I have been having this problem for quite sometime now. I have a Galaxy S Plus running on Android Gingerbread. Whenever I`m trying to download any apps I always get this error:
Update for "App Name"/ could not be downloaded due to an error. (905)
I have googled this problem and found out that I should just clear the cache of Google Play and the data of the Download Manager. I did this and it worked for a while however the problem keeps on coming back. I am already tired of repeating the steps over and over again. Now it`s gone worse, I cannot download anything. The same error keeps on coming up even if I already cleared the cache and data.
I believe I have sufficient space on my phone (phone, USB storage and SD card). Please help me out with my problem! THANK YOU.
Download gapps.zip for your device from xda.

I am also having the same problem at the moment on my Hero! I tried wiping it and flashing a new rom and gapps and it is still not working. I tried un mounting sd card and switching in and out of airplane mode...any help would be appreciated!
I got it...
After filtering through some of the threads I came across some different solutions. Clearing the cache in download manager works for some people. It didn't for me. But this did. I unmounted my sd card and I could download apps! Hoorah! But what happened? My apps werent being saved to sd anymore...why would it matter if it was mounted or not? So I decided to backup all my data that was on my sd card to my computer and formated the sd card. Then I tried to download an app and it worked right away! Im currently restoring my sd card with data so I will try it again in about 5 mins.
We solved this problem.
First. Download CyanogenMod. Then install it from recovery.
When your phone opened you can able to download from market.
If you reboot your phone it will be unable.
Then go to Settings>Applications>Manage applications>Select All
Select Market and Delete Data ( Not cache ) ( You cant delete data in 2.1 Eclair You need to Cyanogen or 2.2 )
Then your market fixed.
Enjoy
Just started getting this myself, none of the steps has worked so far, removing and reinserting SD card and SIM, clearing cache and data on Market, cleared cache in recovery, nothing. I recently flashed CM 6.0.2 and this is when it started to happen. The first download worked, but every attempt after the first one doesn't, but it DOES work over 3G but it's slower than wifi.
I restored back to teppic74's froyo and it works just fine, might have something to do with CM6 for some reason.
Hello everyone !
I bought this phone last month. Everything was working fine until a couple of days back when I tried to install this game "Jet Car Stunts" on my phone from SD card and the phone restarted suddenly during the installation.
When it rebooted , I tried to install the application again but it showed a message "Application not installed". At first , I thought apk got corrupted so I deleted that apk and transferred a new copy again on SD card from PC. When I tried to install it again , it gave the same message.
Then I tried to install other apps from SD card but all installations failed with same message "Application Not Installed". I rebooted the Phone , Unmounted the card , tried to install from market but still the same problem.
One strange thing is that If I uninstall a previously installed app and reinstall it , the installation is successful but when I install a new app it gives that message. Internal Memory is 42.13MB.
I rooted my phone with Super-One Click a few minutes ago.
Help me guys !
Anyone with solution ? :-/
If there is no solution , at least say it so that I wait patiently for a stable upgrade
Its bugging me. :|
C'mon , so many members and no one replied !
try clearing all the data on the phone(restore default) and clear partition cache.

You mean Factory Reset ?
Isn't there any other option or solution ?
And I know nothing about partition cache.
Hi guys, I installed the kitkat 4.4.2 update a few days ago to try it out (the international patched version from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581548 I installed the file using CWM and also made a back up of my phone.
I then went back to my backup as kitkat was running terrible and I couldn't get in to setting menu plus all the lag.
When I did the restore everything seemed fine but I realise now that I am getting a lot of errors with the file system, I can't take pictures as it says "your internal storage is running out of space, delete some images or other files". If I try and view images on the phone it says "no external storage available" and the other place the error is obvious is when using chrome or any browser it will say "no sd card" and will not allow me to save any files.
I'm unsure whats happened. I'm also getting another error using PDANET the app will connect while the phone is running the OS but when in the bootscreen it simply says "HTC error- 1" which is supposed to be an issue with HTC phones.
If anyone knows anything or can help me get this back to normal please help as i'm completely lost.
Thanks
Ryan
I had the same problem
I had the same problem in exactly the same circumstances, I tried various things and thought I had bricked my G as I had nothing except fastboot and that was a bit flakey
However, the files linked to on this page, http://www.theandroidsoul.com/install-moto-g-uk-generic-firmwarestock-rom/ seem to have brought back my phone and solved the SD problem

I had the same problem and I was freaking out as there was no clear solution on the internet.
Then I did some research, and found the cause to be the partitioning of the SD card. It happens either when you format your internal SD card using the recovery or when flashing ROMs that fail to partition SD properly. The solution is not to format the SD again as this didn't work for me but to fasboot the stock firmware which re partitions the SD card in the correct format.
Hopefully this helped! The links to the stock firmware can be found in the android development section.

Hi guys. I am starting a new thread for this issue, because I have practically tried every possible options to solve the Insufficient storage issue, with no result! Sometimes an app doesn't start downloading, the error box opens showing " There is insufficient space in your internal storage and SD card, please free up some space...." Some other times, the app downloads fully, but can't be installed as the error box appears again - "Insufficient storage."
My device is Lenovo A6000, it's just a few months old. I have more than 500MB in my internal storage and a little less than 6GB on my external SD. I am running Android ver 4.4.4 and have my Play Store updated to the latest version since it automatically updates itself.
I have tried these ways:-
1. Deleting Cache.
2. I uninstalled the updates to Play store to revert it back to the factory version. It worked well for some time, then again the same issue.
3. I unmounted the SD card and remounted it again.
If I transfer an app from another device via ShareIt, I can install it perfectly!
I don't want to root my device just as yet. I mean, isn't there any good way to solve this issue? Is factory resetting the only option here?:crying::crying:
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give.

Good luck!
I have a Sprint Galaxy Note 5 on 6.0.1(not rooted). Recently I tried to open an app on my home screen and received the message,'Application Is Not Installed On Your Phone '. I didn't think anything of it and just reinstalled the app. I received this error before on a S4. The problem I had there was that my external SD card was corrupt. But my Note 5 doesn't have external SD card support and it keeps happening now with different apps. I've read that a factory reset will probably fix the issue.. But before I do that, I was hoping that someone might know of a solution for me? I've also cleared all app cache and data in all apps(including Play Store) and nothing seems to help.
?
Anyone have any ideas?
You probably took ota update and data partition isn't quite right. Save everything off of sd and do a factory reset in stock recovery so it can wipe everything fresh.
