I haven't tryied this mod yet but I think a data wipe or a reflashing of stock will fix it.

Sure,
Option 1: restore from backup
Option 2: replace "services.odex" , "android.policy.odex" and "framework-res.apk" with stock ones.

A simple way would be to use a file manager that will let you access root files (such as ES Explorere) and look in the folder /system/app - if you see any files that say .odex and .apk then you are still odexed. If you only see files that say .apk then you are deodexed.

That would be cool, thanks! It seems that with the tab setup some of my notifications no longer display (i.e. K9 / Kaiten mail, etc) Also somehow some scren resolutions seem different now with a few launcher menus (folders) running off the screen now.
Stock N7 running 4.2.2, rooted.
[ EDIT ] Whatever the issue was with notifications went away once I switched to Apex launcher (which I was going to do anyway). Not quite sure what the issue was before the switch..

thanx bro! appreciate it =)

Tablet UI is nice, but any chance for a 'reset/revert' patch? So if anything happens or I dont like it I can flash a revert patch and get my phone UI back? Thanks.

Working with the Nexus 4?
I have a N7 and an N4, I can see the benefits on my N7, and even though it's in a N7 thread, d'you think this'll work on a N4? It doesn't say anywhere in the post that it's N7 specific, only 4.2.2, and I have that on both

It's posted in N7 thread so what do you think? It's specifik to N7 3g version. If you flash it on other device it will not work!

Are extended quick settings integrated into SystemUI on HTC ROMs? Also, are the extended quick settings just integrated into another HTC SystemUI.apk that people have brought over?

Finally got it after slaving over it past couple of hours... completely built from T-Mo's version... forgot what a pain smali hacking was
Think I'm going to add ringtone & maybe another volume slider too... should be pretty easy
Also, reboot doesn't seem to be working for me... anyone else confirm/deny?

I could post up a guide on how to just enable settings that came with the stock SystemUI, but the ones that weren't there with this build (Vibration & Silent for instance) require some java/smali knowledge.
Anyways, I was going to wait to release this but I'll attach the one I had in the SS.

Even better, is it possible to remove the entire MiniApps bar? I have the Tab2 for 2 days only, and I already hate the customized navbar...
So far so good, this Rom feels lite on tab and it's a big improvement over stock, part of that is the fact that a lot of software is removed.
Got my task/app manager back, unzipped stock Rom and pushed the apk into system app's . All is well.
Thanks for the infection

got rid of both b/c i wanted an hd screen with good speakers for a 10". asus quality is not all there either (most certainly not on par with samsung hardware). even though your roms really improved the experience, something felt missing with both devices (hardware limitations) and the n10 is looking sweet.

Hello scrosler,
Thank you for this mod, it works very well on a stock de-odex.
I tried to execute the stock odex, fiddling with some system files. But I have not managed to make it work without crashing the system.
Is it possible to have a version for stock odex? Or is it simply impossible?
Thank you in advance for your answer.

ummm...slight problem when I try to revert back. It won't put things back exactly. For instance, I'm on Advanced Rom and instead of the tablet restoring back to battery mod the rom comes with, it gives me a stock battery. Also, it doesn't give me the Advanced Power Menu that the rom came with. Not a biggie, just testing it out and I'd thought I'd let you know...

Enclosed is a separate zip in case you would like the actual navigation icons themselves smaller.
Also, I have some colored icons too.
any screenshot ???
Really thinking about flashing back to stock rooted to try this. Anyone on stock rooted willing to give this a try for the rest of us?
If this works then my need to run a custom ROM will be pretty much alleviated.

Screenshots don't show much. Keep in mind I have smaller nav icons too.

It works. BTW, you don't need to be rooted to apply this or many of the mods Tulsadiver makes.

the build number on my phone is MMB29M... is it safe for me to flash the MMB29K zip?

Never heard of that but you could try. This zip creates a restore file in a folder called ozog. If you have problems, flash the restore zip. Or, you could upload your framework-res apk and I'll make you one.
alright, i will make a backup first and try it out... thanks!

This thread has now been updated to include MMB29P.
Has anyone tried this mod with the official CM13 nightlies?

There is no reason this would work with CM.
EDIT: I suppose I should expound on this. This is a simple framework edit. The edit must be done to the framework-res.apk of the ROM it is to be used on. Since all of these are edits to the stock ROM they will not work on other ROMs such as CM.

I'd make one for you but you get nightly updates since it wouldn't do you any good.

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I tend to update my nightly update once a week so this likely wouldn't do me any good, unless it would work across nightlies?

You should learn to do the mod yourself that way you can update it whenever you update CM.

Great point. Might hit up the OP for some pointers.
@sn0warmy @Tulsadiver Do either of you use linux? For ****s and giggles I built a linux script that pulls the framework-res.apk from your device, decompiles it, modifies the dimens.xml so you will have a 32dip navbar, recompiles it, copies the modified files to a vrthemer file, zips that file, and finally pushes that zip to your phone so you can flash it. It takes about 30 seconds to run through this. Its a one trick pony at the moment, and requires you to have adb and apktool located in/usr/local/bin/ so they can be accessed from anywhere (one should do this because anyway).

I'm primarily windows based but I recently changed my computer to boot dually. I put Linux mint on a small portion of my hard drive so I could run super R's kitchen.
