Android is releasing official roms of ics !! For most samsung devices !! Today had just been released for samsung vibrant !!
i hope it comes for fit ! :d

Samsung Galaxy Fit won't be getting the ICS update....
Even the Samsung Galaxy S isn't getting one, so Fit is far out of question.....

Even I read somewhere that ICS has better memory (RAM) management than GGB and the main reason for Samsung not developing for most of the phones is to cut the cost of development

maybe samsung wouldn't develop low activity phones, maybe samsung only continue developing high end phones

It is the zombie art by jack larson depicting people turned into zombies and talking on their phones (?!?)
Turns out there is a hidden image for each version of android which we can see after repeatedly hitting the android version in about in settings...

u must repeatedly hit on "android version" but it takes much less time on ICS

It's NyanDroid for early versions of ICS .
But then on later versions or ICS , the moving images stopped and they still use a static image

Hello, Am looking for the rom that will be prepared properely for daily user. However I'd like to speed up it slightly as well as user interface suppose to be in it e.g status bar. Is there anything that runs smoothly? MUST BE ALRIGHT FOR DAILY USE!!

For GS3, U shudn't post in dis forum as its a G3 forum...
For G3, there r lots of ROMs in froyo,gb,ics n even jb, out dere which u can try...
But i prefer GB ROMs over the others as dey maintain a strict balance between features and stability...
I've tried Kyrillos 10.6, Kisadworx ,CM7.2 n many more...For daily use, i found Pranjal's ROM v2.3 to be the best of all !:good:
Coz it doesnt compromise with performance and battery backup...as others do..

i honestly don't think this device will get much development at the current price point. i got fed up and returned mine. not even having a deoedexed stock rom or recovery killed it for me.

One of the reasons for this is alot of Developers have stated they refuse to work on Samsung devices because of the chip included

It's because of their launch date, mate. The old Y was launched in 2011. The new one in 2013. It's a generation difference. Also, Samsung doesn't upgrade their older devices unless they made a lot of profit from their sales, which is sadly not the case for our W.

Both are Samsung Galaxy Young. Not Samsung Galaxy Wounder Young.
Samsung made it clear in the past. Every device with less than 768MB RAM will not be ubdated to ICS/JB as they claimed every device with less memory will not operate well and smooth with these newer Operating Systems.
We all know this is pure nonsense and Arco proved them to be wrong, but they made a point and that´s all about it.

My dad has galaxy fame , If I'm not wrong it has 512 MB Ram with 4.1.2 :banghead:

My mom too, she has galaxy chat. 512mb of ram,processor just 850mhz. But its ICS and upgradable to JB 4.1.2

Then they must have changed their policity by launching newer devices, but related to the SGW this was their official statement. There was a repetiotion to Samsung to release ICS for the SGW and finally that´s what they said.
Obvoiusly the SGW wasn´t sold as good as they expected and they had other devices to be launched, so didn´t really care about the SGW owners.

Do you imagine why it´s still produced and sold? Simple but true. Thanks to Arco. Samsung made a lot more profit with this device than they ever were dreaming of after Arco offered a working ICS (CM9) and finally even a working JB (CM10) for this device.
If I were Samsung I would send him a cheque with a lot of $$$ as a simple thank you. But they of course don´t care. The same like they didn´t care too offer an offical ICS for it.

4 GB of memory ,768 MB RAM and CPU :1 GHz Cortex-A5 so with hardware can easy get android 4.1.2 !!!!!!!

It's has been 5 years , I bought that device when I was 12 , 2014.
And 2 month later I realize it's very slowly smartphone .
Sometimes I feel regreting , but after 2 years used this I know why this smartphone is the best for newbie modder :fingers-crossed: :fingers-crossed:
