I have an issue with my P6810 (rescued from superbrick), whereby downloading apps or files causes the tablet to freeze.
Holding the power button to reboot does not immediately help because the download attempts to resume upon rebooting, and is only resolved when the tablet thinks it has downloaded the complete file but then finds it corrupt.
Small apps will download OK, but anything larger (only a few MB and up) causes problems.
Once a problem download has started, there seems to be no way of aborting it.
I think the issue is an internal SD card problem. Is there a way of redirecting the downloads and / or the Downloads folder to the external SD?
I am currently using Paranoid 2.55 (Aroma version with google apps) but the problem previously occurred with CM10.1.
Similarly, if I try to install apks transfered from a backup of my phone it can be very hit and miss. Some apps take multiple attempts to install, and a failed install often requires a reboot to restore responsiveness.
Any help welcome.
Thanks

Im having real problems with my Nexus S on 2.3.4 rooted
When I start it up I just get constant force close messages from a load of apps, including system apps. I cant use the phone at all because everything crashes. I've not really made any changes apart from manually flashing the 2.3.4 update and thats been running stable for about a week
I figured I would try and flash a new ROM and/or go back to stock 2.3.1 ROM which I found in the forums here to fix it but whatever I save to my SD Card does not appear in clockwork recovery when I select "Install from zip"
I then tried to copy the ROM again which was showing on the phone through windows explorer, then when I unplugged the cable and plugged it back in, the file had disappeared and any files/folders I created on the SD Card have gone.
Any help would be much appreciated
edit*
All of the apps crashing seem to complain about the database. Im getting SQLiteExceptions from everything, either unable to find file or cannot write to a read-only database
I've tried to lock/unlock the boot loader, wipe everything via recovery (clockwork and stock) and factory resets but everytime i restart, its always the same as if i haven't wiped and the errors keep on coming
grateful for any help
i think these problems are all linked to being unable to save to the sdcard/internal storage. Is there a way to flash a rom without using the internal storage? say have it linked to the PC and do it from there?
I have been having this problem for quite sometime now. I have a Galaxy S Plus running on Android Gingerbread. Whenever I`m trying to download any apps I always get this error:
Update for "App Name"/ could not be downloaded due to an error. (905)
I have googled this problem and found out that I should just clear the cache of Google Play and the data of the Download Manager. I did this and it worked for a while however the problem keeps on coming back. I am already tired of repeating the steps over and over again. Now it`s gone worse, I cannot download anything. The same error keeps on coming up even if I already cleared the cache and data.
I believe I have sufficient space on my phone (phone, USB storage and SD card). Please help me out with my problem! THANK YOU.
Download gapps.zip for your device from xda.
Copy it to the sd card and flash using clock work mode.
The problem will be solved
Xperian using xda app
I've had my TF101 since it first came out, and I've run plenty or ROMs over it and had a good ol' jolly time. Recently, when I had a movie on a USB stick and tried to move it to the external storage, the system would just sit there. ES File Explorer showed a status bar that never moved.
I tried a couple other file managers - no go.
Today I took it up and tried to move over a file via USB (it's running ICS) and the progress bar didn't move.
Okay, Recovery mode >> Factory reset / Wipe cache / Wipe Dalvik >> Boot into ICS.
Now it let me copy over files!
I installed Revolution, the latest version, onto it and used the Full Wipe which does an EXT4 format. So all is well until I start performing actions related to the internal storage.
As I was re-downloading apps, I decided to grab an offline map from Google. At the same time; all apps stopped downloading and the Google Maps download failed.
At this point, it will often tell me that the Google Play Store has stopped unexpectedly. It will also not let me resume or cancel any download. Any attempt to force stop an app or clear its cache or delete its data will simply not yield a response. I can still run around the OS and click things.
I tried this while a MicroSD was plugged in and while it wasn't. It happens when the dock is connected or disconnected. It happened on my old EOS nightly and on the current Revolution. This leads me to believe it's likely a formatting or hardware problem. Any thoughts?
Also, thank you so much for taking the time to read through this.
TL;DR? Internal storage craps out after mild use, tablet remains unfrozen.
Cheers,
Sacrosaint.
UPDATE:
I've been playing around with the device some more. After the 5 reboots or so that it took to install all my apps, I managed to save ~200MB of offline maps without an issue. Only when I then tried to install Google+ did I get an "Insufficient Storage" warning and a play store crash. Maybe this means something?
Reformat again using wipe data/factory reset 3 times. Then run superwipe.zip 12 times, to make Sure it works. Also make sure your CWM is a working version.
Make sure in storage that 'other' isn't taking up alot of space as well, logs can do this.
I have the same problem. I did try the multiple data wipes, followed by multiple SuperWipes (Full) and still no dice. It is not stable beyond 5 minutes of use. It crashes various programs and processes until it is in an unusable and unbootable state.
Help? Please?

