind. Good job dude!

Funny thing about the space ship. I always wanted to give my game a sort of retro-scifi cartoon aesthetic, and I was originally going with a flat, bold color palette. So I made the spaceship first, but when I started working on my other art assets I saw that the flat look wasn't going to fly. I ended up giving every thing else a bit more shading and depth, but left the space ship the same. I guess I should update the ship though

Yeah I was having problems with the keyboard. It does remember your name, but the keyboard pops up anytime your current score is high enough to be listed on the top 10 scores leader board. I'm working on a button that asks you whether you want to change your name instead of automatically assuming that you do. Until then just press enter as soon as the keyboard pops up and your pass name should be chosen automatically.
