I've encountered a major problem recently and it's my phone always shutting down at random times. It happened when flashing a JB Rom and ever since, my phone always would shut down at random times and when I turn it back on 50% of the battery would be drained. It gets really annoying and frustrating and now its even happening on my previous rom which was stable. Did my battery get screwed up? (I highly expect this). But I'm not sure yet.. did I flash the wrong way? (Eventhough, I'm pretty sure I took the safe steps to flash). Can anyone suggest a reason why this is happening?
Get a new battery, a lot of people's batteries have died and this is how it manifests.

What TwitchEye said. Your battery is failing. I recommend these from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005HBH1R2/ref=oh_details_o09_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 For $23.99 USD, you get 2 1800mAh batteries and a separate charger. They have worked great so far. OEM is 1650mAh so they last a bit longer as well. A steal at twice the price in my book
yhea get a new batery it happend to me too if your not sure put your battery on a flat table and if it easaly spins or is swollen yhea its the battery
Oohhhh. Yes, No wonder my battery was curved... It seems it's swollen. Thanks so much guys for the help!!

By the way, thanks for the great recommendation.. But one question, Are these batteries a little bulkier than the original ones and you need a new case on the back? If not, I'm thinking on getting these!

Nope, they are a perfect fit. Same size as OEM. No new back needed.

Those are the same size as the stock battery. The just have ten percent more juice. I've been using one for a while now without any worries.

Hi,
I have a Samsung Omnia 7 unlocked but originally I bought it from T-mobile, and I was wondering if it's possible to remove the T-mobile splash screen from the start-up? Really annoying.
Thanks!
btw: i switched from iphone 4. never gonna go back.
afraid not. the carrier would of loaded it as part of the rom. give it time and you may find that you can flash a new rom on, but for now it's not possible.
Guess I'll have to live with it for now.
Thanks for the quick reply!

how often are you reseting your phone? I've only seen that screen about 3 times in 3 weeks.
I didn't reset the phone, just let the battery go off before recharging fully again. Just to make sure battery life will be perfect. Did this 3-4 times so far.

Not this again, some people myself included prefer to power cycle their batteries a few times. I don't care what anyone says but I always see an improvement after 2-3 charges. HD7 was crap for battery before I charged it a couple times.
May just be in my head...

New phones tend to "learn" a new battery. That may be what gave you the improvement.

You guys should be allowed to do whatever you want with your phones, but you should also know that there is absolutely no reason to cycle lithium-ion batteries.
question answered. the guy asked, i answered. no need to ask why or whatever.

Hi everyone. I'm a bit of a noob but anyway I wanted to buy the following battery from eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230803704348?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
I was wondering if anyone has a similar battery and if they noticed any improvements over the stock 1450mAh battery
Thanks
To be honest they could write 2500mAh and atill it can be worse than the stock one. For me it looks like a risky business.

Yeah sure no problem

Right. I've got a problem. The extended battery won't charge and I get a warning message saying the battery is using more power than the charger can provide, I've tried with 4 different chargers and it won't charge but the stock battery is fine. If it's on it just stops charging and when it's off, I just get an orange flashing light. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi, I found your post simply because I ran across the exact same battery and just as you was thinking of buying it.
I was wondering if you had any luck resolving your issues with charging the battery? And if not, did you also remove the yellow tape near the electrode, as they write in the ebay add? Because to me that sounds like the kind of thing that might screw up the charging otherwise...
Cheers.

I can't remember how much I paid but it's excellent. Check the Accessories section, I made a thread there
I bought a "Polarcell" battery on ebay and have a real good experience with it. It says 1600mAh. With Jelly Bean (MIUIzero) and the new battery my phone now always runs for a whole day sometimes 1.5 days. This really surprised me because on some early JB roms and with the old battery the phone was always dead in the evening.
Does anyone have experience with replacement batteries?
Can you recomend a supplier/battery? And share experiences? That would be very helpful as mine has gone bad.
Thanks in Advance!
i dont have a z1c,
but looks easy for the videos, just a bit of heat, remove the back cover,
and you have easy acces to unplug it,
check out at ebay battery replacement, and just get one, they all end up dead over years anyway,

He used to be a hardcore player that time so completely killed his original battery in 2 years. This one works perfect (now I use this phone) and installation is very easy to do it yourself - a lot of step-by-step videos in youtube.