This is an interesting reoccurring problem for some..
Early on we were getting some problems with this type of things and there was a fix via edited the superwipe script to allow a bit more in
one of the system partitions..will take me a little while to find the thread..might pay to have a look and see if this fixes it..
But it does bring up the question again and the need for a deep format that actually does a full wipe of everything..i was under the impression that that mike's superwipe did this..and Nvflash would do it too..i am meaning a one time run of these should do it..?
Therefore multi runs of these programs should not be needed..

unfortunately, the process.android.media has stopped.
im also rooted fine using a1 rooter zip in CWM
i get that error on bootup once i hit the homescreen, with ICS custom rom 4.04 on the lenova tablet ideapad A1-07
i cannot get USB connection to computer, it only displays the debugging mode?
maybe i have to MOUNT sd card or something during CWM?
also it won't detect my microSD card, only AFTER i take it back out and put it back in it will detect it
but not on initial startup/bootup
thanks if anyone can help me figure this out!
bump! anyone
how to fix "android.process.media has stopped"
After upgrading to ICS, this error message pops up 1-3 times over the first few minutes after each boot, and periodically afterwards.
After some research I found there is 1, possibly 2 apps/services responsible for this error. I disabled both of them and the error has not returned. I've noticed no impact to disabling these services, though they are easy to re-enable if side effects appear.
The services are "Media Storage" and "DRM Protected Content Storage".
In ICS, you can disable them (or any other app/service) by:
1. Go to System-Apps-All
2. Scroll to the app in the list, click "Disable"
If you have Titanium Backup and are rooted, you can use Titanium Backup to freeze them.
Then cold restart the tablet. The errors no longer appear. Again, if you try this and it breaks something, you can easily re-enable these services.
managed to fix that android.process,media. error but i still CANNOT get my computer and idealpad to connect via USB:crying:
Clear their data
Dont disable them...Try to clear the data of media storage and reboot ..
Try formatting your sd card using another phone.
I too had the same problem.. i used my sd from other phone it worked but not the one in my phone.so i tried formatting my sd card using other phone.
It worked for me.
Thanks very much!! Solved my problem!!
[I used Link2SD to freeze the two applications and WHAM! I'm back in bizzness! Thanks Thanks Thanks!

I have a P7500 which i installed CM10 on it and it was working fine, till yesterday when i found out that the device restarts when i try to open Facebook application, so, i tried uninstalling it, the device restarts again so i though i may delete its files manually, so when i tried to delete com.facebook.katana from data directory the device restarted again so i knew its an I/O failure, as a work around a renamed the folder , installed facebook again and it worked fine.
then i decided to solve this problem by filling the device with dummy data by using dummy data generator but when i did so it filled the first 7 GB of the remaining storage and when their was only 3XX MB left the device restarted and now its in restart loop.
i tried doing wipe data\factory reset and it restarts too so any suggestions ?
would ADB be useful and if so what are its commands to be used