No. Right now it is 37.7 deg Celsius but I played a game the time I noticed your message and it is warmed a lot... Already 35.8 - cooled for the time I wrote this message and becomes cooler and cooler.
I have been running this for 3 months now. Better battery life than original. get went to 5.5-6hrs screen on.

Can't say anything bad about it. Phone works as it is brand new!
Hi guys, does anyone knows what kind of battery might install instead LIS1529ERPC ? does anyone knows connector type?
My Nexus 5 is more than 3 years old, and I think its planned obsolescence is kicking in.
Its battery life right now is about 3 hours, less with intensive use. I've tried buying a new battery, and even tried it with a fresh stock rom, no apps installed, with similar results. It makes sense to it draining so much battery regardless of the conditions? (I won't post GSam screenshots, since the same happens in these different scenarios).
I mean, I LOVE my phone, I can't think of a worthy replacement for good old Nexus 5... but I can't go on with 3 hours of battery life. Has this happened to any of you? What should I do?

I'm sorry to hear this! I just went through HELL and back to get my nexus 5 back working.. (replaced LCD/Digitizer, USB flex cable, Battery, installed chroot and adb/fastboot on chromebook to flash TWRP and root)
It's an AWESOME device. I would suggest getting a decent battery replacement and look at battery management apps or maybe a battery case? If my phone could be used on Verizon, I'd swap out my Galaxy S6 for the Nexus 5 in a heartbeat..
Best of luck!

I've in fact searched for battery cases, and good battery replacements, but being it a discontinued device is kinda hard (almost impossible). I've bought a battery claiming to be "official", still very bad results. For the case, the only battery case I've found available is this one, and it's a bad chinese battery: https://es.aliexpress.com/store/pro...r-Case-Free-Shipping/1267012_32683454756.html
Besides, I'm from Spain, so any usa store probably won't send to my country.
Any recommendations with this are appreciated!

Some of us have bought a battery replacement in RepuestosFuentes. Here's the direct link. They run out of stock from time to time.
As I said, mine is from there and it's working fine. Also, it has a recent manufacture date printed on it.
I still love my Nexus 5. Recently I paid around $13 to get the battery replaced at LG Service Center here in Bangalore, India and now the phone is back and running. Installed AOSP 7.1.1 and it's running as smooth as 6.0.

Actually, I'm not so sure a new battery would make things a lot better. Thing is, any battery attached to my phone just drains extremely fast (maybe some hardware issue?), so... replacing a new internal battery can make things better, but not much, since it's a internal battery.
The ideal solution would be a good battery case, so I can add that to its normal battery. But, as I said, I didn't find one that seems trustworthy for sale right now.
it's an older phone at this point. maybe it's losing power faster than it can figure it out? hopefully one of you out there knows a fix for this. thx

The G5 isn't THAT old, geez.
Anyway, my V20 was doing this, and it was just a ****ed up battery, misreporting it's percentages.
You can also try to do the battery stats cleaners if you are rooted, but I don't know if those even work anymore.
What I would recommend, is let the battery die, then charge it with a 900mah charger.(Something from an older phone) and let it sit without touching it.
Sometimes letting it charge with the slower chargers helps get it back to life

thanks. makes sense. I'll keep an eye on all three, see the differences.
The battery being kaput isn't exactly true I don't think. I have 3 different batteries and without fail at 15% it will tell me the battery is dead and it will then proceed to shut down. No bettery saver, just a black screen. Phone has been doing this since I got it. Stock rom or custom doesn't matter. Not sure if this is the right place to post, I have a H850.

I have this problem and at 20_30 % gone.
I think that is something on kernel.
Can it solved???????????
Replace battery. Only sure way of isolating The issue
Phone shutting off at about 15-30% power without warning
This is the third phone I've had it was just replaced about 3 months ago I should say third replacement... Gets really hot messes up here in there... Recently I updated with the new 8.0 software... Now my battery cuts out at about 24% like clockwork so I replaced it with a new factory battery bought a T-Mobile for too much money... And it does the exact same thing... The bloody unit used to be able to do maps I could text and do other stuff at the same time and it would last you know for a while now if I do maps and a couple of emails or mean or text it's dead within an hour dot-dot-dot all since I've gotten that new 8.0 software

I'll second this. My main battery did start to swell a little besides the sudden shutdown at 15%. I also know that this swelling can eventually cause the fingerprint sensor to malfunction. Beware. Anyhow, I decided to use the "almost dead" battery to game for long hours while charging (PUBG). My healthy new battery was used for normal usage besides gaming. Hope this helps!
